    Rose -11 (16)

Turns out Rose's angle to the 17th green is very tight.

A hefty draw is needed here. Feet out right, club face turned in.

Not quite enough turn from the former world number one.

He's short and right of the green. A tricky chip coming up.

  2. Postpublished at 22:48 British Summer Time 13 April

    DeChambeau -6 (13)

A little reminder that Bryson DeChambeau is still playing.

What an unbelievable shot at 14 and he will have the easiest of birdies to look forward to.

rainfromthewest: There’s snatching victory from the jaws of defeat & snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Oh Rory, what are you doing?

Dan: I'm sorry but that was just unbelievably bad. He has no-one to blame but himself if he doesn't see this through

    McIlroy -11 (13)

Rory McIlroy has done a fair bit of hitting out of the trees this week - and some of his shots have been mesmeric.

That's where we find him again halfway down 14 and he's got it up to the green but it rolls back off the false front.

It'll test his short game skills to get up and down from there.

  5. Postpublished at 22:46 British Summer Time 13 April

    Aberg -9, Day-7 (14)

Ludvig Aberg is dry at the 15th and over the water in two - he's wide right and even wider than the bunker, but that's a good break and he'll have a chip and a putt for a birdie to get within a shot of the lead.

  6. Postpublished at 22:46 British Summer Time 13 April

    Rose -11 (16)

Let's take a moment to remember how extraordinary it'll be if Justin Rose pulls a victory off.

Like McIlroy, he's had a few near misses without being measured up for the Green Jacket.

If the Englishman wins - at the age of 44 - he will become the oldest first-time champion since Mark O'Meara in 1998.

What can he do from the 17th tee? Stripes it but down the left of the fairway. Could be a tight approach.

McIlroy makes birdie despite dropping club

This was back when everything looked particularly rosey for Rory McIlroy.

It all looks a little bit Rosey now with Justin tying the lead.

How he'd love a birdie at the 14th.

  8. Where did Rose come from?published at 22:43 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy and Rose momentum

Justin Rose really has come from nowhere - what a performance.

Combine that with Rory McIlroy opening the door and we have a real contest all of a sudden.

  9. Postpublished at 22:42 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -11 (13)

Four double bogeys across the week for Rory McIlroy - you have to go some to have any chance of recovering from that at here of all places.

I guess he's had a fair bit of practice over the past four days at resetting.

It has suddenly got very quiet here at Holywood Golf Club - and not just because the bar has just closed.

Nothing is ever straight forward with McIlroy, and as the saying goes in these parts, ‘with Rory, there’s always a story’.

This putt for a share for the lead then... did NOT expect to be writing that when Rose stood on the 16th tee.

Four feet. No problem, right? Everything is a problem on Masters Sunday.

But Rose keeps cool and converts. Incredible!

  12. Par for DeChambeaupublished at 22:39 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -11, DeChambeau -6 (13)

Head scratching from Bryson DeChambeau as he gets out of jail but misses his birdie putt.

He'll stay at six under par - and out of contention.

  13. Double bogey for McIlroypublished at 22:38 British Summer Time 13 April

    Missed.

It's a double bogey for Rory McIlroy and everything twists again.

  15. Postpublished at 22:36 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -13, DeChambeau -6 (12)

Into the drop area goes Rory McIlroy and this time he gets his chip just right, curling round the hole and landing 10 feet away.

That would have been a delightful spot to be putting for birdie,

Instead, he'll be putting for bogey.

  16. 'Cardinal sin'published at 22:35 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -13, DeChambeau -6 (12)

    Andrew Magee
PGA Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

That’s just a cardinal sin. You cannot be right of the pin ever on that hole.

You’ve got to stay in this game to the bitter end at Augusta National.

    There is always something lurking.

  17. Postpublished at 22:35 British Summer Time 13 April

Wouldn't be the Masters without a bit of drama.

  18. Water trouble for McIlroypublished at 22:34 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -13, DeChambeau -6 (12)

Rory McIlroy just seems to underhit his chip, it bounces off the green, spins backwards and rolls into the creek that guards the 13th.

    Nobody saw that coming!

  19. Postpublished at 22:33 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy -13, DeChambeau -6 (12)

    Everybody hold on.

That's a big mistake from Rory McIlroy.

  20. Chance for Rosepublished at 22:32 British Summer Time 13 April

    Rose -10 (15)

What Rose would do for a birdie on 6. And not because he needs a bit of the twos kitty.

He's going to get it, you know! Surely. A lovely short iron bounces just short of the flag and his ball cosies up to the pin.

My word. This putt to slash the lead to two shots... and maybe better. Wow.
