Unsurprisingly, Tiger Woods is attracting a huge crowd at Augusta National - as watching the great man at the Masters is bucket list stuff for most sports fans.

    Willett -3 (2)

A decent chance for Danny Willett to get back in business after that bogey start.

The Sheffielder has a look at a birdie on the second, but he can't convert and must settle for a par.

Nevertheless, he's refusing to get too disheartened. And why would he be?

Playing Augusta as a former Masters champion is something he could have only dreamed of when he started learning golf as a kid in an Anglesey sheep field.

  3. Par start for DeChambeaupublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (1)

Dainty touch from Bryson DeChambeau onto the green after his second shot on the first falls short of the green.

The co-leader knocks it close from 22 yards and taps in.

On Thursday he ran with three birdies to start his round but it's a lot windier today and pars will keep him rolling.

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -7 (6)

Knocking in that birdie on the sixth moves Tiger Woods up to one over and tied 37th.

Remember, the cut rule at The Masters is the top 50 and ties will continue into the weekend.

With the wind starting to ramp up again, scoring could be difficult over the next couple of hours - but we shall see.

  5. Hojgaard collects his first birdie of the daypublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hojgaard -4 (9)

Nicolai Hojgaard has not had the best of days so far with a couple of blemishes on his card but he'll take that.

He zings his drive long and right down the ninth - just a fraction under 360 yards - but then can't find the dance floor from around 100 yards. It matters not for the Dane though, who tickles in birdie from the right fringe to claw a shot back.

  6. Moore the merrierpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 12 April

    Moore -4 (2)

Talk about flying starts! Taylor Moore has come flying out of the blocks with a birdie-eagle start to his second round.

The American made a three on the first, then matched that on the par-five second despite flying his approach shot off the back of the green, as he sank his chip shot from 33 yards!

So in just two holes he's picked up three shots to move to four under and all of a sudden he finds himself in fifth place in the Masters.

With Tiger Woods off the green, while Max Homa and Jason Day on the dancefloor, you wouldn't have betted on the five-time champion being the one marking down a birdie on his way to the seventh tee.

    But he is, you know.

Woods holes his chip from the fringe to the delight of the patrons, who whoop and holler like they've just seen Ric Flair.

Even Woods allows himself a grin.

Stick him on the oche at Ally Pally .. Max Homa is throwing darts.

The co-leader plonks a mid-iron on the par-three sixth to about 12 feet. Tweet tweet...

    DeChambeau -7 (16:54)

Joined at the top by Max Homa but Bryson DeChambeau shows no first tee nerves as he unleashes his opening drive straight down the fairway.

Up and running in the second round.

    -6 Scheffler (18:48 BST)

    -3 Hojgaard (8), Willett (1), Fox (17:24 BST)

  11. Bogey for Willettpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 12 April

    Willett -3 (1)

Not the ideal start for Danny Willett.

After pulling his drive into the trees, the 2016 Masters champion was always scrabbling on the first.

Sinking a 20-foot par putt would have been a great get-out clause but he couldn't convert it and instantly drops back a shot.

Willett is still smiling so let's not worry yet. Yesterday he spoke about how having no expectation helped him and imagine it'll be the same approach today.

  12. Young on the movepublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 12 April

    Young -5 (6)

Cameron Young loves the majors and is making a move here to try and get involved in another one - as he's birdied three of his first six holes to power to five under and fourth place on his own.

Young is yet to win on the PGA Tour, but he's saved his best golf for the big ones, finishing second at The Open behind Cameron Smith in 2022 as one of four top-eight finishes.

The 26-year-old finished eighth at last year's Open at Hoylake, along with a T7 at Augusta 12 months ago and a T3 at the 2022 US PGA Championship.

  13. Postpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (16:54), Willett -4 (16:30)

Oh and while Bryson DeChambeau claimed the amateur title at the 2016 Masters, the overall winner of that tournament was one Danny Willett.

Fitting to see the two of them at the top of the leaderboard yesterday - but can they sustain it into the weekend?

Bryson DeChambeau does have previous at the Masters by the way.

Back in 2016, he won as low amateur on his debut appearance. If he takes the Green Jacket on Sunday, he will become the eighth player to win both as amateur and professional.

Along with the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.

    Not bad company to keep.

  15. Rose strugglingpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rose +5 (9)

It's been a messy front nine for Justin Rose, who has dropped four shots to fall back to five over.

Bogeys at the first and fourth and a double at seven have done the damage.

Work to do if he's got any chance of being around for the weekend.

  16. Bogey for Woods, Homa saves parpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +2, Day +3, Homa -7 (5)

Having not played for so long, Woods is not quite up to speed - literally - with the greens.

Even though he knows them so well from his vast experience, he doesn't seem confident enough to hit them.

Another one falls short and the five-time champion drops to two under.

Remember, he aiming to create history here by making the cut at a record 24th successive Masters.

Meanwhile, Homa retains a share of the lead by sinking his par putt. The chase after his ball told us he knew it was going in all the way.

  17. Bogey for Fleetwoodpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 12 April

    Johnson +6, Morikawa -2, Fleetwood +1 (2)

Tommy Fleetwood slips the wrong side of par as he takes three putts from the back of the second green to make a bogey six.

Collin Morikawa is heading in the right direction though as he picks up a birdie on the par five and he's now a couple under, while Dustin Johnson stays where he is at six over, which would see him miss the weekend as it stands.

  18. Postpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -7 (4)

A measure of Homa's current confidence is plonking his ball inside Woods.

A tidy wedge leaves him with about eight feet to save par and stay alongside Bryson DeChambeau when the overnight leader tees off.

  19. Bryson's backpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (16:54)

Nobody was talking about Bryson DeChambeau before the tournament.

His name is on everyone's lips today.

A stellar round of seven under par featured eight birdies, just one bogey and was his joint best at a major (final round at The Open in 2021).

'The Scientist' is cooking here at Augusta.

  20. Postpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -7 (4)

Woods has also taken his medicine from the fairway bunker and must hit half a wedge into the green.

He knows these putting surfaces like the back of his hand. The table top in front of the flagstick is the target and the former world number one finds it.

Not as close as he wanted, judging by his non-plussed facial expression, but a chance to save par from about 20 feet.
