It's not Hovland's best but it's pretty good. They've got the chance here to put the pressure on and make par.

This one is really going off now.

It's plugged but he gets steep into the back of the ball and digs it out. That's three feet away.

It might well make the US think they need to make this to win the hole.

Remember when Viktor Hovland's short game used to be his Achilles heel?

These are the moments he took it apart and built it back up again.

  4. Advantage USApublished at 16:35 BST 26 September

    Cantlay/Schauffele A/S Hovland/MacIntyre (16)

World-class shot by Xander Schauffele. Absolutely world-class approach with the heat seriously on.

They will have a putt for a two.

Europe have it all on to make a three.

It's high floating. It's quite gusty around here so I don't know if he's [MacIntyre] missed the wind. This could even be plugged.

Short right from Robert MacIntyre on the par-three 17th.

And he span round to look at the crowd after he hit the shot, as if he was put off by something.

There was also a gust in the wind as he hit. But I think he was reacting to something said by the crowd.

That was a real chance, one you feel the Americans had to take.

  8. Cantlay misses puttpublished at 16:31 BST 26 September

    Cantlay/Schauffele A/S Hovland/MacIntyre (16)

No! No for Patrick Cantlay. We stay all square.

He pulled that off the face and that putt did not match the quality of the approach.

In fact it is Viktor Hovland to go first. But they are equi-distant, so this might be an advantage if he can hole it.

It creeps past though and this is a big, big chance for the US.

Luke Donald looks like an extra from Top Gun as he stalks this green.

The shouts of 'U-S-A U-S-A' are pretty feeble as both sides line up their putts.

    Right then Robert MacIntyre.

Just a wedge for him. Lovely angle. He will be firing right at it.

And he does. Beautiful approach from the Scotsman. He's got that inside the US.

Patrick Cantlay v Viktor Hovland putting contest coming up.

The American fans love it. Super shot from Schauffele!

Xander Schauffele from 172 yards. Wind helping. Just a nine-iron.

Gorgeous shot. Pin high. Ten feet for a three.

Three wins in four holes for this North Sea alliance.

    A very likeable pair.

Keegan Bradley seem to be hoping the arrival of President Trump will reverse USA's fortunes.

"It’s not exactly what we wanted but we know the Ryder Cup is going to be ebbs and flows and I’ve got a lot of faith in our boys.

"Well, we just had the President fly over in his Air Force One so I’ve got a feeling things are going to turn here.

"Let’s see how this last match finishes up."

The 16th is another right-to-left dog-leg. It's 493 yards from an elevated tee and the sun is baking this course now.

That felt a little high on the face to me from Viktor Hovland. Wonder if he might have lost a touch of distance.

Air Force One has rumbled overhead and Donald Trump, the President of the United States has landed somewhere near Bethpage.

The local traffic has been quite heavy going this week but I suspect the presidential motorcade will be whizzed straight through.

Could you imagine if he rocks up and the US are 4-0 down?

    In it goes for Europe!

Brilliant stuff from Luke Donald's team and Viktor Hovland holds his nerve. All the momentum is with Europe now.

  20. All square!published at 16:17 BST 26 September

    Cantlay/Schauffele A/S Hovland/MacIntyre (15)

Now Viktor Hovland. He will smile widely if this goes in, it's fair to say.

But it's also downhill. So he can't be bold.

    IN!

His pace was perfect there. He set it out just right of the hole and it trickled in the front door.

All square and momentum firmly with Europe in this last match.
