"It will be an honour to be sat next to Arsene," he said. "But like I say, all I am focused on is the job that I've got to do. You'd be a fool not to have learned something from Arsene and his philosophies over the years in the Premier League."

But Ramsey refused to be drawn on the implication of the release of QPR's financial figures on Monday.

"Arsenal are a fantastic technical team. They can take anyone apart when they're at their best," he admits.

So how do you beat Premier League leaders (and newly-crowned League Cup winners) Chelsea? If Sam Allardyce knows then he isn't giving much away.

"Jose's teams rarely slip up and that's why they're so good. The demand from Chelsea to the players is that they're not allowed to be off form," says the West Ham manager.

"I expect them to be efficient in every department and that's why they're top of the league. They rarely make mistakes and that makes it difficult to score against them."

  10. Sam Allardyce news conferencepublished at 09:49 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

"Overall we should have won the game, but stats are only a measure. The bottom line is that we went 3-0 down from set plays and Palace did what they needed to do," he says.

Not sure Hammers (or Palace) fans might agree with the first part, Sam....

  12. Sam Allardyce news conferencepublished at 09:42 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015

"We'll have the same squad as Saturday with no new injuries so we'll select a team from that squad," says the West Ham boss.

"The biggest disappointment for me from Saturday was the way we conceded the goals. The actual playing stats say we should have won, but it doesn't matter when the score is 3-0."

  13. Sam Allardyce news conferencepublished at 09:41 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2015
