  1. Scheffler closes inpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 11 April

    Scheffler -6, Thomas E (14)

This has been some run of holes for Scottie Scheffler, who beautifully judges a putt that breaks from right to left to birdie the 14th.

The defending champion is now only two strokes back and at this rate, you would not bet against him leading this evening.

JT also rolls in his birdie putt and strolls off with a look of satisfaction across his face. He could do with at least a couple more to get back into contention mind.

  2. Postpublished at 22:49 British Summer Time 11 April

    Scheffler -5, Thomas +1 (13)

Justin Thomas is currently only one shot inside the projected cut line but perhaps reminded of that he nails his iron shot into the 14th and will have a very decent look at a birdie.

Scottie Scheffler, who is over on the right of the fairway, partially obstructed by trees lands his second on the back fringe.

Try not to dwell on that image.

  4. Hatton inches from an eaglepublished at 22:47 British Summer Time 11 April

    Spieth +1, Hatton -6, T Kim +1 (13)

Here comes Tyrrell Hatton's eagle putt - oof so close. But that's a tap-in birdie and immediate bounceback for the Englishman.

He rejoins Rory McIlroy and Corey Conners in joint third.

Spieth is inches away from saving par but will have to swallow a bogey.

  5. MacIntyre strugglingpublished at 22:45 British Summer Time 11 April

    MacIntyre +4 (16)

Scotland's Bob MacIntyre raised hopes that he could make the cut with a birdie on the 14th but he now has a nine-foot putt on the 16th to save par that really needs to disappear.

It doesn't and he drops to four over with two holes to play.

A tough ask now surely for the 28-year-old, who has just not got anything going at all today.

  6. Postpublished at 22:44 British Summer Time 11 April

    Spieth E, Hatton -5, T Kim +1 (12)

That bogey at the 12th seems to have energised Tyrrell Hatton and he's on the 13th green inside two after an excellent approach.

Playing partner Jordan Spieth isn't so on it - he's flunked his second shot into the creek in front of the green - just like Scottie Scheffler 20 minutes ago - and will need to putt from 23 feet to save par.

  7. Postpublished at 22:42 British Summer Time 11 April

    Morikawa -2, Niemann -1, Lee -1 (14)

Collin Morikawa picks up a shot on the 13th, where Joaquin Niemann actually makes a bogey, but the Chilean gets the shot back on 14 to return to one under with Morikawa two under.

  8. Bryson back on the range and relishing the weekendpublished at 22:36 British Summer Time 11 April

    DeChambeau -7 (68)

Bryson DeChambeau is back out on the range after his round, as always, and working on something for the weekend, and he's excited to be challenging for the Masters:

"I'm going to keep it simple. I'm excited. Very excited for the weekend. This is what golf is about. Got a lot of great names up there, and looking forward to an unbelievable test of golf.

"So I'm just going to give it my absolute best, and whatever happens, happens. And I'm okay with whatever does happen. Because ultimately, it's not - -it's not everything but it would be amazing to win. It's just more, continue to keep putting myself in positions like this."

  9. The last time we'll see him here?published at 22:33 British Summer Time 11 April

  10. Scheffler saves parpublished at 22:33 British Summer Time 11 April

    Scheffler -5, Thomas +1 (13)

Justin Thomas can't save his par after getting his feet wet and registers back-to-back sixes on the 13th.

Scottie Scheffler's beautiful pitch is rewarded with a par-saving putt. How important could that be come Sunday evening?

  11. Postpublished at 22:29 British Summer Time 11 April

    Scheffler -5, Thomas E (12)

Justin Thomas had problems on the 13th on Thursday and now he finds the tributary to Rae's Creek that sweeps round the putting surface.

He is swiftly followed in there by Scottie Scheffler, who responds to having to take a drop, with a frankly outrageous chip to four feet.

He could yet save par. What a couple of holes for Scheffler.

  12. Langer misses out on par finishpublished at 22:21 British Summer Time 11 April

    Langer +3 (73)

It is not to be for Bernhard Langer....

He gives his putt every chance and it looks like it is going to drop but it slides past.

A par there would have almost certainly have ensured he was here for the weekend but as it stands three over will not be enough.

He will need two players to drop one shot and four others to drop two. A teary Langer is being cheered from the green as he goes and hugs his waiting family.

  13. Postpublished at 22:16 British Summer Time 11 April

    Langer +2 (17)

Oh my...Bernhard Langer tries to run his ball up the bank, it loses pace but just about makes it onto the green. He'll have a putt from around 10 feet for par.

    Come on Bernhard.

  14. Postpublished at 22:12 British Summer Time 11 April

    Langer +2 (17)

    Oh Bernhard.

Bernhard Langer pulls his approach into the 18th left and will be faced with a tough up and down.

The German, 67, who is playing in his 41st and final Masters is attempting to become the oldest ever player to make the cut.

The two-time Masters champion looks emotional and is being warmly applauded as he strides up towards the green.

  15. Hatton drops a shotpublished at 22:12 British Summer Time 11 April

    Spieth E, Hatton -5, T Kim +1 (12)

The grimace tells you Tyrrell Hatton couldn't convert.

A first dropped shot since the opening hole and he's back at five under par.

  16. Postpublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 11 April

    Spieth E, Hatton -6, T Kim +1 (11)

Over at the 12th, Tyrrell Hatton is scratching his head after misjudging his putt from off the green and sending it eight feet to the left of the hole.

That'll be a tricky one coming back.

  17. Langer needs par or better as he heads to the 18thpublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 11 April

    Langer +2 (17)

Bernhard Langer has another birdie putt on the 17th but there's not enough juice on that so it'll be another par for the German.

He moves on to the 18th. If this is anything higher than a par it'll be the final ever hole he plays in the Masters.

  18. Scheffler chips inpublished at 21:59 British Summer Time 11 April

    Scheffler -5, Thomas E (12)

    Media caption,

'That's something else!' - Scheffler chips in after finding bushes

    You must be joking.

Scottie Scheffler was looking a little flustered after finding the bushes with his shot off the 12th tee but after getting a huge slice of fortune he now holes out with a chip from off the back edge.

What a time to do that.

  19. Lowry 'right where I want to be'published at 21:59 British Summer Time 11 April

    Lowry -5 (68)

It was pretty much the perfect day for Shane Lowry, who is relishing getting involved in the battle for the Green Jacket over the weekend:

"I don't come here just to enjoy myself. I come here to compete. We had a lovely group. Bryson played great. Hideki played well. I played well. We kind of fed off each other.

"It was nice being out there. The crowds were big. I could see Rory was doing something today, which was good for him.

"Like I said, right where we want to be going into the weekend. This is what we practice for. This is what you get up out of bed in the morning, for late tee times on Saturdays and Sundays of majors."

  20. Hatton makes useful par on 11published at 21:58 British Summer Time 11 April

    Spieth E, Hatton -6, T Kim +1 (11)

Super touch from Tyrrell Hatton to tickle his chip onto the green and send it within four feet of the pin.

He'll have that to save par on the notoriously tricky 11th.

Which he duly does. Carry on rolling Tyrrell.
