    Ireland international Paul Stirling has agreed a contract extension with Middlesex that will keep him with the county until the end of the 2016 season.

    The 24-year-old has already contributed 217 runs in three games at the top of the order in this year's T20 Blast with a strike rate of 179.33, while in 38 List A games with the county, he has made 1,197 runs at an average of just under 39.

    Middlesex's managing director of cricket Angus Fraser said: "He remains one of the most skilled and destructive white ball cricketers around, as his T20 performances this season have shown."

    The BBC coverage of Wimbledon will be bigger than ever before this year, with up to 15 live streams available to view.

    Sue Barker fronts TV coverage across BBC One and BBC Two, while action is also available on BBC Radio 5 live.

    Three-time Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick joins the BBC team on TV and radio, while seven-time Grand Slam champion Justine Henin joins radio.

    The tournament runs from 29 June to 12 July, with champions Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitova defending their titles.

    England full-back Mike Brown is free from concussion symptoms but will not be rushed into contact training.

    The Harlequins player joined up with England's mini training camp at their Bagshot base this week, for individually-tailored strength and conditioning work.

    The 29-year-old was knocked out during the 47-17 victory over Italy at Twickenham on 14 February.

    He suffered concussion after-effects following England's Six Nations victory over France on 21 March and has not played since.

    He has had his say, external on former Hammers defender Slaven Bilic who is reportedly favourite for the Hammers job.

    "He will be a great signing for West Ham. He knows the club well and I think he'll bring back one or two of the old players to work with him."

    Top scorer Nadir Ciftci has rejected a contract extension at Dundee United and could now leave the Scottish Premiership club this summer.

    The 23-year-old Turkish striker was offered a two-year extension last month but says he is "looking for a new challenge".

    "We respect his decision and his ambition as we know he's attracted significant attention from other clubs," said manager Jackie McNamara of the forward, who has been linked with Celtic.

    Barcelona have confirmed that Dani Alves has signed a new two-year contract at the Nou Camp.

    The Brazilian right-back, whose existing deal was about to expire, had been linked with a move to AC Milan or Manchester United.

    But the 32-year-old will stay until June 2017 with the option of extending it by another year.

    Blackpool manager Neil McDonald has made his first signing since being appointed by bringing in former Birmingham goalkeeper Colin Doyle.

    The 29-year-old, released by Blues last month, has agreed a two-year contract.

    Meanwhile, 17-year-old winger Henry Cameron has agreed similar terms with the Seasiders, who will play in League One next season.

    BT Sport have announced that at least 12 Champions League games will be shown on free-to-air television next season.

    The broadcaster, who will have sole UK rights for the Champions League and Europa League games from next term, will show those matches on a new channel called BT Sport Showcase, along with at least 14 Europa League games. Each participating British team will be shown at least once.

    Gary Lineker will be the broadcaster's main presenter but will still host Match of the Day on BBC1, while former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will be a pundit.

    Long-serving Essex duo David Masters and Graham Napier have agreed one-year contract extensions, keeping them at Chelmsford until the end of the 2016 season.

    Masters, 37, has been with Essex since 2007 and has contributed 376 first-class wickets for the county, enjoying his best year in 2011 when he took 93 scalps to finish the season as the County Championship's leading wicket-taker.

    Napier, 35, has spent his entire professional career at Essex, and scored 152 in a Twenty20 Cup against Sussex in 2008.

    Pope, 29, who has scored 69 goals since signing for his hometown club in 2011, is to meet Bury manager David Flitcroft for a second round of talks.

    Last season's top scorer was offered a reduced-terms deal by Vale, but is now considering Bury's offer of what is understood to be a three-year package.

    Mo Farah's coach Alberto Salazar says he denies "all allegations of doping" and will show his accusers are "knowingly making false statements".

    In a statement issued to the Guardian,, external the American denies allegations made in a BBC investigation that he has used illegal doping practices.

    Farah, 32, has been advised to distance himself from Salazar and his US-based Nike Oregon Project. There is no suggestion that Farah himself has been involved in doping.

    A BBC Panorama investigation alleged Salazar, who became Farah's coach in 2011, violated anti-doping rules and doped United States 10,000m record holder Galen Rupp in 2002 when the athlete was 16 years old.

    "I will document and present the facts as quickly as I can so that Galen and Mo can focus on doing what they love and have worked so hard to achieve," he said.
