It's a much calmer morning on the Ayrshire coast than it was for day one. The Firth of Clyde out to the right of the opening holes is certainly a lot flatter than it was this time yesterday and the outline of Arran is a little more visible out on the horizon.
The unusual southerly wind is still into the face though as round two gets under way. But thankfully there's no rain. And the forecast suggests we might go rain-free today...
Ferguson +3, Siem +2 (06:35 BST)
Just two players on the first tee this morning and it'll be Scotland's DP World Tour man Ewen Ferguson to get us going.
There's a loud smattering of applause as Ferguson is announced. Plenty of punters here for the early starters.
Off it goes and into the first cut.
We're away.
-6: Brown
-5: Lowry
-3: Thomas
-2: Rose, Henley, Schauffele, Hughes, Dean, Noren, N Hojgaard
Selected others:
-1: Koepka, M Fitzpatrick, Scheffler, Scott, Wallace
E: Spieth, Jordan, Finau
+1: MacIntyre
Brown -6 (11:04 BST)
This time yesterday, England's Dan Brown was about as far off our radar as I am from a good night's sleep at the moment.
As he rattled home an eight-foot birdie putt amid gathering gloom last night to take the outright lead, there were not many in the stands who stuck around to watch the English debutant qualifier.
But what a sensational round he put together. Six under for his first Open, in those conditions, and looking down on the world's best.
Can he sustain it?
Good morning!
For some, day one was beyond their wildest dreams.
Others simply had a nightmare.
Welcome back to Royal Troon.
