It has to be said, the Rio velodrome really is a stunning venue.

We're just getting underway here on the second day of cycling action and it's the women's visually impaired time-trial event first off.

This features GB's Sophie Thornhill (below, right) and guide Helen Scott, who heading into the race ranked second following their silver medal at the World championships earlier this year. On their day though, they're more than capable of challenging for the gold.

Watch three things you might not know about Thornhill and Scott here.

Ellie Robinson - making her Paralympic debut - has qualified fastest for the final of S6 50m butterfly final in 36.62 seconds.

Graham Edmunds - Radio 5 live's summariser - is trying to contain his excitement and so am I.

We knew Robinson was a prospect but could she do it on the biggest stage?

In the heat she looked confident, smooth and very strong. She's just 15.

Now she's got a golden chance at 22:18 BST.

Six-time Paralympic gold medallist Sascha Kindred, 38, swam 32.76 to reach the final of the men's event at 22:11.

All set for another spectacular day of action at the Rio Paralympics and delighted to report that are thousands more fans arriving on the park.

It would be fair to say that although crowds in some venues were small yesterday they were generally larger and noiser that most expected in many events.

The game pits David Moyes against his former club.

Moyes’ last game as Manchester United manager was at Everton - they lost 2-0 in April 2014.

"It is a special game," he said. "I had ups and I had downs but most of all I worked with some great people.

"I got lost on my way in on my first day at Everton. I was nervous but we scored after 28 seconds the next day, it was a good start."

    First up some team news...

David Moyes said: "The injury situation is improving. Lee Cattermole has returned to training and Jan Kirchhoff came back on Tuesday at Rochdale.

"Victor Anichibe isn't fit yet and I won't rush him back. I want him to be in peak condition."

Perhaps not quite what the Sunderland fans wanted to hear.

Journalists expecting sparks to fly and the Aon Training Complex today were disappointed.

Push as they did on Jose Mourinho's rivalry with Pep Guardiola, they got little back. To listen to Mourinho, tomorrow's Manchester derby at Old Trafford is purely about players, managers have little consequence.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: “I said it many times – I have a lot of respect for Jose Mourinho, I always try to learn from all of my colleagues – it’s the same with him. The rivalry is more from the media and we can’t control that.

“He was my coach, my assistant coach with Sir Bobby Robson. OK, the last period at Barcelona and Real Madrid was not easy for both of us but we met each other two, three weeks ago at the manager’s Premier League meeting. We spoke fluently with Ronald Koeman and Tony Pulis. It was correct, so that’s all."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "I want to control the game. We know how we are going to play tomorrow - and we know we’re going to play a real good team.

“I saw the official games United have played and in every game they’ve played better than in the one before. Like us.

“We’ll try to continue the things we did good and correct and improve the other things. We played have good in some moments.”

More from Jose Mourinho on his South American players returning from international duty: "Antonio Valencia was able to get one direct flight to Madrid. Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo went around the globe, Venezuela, Argentina, Europe. Manchester City spent money to bring them on direct flight - or sent the owner's plane. Our boys arrived this morning in time to train."

Jose Mourinho had plenty of praise for Pep Guardiola.

"City are a very good team with a very good manager. They are a title contenders and you have to respect them.

Speaking about being involved in his first derby he added: "I am normal. When you are in the first phase of the season no match is more important than the other.

"I know what the derby means. I played them everywhere but I always want to be in a position of emotional control. If we want to win we have to be at the top."

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero will miss the derby after being banned for three games. The striker was found guilty of violent conduct after he elbowed West Ham's Winston Reid.

But Jose Mourinho said the Argentinean's absence could cause more problems.

"It is more difficult. When Aguero is available he plays we know their formation. He doesn't play and they have amazing options. Could be Iheanacho, Sterling, Silva as a false nine. They have so many options. We have to go step by step. We have to reduce the unpredictability."
