  1. Morikawa into the leadpublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 17 May

    Morikawa -10 (15*)

For the first time in more than 24 hours, we have a new leader!

He's just been getting longer with these birdie putts and he's absolutely drained a 33-footer on the sixth to make it three in a row.

The Californian is the first into double figures - and that'll exert a bit of pressure on Xander Schauffele as he waits to tee off (19:38 BST)

  2. Rai finishes with a flourishpublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 17 May

    Rai -6 (68)

Two consecutive 68s for England's Mr. Consistency, Aaron Rai.

The 29-year-old rounds off a bogey-free second round with a birdie on the 18th, with his long eagle putt coming up two feet shy.

  3. Postpublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 17 May

    Detry -7 (15)

Thomas Detry from downtown....this is travelling but looks bang on target.

Ohhh, it clips the left of the cup and squirms out right. What a birdie that would have been. The Belgian has his hands on his head and cap off. He thought that was going to disappear.

  4. Bounceback birdie for Rahmpublished at 19:03 British Summer Time 17 May

    Rahm E (14*)

An important birdie for Jon Rahm at the fifth as he bounces back to level par.

It took a well-struck putt for 14 feet but he's once again teetering around the cut line.

  5. Scheffler just one backpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 17 May

    Clark E, Harman -2, Scheffler -8 (13*)

Two birdies in three holes for Scottie Scheffler now after a birdie at the fourth - which comes via another touch of genius with a wedge.

The world number one is now just one off the lead...

  6. Postpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 17 May

    Hubbard -9 (10*)

Mark Hubbard gets up and down for par at the 10th after splashing out of the sand to five feet. The world number 81 does not look like he is going anywhere at present.

  7. Bogey for Rahmpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 17 May

    Rahm +1 (4*)

That's agonising for Jon Rahm as his 16-footer fails to drop for par at the fourth.

He finds himself one over par for the championship and that is down to 84th and outside the cut line.

Five holes for the former world number one to save his weekend.

  8. Kim drops backpublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 17 May

    Kim -6 (15*)

Tom Kim can't believe that has not dropped. The South Korean has an 11-foot putt to save his par but sees his ball apply the brakes one revolution or so from tumbling into the cup.

He is made to pay dearly for coming up short of the dancefloor with his approach.

  9. Three at the toppublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 17 May

    Morikawa -9 (14*)

Immaculate from Collin Morikawa as he joins Mark Hubbard and Xander Schauffele on top of the pile.

Again it owes much to a fine approach shot but he backs it up by draining his 17-footer for birdie on the fifth (his 14th).

Four birdies, no bogeys so far today.

  10. PGA of America statementpublished at 18:48 British Summer Time 17 May

While round two of this championship plays out, we must remember that a life was lost early this morning in a tragic accident.

The PGA of America has just issued the following statement: "Our primary concern today remains with the family of John Mills, who lost his life in a tragic accident early this morning while reporting to work. As it relates to the incident involving Scottie Scheffler, we are fully cooperating as local authorities review what took place. While the legal process plays out, questions should to be directed to Scheffler’s attorney or local authorities."

  11. Sand savepublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 17 May

    Clark +1, Harman -2, Scheffler -7 (12*)

Not the best bunker show from Scottie Scheffler on the par-three third but the putter bails him out to get the sand save and the par.

Brian Harman isn't so lucky though as he also finds the sand, but then can't convert the par putt from eight feet.

  12. Postpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 17 May

    Hubbard -9 (9*)

Mark Hubbard does not look happy, his approach into the first finds the left bunker. Not what he was looking for at all there as he chews the fat over his iron shot with his caddie.

  13. Postpublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 17 May

    Rahm E (12*)

I've not updated you on Jon Rahm for a while and that's because he's started his back nine with a couple of pars to remain scrambling around the cut line.

A bruising tee shot into the wilderness off the back of the third hole does little to help his cause.

In fairness though, he's rescued himself brilliantly out of the rough, chipping to seven-and-a-half feet and making the putt.

  14. Soaked following Schefflerpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 17 May

The rain's coming down but the weather hasn't stopped the crowds from gathering at Valhalla, and a large portion of them are following Scottie Scheffler around.

With all these umbrellas about it looks more like the Open Championship on a drizzly day at the links rather than the US PGA in Kentucky.

  15. Hubbard takes share of the leadpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 17 May

    Hubbard -9 (9*)

Mark Hubbard had a chance to grab a share of the lead on the 17th but now takes one on the 18th as he drops in a putt from seven feet.

  16. Scheffler goes to seven underpublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 17 May

    Clark +1, Harman -3, Scheffler -7 (11*)

A sweetly struck short putt on the second secures the birdie and moves Scottie Scheffler on to seven under and just two shots off the lead.

That's the second hardest hole on the course today as well so that's an edge on the field for the world number one.

  17. Morikawa inches closer to Schauffelepublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 17 May

    Morikawa -8 (12*)

There's another of those delicious iron shots from Collin Morikawa who in this form can land his ball on a dime.

He failed to take advantage on his 10th hole but makes no mistake this time round and slams home the birdie.Closed to within one of the lead.

  18. Postpublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 17 May

    R Hojgaard -5 (13)

Rasmus Hojgaard has had some ups and downs over the last four holes - birdie, par, bogey, birdie.

The 23-year-old Dane has looked pretty assured though around Valhalla and drains a 10 footer on the 13th to get back to five under.

  19. How?published at 18:23 British Summer Time 17 May

How did these guys get these t-shirts done so quickly? It's obviously a serious subject the Scottie Scheffler arrest, but still...

  20. Postpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 17 May

    Clark +1, Harman -3, Scheffler -6 (10*)

Scottie Scheffler's just almost holed out from 189 yards with a six iron on the second hole. Just incredible.
