Lydia Ko and Lottie Woad both overcooked the approach and find themselves off the back of the green on the 17th.

The pair produce some lovely chips to leave tap in pars before they take on the final hole.

It appears we're having a little bit of trouble with the radio coverage on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 at the moment, which has disappeared for the moment.

That's beyond our control but we pass on our sincere apologies.

Our text updates are continuing though and there's plenty to keep across at Royal Porthcawl...

There are some concerned faces amongst the crowd as Lottie Woad takes a penalty drop on a grass path some 10-15 yards back from where her ball originally lay.

She chips onto the green and with two putts makes a seven.

The triple bogey means she slips back to two under.

  8. Birdie for Kordapublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 1 August

    Jutanugarn E, Korda -2, Yin E (15)

Bogey, birdie, birdie, bogey and now a birdie again for world number one Nelly Korda, who excels on the par -three 15th.

Fellow American Angel Yin makes her third bogey in four holes to move back to even par.

Lottie Woad is in trouble on the 16th.

With the wind blowing in her face, her approach is well right of the green in some deep, thick rough.

She attempts to hit out backwards but the ball moves nowhere.

She’s played three shots on this par four so far and is now discussing with the referee about where she could take a drop.

Lottie Woad has found some dense rough on the 16th and may well end up with a penalty drop here.

Darcey Harry plays a fine bunker shot to get up and down and avert the threat a bogey on the last.

She finishes level for the day and two under for the tournament, which represents a decent return - even though things might have been better but for two double bogeys on the back nine.

She'll definitely be around for the weekend at her home course.

Georgia Hall misses a birdie chance on the last and remains level for the tournament, which should be good enough to make the cut.

  12. Bogeys for Korda and Yinpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 1 August

    Jutanugarn E, Korda -1, Yin -1 (14)

Nelly Korda's run of birdies comes to an end in disappointing fashion as the American drops a shot to move to one over for the day.

Angel Yin also bogeys the par-four 14th.

  13. Kyriacou gets hole in onepublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 1 August

    Kyriacou -2 (13)

In case you missed it, we had our first hole-in-one of the tournament a little earlier. Steph Kyriacou's iron at the eighth hole banged straight into the cup.

It's the first of Kyriacou's LPGA career. The Aussie followed it up with three birdies, a bogey and a par in her next five holes.

After a chilly morning, the sun has finally decided to make an appearance.

After a magnificent tee shot on the par-three 15th, Lottie Woad pulls her putt long and left but tidies up for par.

Defending champion Lydia Ko will be feeling a few nerves. Back-to-back bogeys have left her in danger of missing the cut at one over.

    Rhodes -2 (11)

We haven't updated you on Mimi Rhodes' progress for a while.

The 23-year-old Englishwoman birdied the ninth to get to three under par and followed that with a par at the 10th, before a bogey on the 11th.

Rhodes is nine shots off that mark set by Miyu Yamashita - which I'm pretty confident will not be surpassed by anyone else today.

  16. Korda birdies againpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 1 August

    Jutanugarn E, Korda -2, Yin -2 (13)

Here we go, Nelly Korda is charging.

The American makes back-to-back birdies with a fine putt on the par-five 13th.

Thai 2016 winner Ariya Jutanugarn drops a shot, though, to move to level par.

The grouping of Miyu Yamashita, Rio Takeda and Patty Tavatanakit all finish with a flourish on the 18th hole.

Yamashita and Takeda both nail birdies to shoot 65 and 69. They occupy first and second place at the top of the leaderboard respectively.

Yamashita is at 11 under while Japanese compatriot Takeda is a further three shots behind.

Tavatanakit, meanwhile, pulls a rabbit out of the hat with an eagle to put herself above the projected cut at evens.

Darcey Harry gives herself a look at birdie on 17 but a lengthy putt comes up a foot short and she taps in for par.

It’s a par too for Georgia Hall.

The sun is breaking through in Porthcawl, with the hint of warmth is most welcome.

Back-to-back-to-back birdies and she’s now at five under.

  20. 'Pretty tough coming in'published at 12:04 British Summer Time 1 August

    Alexander -2 (69)

Casandra Alexander was in the first group out today and finished three under for her round.

The South African spoke to the media about the challenge of the course today:

"It was pretty tough coming in. If I'm hitting a five iron, some girls are hitting a wood. You just know from about 15 it's going to play tough.

"Unfortunately, I left myself in two bunkers and lipped out the putts for par to end up with a bogey."
