Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak has accepted a Football Association charge of violent conduct.

The charge comes from an incident with West Ham United midfielder Diafra Sakho in the 87th minute of Palace's 3-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.

The club say they are now awaiting further details from the Football Association regarding the punishment.

  2. Louis van Gaal news conferencepublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he does not know how long it will take Angel Di Maria to settle at the club.

"It is dependable, you have to manage so many aspects. Not just the game, but the culture," says the Dutchman.

"The general answer is one year but you can't give a general answer. It is easy to say that, I cannot prove that. It is not scientifically proven."

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says British record signing Angel Di Maria needs more time to settle in the Premier League - and adds people should not be surprised by that.

Di Maria has made little impact on recent matches and was hooked at half-time in Saturday's win against Sunderland.

"I think it counts for all the players that we have bought, the first season is always difficult," says Van Gaal. "Shaw, Blind, Herrera, Falcao and also Di Maria.

"In Holland, Spain and Germany I had the same experience with players. We have to give him time, not just Di Maria but all the players. We wait and see."

  4. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

But while John Terry's future appears to be a bit clearer (see 12:46 GMT), Jose Mourinho is still unsure about where goalkeeper Petr Cech will be playing next season, with the 32-year-old rumoured to be on the move in search of regular first-team football.

"Petr doesn't like anyone to persuade him," says Mourinho. "He will make his decision and when he makes it he will make the best decision for him and his future and I will wait.

"I hope he will stay but I don't waste my time trying because nobody tells him what to do. He is one of the three best goalkeepers in the world."

  5. Louis van Gaal news conferencepublished at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Louis van Gaal refuses to put a timescale on Netherlands international Robin van Persie's return from an ankle injury.

"It's too quick, we have to wait and see. I cannot say anything on that," says the stern-faced Dutchman.

  6. Louis van Gaal news conferencepublished at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

The best lines from Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal's news conference have finally turned up in the BBC Sport building. There's no truth in the rumour that the audio tape arrived with a security escort.

Anyway, here's what the Dutchman has to say on his injury concerns: "Only Robin van Persie is injured. Last week, I had to miss three players. Now I only have one injury and that is Van Persie. That doesn't mean that all the players are going with me."

  7. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 12:55 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

And more from Mourinho on the feeling after the final whistle went at Wembley in Sunday's Capital One Cup final.

"When the referee finished the game is when you feel it," he said. "We had a good second half and at 2-0 we had control. The happiness is when you get it done. I enjoyed Drogba, Terry, Cech enjoying it because they are never tired of winning things but also enjoyed those who were winning their first titles."

  8. Roberto Martinez news conferencepublished at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Former Wigan boss Roberto Martinez says he is not surprised by Latics chairman David Whelan appointing his 23-year-old grandson David Sharpe as his successor.

"David has been working in that role for a while now and has been learning his introduction to football. He will be more than capable. His age doesn't reflect the experience he has developed," says the Spaniard.

"I remember David being around the club and trying to learn every aspect of the job. It is good news to have someone young, fresh and enthusiastic."

  9. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Jose Mourinho tells his media conference that he can "guarantee" Blues skipper John Terry will be at the club next season.

"I know what my board tells me and the player tells me and no doubt he is going to get his contract," said Mourinho, who agreed when asked if terms were agreed for the contract but not signed.

"All of these big guys are difficult to replace but you have to think what next and I think that is the best way to do things."

  10. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

More from Jose Mourinho on his side's title chances: "We have 12 matches to play - six home and six away and we have five points advantage, which is not a lot in this competition. You have to focus on yourself and winning matches and keep an emotional balance if results aren't going in the right directions."

"There are 36 points to play for and we need 31 points."

  11. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 12:40 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

After his side's Capital One Cup win over Spurs at the weekend, it is back to the Premier League for Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and he is asked about his celebrations.

"I did everything you saw and after that - nothing - just dinner at home and a glass of champagne and we trained next day," he said. "We went crazy on the pitch, nothing away from that.

"I don't know what momentum it will give us. I don't think a defeat would have given us negativity. It will be a difficult game on Wednesday. We are happy - normal happiness - no more than that."

  12. Roberto Martinez news conferencepublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Roberto Martinez raises his eyebrows when told about Dave Whelan's resignation as Wigan chairman. The ex-Latics boss, who led the club to the 2013 FA Cup, is surprised by the news.

"That's the first I've heard of it," he admits. "He has made an incredible contribution to the game.

"Any professional club could have the dream of playing in the Premier League and winning a major trophy. He showed us the way to do that. it is an incredible footballing story and I'm sure he will inspire many for years to come."

  13. Roberto Martinez news conferencepublished at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Everton left-back Leighton Baines could return at the Britannia after missing the club's last two games with a thigh injury.

"We're going to assess him today and make a final decision. It is a difficult one," says Toffees boss Roberto Martinez.

"Apart from Leighton, there are no other injury worries. It is the same squad which went to Arsenal."

  14. Roberto Martinez news conferencepublished at 12:30 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

On Stoke's threat at the Britannia Stadium: "Probably in the past Stoke were a different side at home than they were away.

"But this season they have been strong away as well. It is always tough at the Britannia and they use that to their advantage.

"They are very competitive, can be effective and like to get on the ball and control games. They are a team capable of getting results anywhere."

  15. Roberto Martinez news conferencepublished at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Everton manager Roberto Martinez on his team only scoring three goals in their last six Premier League games: "Scoring goals are always important to win games but the responsibility falls to the whole team - not just the strikers.

"You have to give the service and contribute from all over the pitch.

"Domestically we have only lost two in the last eight matches - one at Arsenal and the other against the league leaders. The margins are very small."

  16. Alonso to miss Australian Grand Prixpublished at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Alonso, 33, was flown to hospital by helicopter following the accident with McLaren boss Ron Dennis revealing afterwards that the driver was unconscious for a few seconds after the crash.

In a statement from McLaren they say that although doctors see no evidence of any injury, Alonso has been advised to limit any risks of sustaining another concussion so soon.

However, he is expected to return for the Malaysian Grand Prix on 29 March.

  17. Roberto Martinez news conferencepublished at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Everton's recent run of results is not a major concern, says Toffees boss Roberto Martinez.

"In the performances you can see we're very close in getting positive results," says the Spaniard.

"We're not getting the results we want but we have a great opportunity to go into the 11 games left and create momentum. That's the focus. Statistics can be used the way you want."

  18. Roberto Martinez news conferencepublished at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has arrived. And the first question relates to the Toffees' barren run of one win in their last 11 Premier League matches...

"We're not in a position to look back too much," says the Spaniard. "At the moment we're excited about the games ahead and the team wants to enjoy momentum in the league. It's one of those moments in the league which needs simplicity - and that's by preparing for the game ahead."

McLaren driver Fernando Alonso will miss the Australian Grand Prix on the advice of doctors after crashing during pre-season testing in Barcelona last week.

The Spaniard will be replaced for the race on 15 March by Kevin Magnussen.

  20. Whelan steps down as Wigan chairmanpublished at 12:12 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

In December, Whelan was given a six-week ban from all football-related activity and fined £50,000 for making racist comments about Jewish and Chinese people and was ordered to attend an education programme run by the Football Association.

Whelan accepted the FA charge but denied the remarks he made during a newspaper interview were racist.
