    Hojgaard -4 (11)

Nicolai Hojgaard looks a tad disappointed as he heads off the 11th but what a stroke of luck he has here on the 12th.

For a second Rae's Creek looks like it's going to come into play with the Dane's iron shot looking well short on the iconic par three.

However, it skips off the bump of the front bunker right over the sand and ends up on the putting surface. He'll take that all day long.

    Willett -4 (4)

Nerves of steel. Sheffield steel, in fact.

Danny Willett misses the green on the par-three fourth and looks to be struggling to save par.

From about 15 feet, his putt has the line. But does it have the line? It does... just.

The ball pauses on the lip, teasing Willet, before dropping in.

  3. DeChambeau misses birdie puttpublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (3)

A first birdie look of the day for co-leader Bryson DeChambeau but the greens round Augusta are devilish and his 12-foot effort dribbles past the hole.

First three holes on Thursday: Birdie, birdie, birdie.

    On Friday: Par, par, par.

I think we might see that fairly often.

  4. Bogey for Hojgaardpublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hojgaard -4 (11)

Nicolai Hojgaard imperious on the two previous holes lets out a shout of "oh no" as his tee shot disappears into the pines down the right on the 11th hole.

The Dane's ball is deep within the trees but he finds a path back to the fairway. Still he'll need something special to save his par from here.

His third lands 22 feet to the left of the pin but his knees buckle and as his putt just misses right.

  5. Postpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (2)

A tricky pin on hole three for Bryson DeChambeau as he weighs it up from a mere 45 yards.

It's deft hands again from the big man though and he'll have a 12-foot look at birdie coming up.

  6. Birdie for Woodspublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -7 (7)

This Woods lad could have a future in the game.

Tiger rolls back the years to stick a wedge within a few feet, using his skill and control to check the ball. On a string.

Can the former world number one complete the job? Yes, he can.

A confident birdie putt and Woods goes back to one over.

That's birdie-bogey-bogey-birdie-bogey-birdie in the past six holes for Woods. A tongue twister.

  7. Postpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 12 April

    Aberg +2, Spieth +7, Theegala +5 (7)

What a shot that is from Ludvig Aberg on the seventh, who lofts a wedge into around five feet to set up the opportunity to pull back one of those two dropped shots on the two previous holes.

That almost deserves a birdie but the Swede can't oblige with his putt straying right.

  8. Postpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +2, Day +3, Homa -7 (7)

Max Homa's blue slacks are the same colour as the Augusta sky.

Looks idyllic on the box - the picture-perfect sky, not the trousers - but those twitching trees indicate the wind is somewhat ruining the vibe out on the course.

Homa flights in his approach to the eighth, but he's just missed his landing target and the ball kicks slightly left.

A birdie putt awaits but it is a 25-footer...

  9. Postpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 12 April

    Fox -3 (1)

Ryan Fox, the son of All Blacks great Grant Fox, is under way and plays the first hole in textbook fashion, finding the centre of the fairway and heart of the green with his second.

But can he open up with a birdie? Maybe with a bit more juice on his putt, that pulls up sharply three feet from the pin.

  10. DeChambeau saves parpublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (2)

Bryson DeChambeau is a thinker, and he's spent a long time scrutinising this putt.

It was worth it though as he rolls it in for par.

Two important saves to kick off his second round.

  11. Postpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (1)

An error from Bryson DeChambeau after leaving his second shot short of the green.

He tries a wedge onto the putting surface from 22 yards but fluffs it and finds the sand.

Instead, he has to splash out and will have eight feet to save par.

  12. Hojgaard in the groovepublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hojgaard -5 (10)

Nicolai Hojgaard is in the groove. Fresh from his birdie on the ninth, he makes another on the 10th with left-to-right putt from 30 feet or so.

With all the early damage from the fifth and sixth holes repaired, the 23-year-old Dane is now tied for fourth, three shots off the lead.

  13. Bounce-back from Morikawapublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 12 April

    Johnson +8, Morikawa -2, Fleetwood +1 (5)

Collin Morikawa responds to a bogey with a birdie right away to bounce right back to two under for the tournament, so he's still right there.

Tommy Fleetwood isn't as he just can't get anything going, while Dustin Johnson is heading backwards with successive bogeys dropping him to eight over and his Masters looks over unless he can produce something special.

  14. Birdie for Willettpublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 12 April

    Willett -4 (3)

    Now then, Danny lad!

After a slowish start, England's Willett quickly gets back in business with a birdie on the short par-four third.

Willett drives into the bunker on the left but gets up and down from there.

A superb sandy which moves him back to where he started - four under - and sixth on the leaderboard.

  15. Aberg's bogey bluespublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 12 April

    Aberg +2, Spieth +7, Theegala +5 (6)

Ludvig Aberg is very much learning on the job at the Augusta National and might be feeling a little blue at the minute.

Atrip into the sand on the left of the fairway at the fifth proves expensive given he can only chip the ball forward another 85 yards with his second.

That means his third needs to land close to the flag but he comes up well short and he can't drop in par-saving putt from 28 feet, despite a pretty decent attempt.

To compound matters he throws in another bogey on the par-three sixth after seeing his iron off the tee spin back off the green.

  16. Young hands one backpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 12 April

    Young -4 (7)

Cam Young hands a shot back to the course just after picking up his third birdie of the day, with a bogey five on seven dropping him back to four under.

  17. Postpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau +7 (1)

The elongated par-five second hole is next for Bryson DeChambeau and in usual fashion, he goes at it off the tee.

I said it was windy out there though and his ball hooks left, heading for the cover of the pine trees that flank the fairway.

He's got a decent lie though and can still seek out the green with his second shot.

  18. Co-leader Homa saves parpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +2, Day +3, Homa -7 (7)

Did we say there was life left in that par putt for Max Homa? Not on this form there isn't.

Again, he gallops after the ball within milli-seconds of contact to retrieve it.

Homa stays tied with Bryson DeChambeau at the top.

  19. Bogey for Woodspublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +2, Day +3, Homa -7 (6)

Max Homa's current state of mind - fearless and confident - sees him go after the birdie on the seventh.

Oooh... the putt whistles past the cup and needs to stick the brakes on quickly. There is life left in that one.

Back to Tiger... he's missed it right. Ball kisses lip but doesn't go all the way.

  20. Postpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -7 (6)

The chomp down on the gum indicates Tiger Woods is concerned. And so he might be, the approach to the seventh green is misjudged and ends in the sand.

No such problem for Max Homa, who sticks his second shot onto the green.

That's an outside chance of a birdie - and the outright lead.
