  1. Almost ace for Tigerpublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 17 May

    Woods +6 (8)

Tiger Woods almost blew the roof off Valhalla - if it had one - with his tee shot on the par-three eighth which was right at the flag and come within four inches of dropping for a hole-in-one!

Just imagine the scenes if that had dropped..

As it is, it's two consecutive bogeys for Woods that at least gives a glimmer of hope he can somehow find a way to make the cut - big ask though.

  2. Postpublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 17 May

    Johnson +2, McIlroy -5, Rose -1 (6)

Safety first from Rory McIlroy, who dinks over the water hazard but sees his ball just run through the right fairway to the first cut.

It's just a short iron from there mind and he swishes his third shot to four feet to leave himself a easyish birdie putt.

  3. Postpublished at 22:03 British Summer Time 17 May

    Hovland -5 (6)

A birdie for Viktor Hovland who is on a mini rollercoaster of a run early in his round, going eagle-bogey-birdie in his last three holes.

  4. Theegala in full flowpublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 17 May

    Finau -8, Theegala -8, Hatton E (5)

That is some shot. Sahith Theegala is in the rough on the fifth but nails his iron shot to three feet before tidying up for birdie.

  5. Postpublished at 21:59 British Summer Time 17 May

    Johnson +2, McIlroy -5, Rose -1 (6)

Rory McIlroy goes left on the split fairway seventh but finds himself in the rough just to the right of the shorter cut. Will he punt it over to the opposite fairway or can he muscle one on to the green from there?

  6. Birdies for Brysonpublished at 21:58 British Summer Time 17 May

    DeChambeau -5 (4)

Bryson DeChambeau isn't scared of long golf courses like this, and he's not scared of challenging in a major either, so it's no surprise to see him on the move.

The former US Open champion makes consecutive birdies on three and four to jump up to five under.

  7. Schauffele says bogey freepublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 17 May

    Aberg +1, Schauffele -11, Thomas -5 (8)

A tentative birdie putt by Xander Schauffele fails to make the distance so he settles for par, but that's his 26th hole of this year's US PGA now without a bogey - matching his best ever bogey-free start to a major.

  8. Postpublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 17 May

    Morikawa -11 (65)

Collin Morikawa’s five consecutive birdies in a second-round 65 marks his longest birdie streak in a round at a major championship.

  9. Bogey for McIlroypublished at 21:46 British Summer Time 17 May

    Johnson +2, McIlroy -5, Rose -1 (6)

Rory McIlroy comes up short on the sixth green with his second and then fluffs his lines with a putt from the apron...again not enough juice.

A winner a decade ago in this parish, McIlroy then pays the price for his changing his mind halfway through his putting stroke as he tries to save par and shunts it right.

  10. Hovland hands one backpublished at 21:43 British Summer Time 17 May

    Hovland -4 (5)

It's just a sign of how things have been going this year for Viktor Hovland, as he got that magical eagle two on the fourth but then hands one of those shots right back with a bogey on five.

  11. Schauffele shares the leadpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 17 May

    Aberg +2, Schauffele -11, Thomas -5 (7)

Justin Thomas rolls in a fourth birdie of his round to get back to five under, while Xander Schauffele plays a sublime bunker shot leaving just a simple tap-in for his birdie four.

That means Schauffele joins Collin Morikawa at joint leaders of the US PGA Championship on 11 under.

  12. Postpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 17 May

    Finau -8, Theegala -7, Hatton E (4)

Tony Finau bends his knees more in hope than expectation that his putt is going to creep in the left side of the cup on the fourth.

Still it could be worse. Tyrrell Hatton air mails the green with his approach and finds the thick stuff at the back left of the putting surface.

The Englishman strugglers to control his chip on the return journey, leading to the inevitable bogey.

  13. Postpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 17 May

    MacIntyre -6 (5*)

Two birdies and a bogey so far for Robert MacIntyre, who now sits on six under for the tournament after playing his first five holes on the back nine - so the Scotsman's handily placed.

  14. Mixed fortunes for Koepkapublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 17 May

    Kopeka -5 (4)

Mixed fortunes for Brooks Koepka on the greens so far.

The defending champion has missed a par putt from four feet and a birdie putt from five feet.

In between mind, he's rolled in from seven feet for birdie and outrageously drained a birdie putt from over 60 feet.

  15. Scheffler shaken up by arrestpublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 17 May

Fair play to Scottie Scheffler to fronting up to the media after the day he's had, as he described his arrest as a "big misunderstanding" and hopes to have it settled soon.

"I feel like my head is still spinning," said Scheffler. "I can't really explain what happened this morning. I did spend some time stretching in a jail cell. That was a first for me. That was part of my warm-up.

"I was just sitting there waiting and I started going through my warm-up, I felt like there was a chance I may be able to still come out here and play.

"I was pretty rattled to say the least. The officer that took me to the jail was very kind. He was great. We had a nice chat in the car, that kind of helped calm me down.

"I was never angry. I was just in shock. I was shaking for like an hour. It was definitely a new feeling for me.

"This one older officer looked at me as I was doing my fingerprints or whatever, and he looks at me and he goes, So do you want the full experience today? I kind of looked at him, and I was like, I don't know how to answer that.

"He's like, Come on, man, you want a sandwich? I was like, Sure, I'll take a sandwich. I hadn't eaten breakfast yet. I mean, they were really kind.

"I'm grateful that we have such strong police, and they're our protectors out there, and like I said, we just got into a chaotic situation this morning. That's really all it was."

  16. Postpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 17 May

    Finau -8, Theegala -7, Hatton -1 (3)

Sahith Theegala jumps aboard the birdie train on the third after flashing his iron in to 10 feet. Nowt doing for Tyrrell Hatton or Tony Finau, who can't quite get as close to the flag as the world number 12.

  17. Postpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 17 May

    Johnson +2, McIlroy -6, Rose -1 (5)

Rory McIlroy has a look at birdie on the fifth but his putt is always tracking left. The Northern Irishman has started pretty well but looks a tad frustrated at the minute.

Meanwhile, DJ is getting the full audio experience of oohs and aahs as his birdie putt pulls up an inch away from the hole. That looked in all the way.

Justin Rose sticks on one under, as he passes up a birdie chance from six feet.

  18. Bogey for JTpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 17 May

    Aberg +2, Schauffele -10, Thomas -4 (6)

Justin Thomas drops a shot at five to take the edge off what was a fine run, but settles back down with a par at six.

Xander Schauffele is far more settled, with just one birdie and the rest pars so far, he looks largely untroubled by being at the sharp end of a major again.

  19. Another triple for Tiger!published at 21:18 British Summer Time 17 May

    Woods +8 (5)

Just like buses... Tiger Woods went 1,500 holes without a triple bogey in the US PGA Championship - now he's just had his second in three holes!

And it's a comedy of errors from the great man, who only had 75 yards left after his tee shot on the short par four, but managed to chip into a bunker and take two to get out before hitting his second seven of the day.

  20. Hubbard concludes with a birdiepublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 17 May

    Hubbard -9 (68)

Mark Hubbard walks off the ninth a happy man with a birdie in his back pocket. He's currently in a tie for third with world number one Scottie Scheffler and Thomas Detry as he heads in to relax.
