Classic Aaron Rodgers, making plays he has no right to make.

Credit to the Green Bay offensive line as, backed up right near their own endzone on third and 15, they give Rodgers time and he rolls out to his right to drill a super throw to Allen Lazard down the touchline.

It looked certain they would have to punt again there but Rodgers is a master in those situations.

    How big could that be?

Tom Brady fires an on-the-money pass to Tyler Johnson for what would have been a Tampa Bay first down deep into Green Bay territory.

But the rookie receiver juggles and drops it - and Brady is sacked on the next play, forcing the Buccaneers to punt.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-0 Green Bay Packers

Green Bay's defense is going to need to step up here.

The Packers rely on their explosive offense but they need a stop here to avoid a large early deficit.

Tom Brady has guided Tampa Bay's second drive to the edge of midfield already.

Brilliant scripted play. What I love is what they did on the third down, three for three, they attacked [Chandon] Sullivan and went at him twice and had two big catches.

Now the Packers coach will be saying to him 'you have to step up your game'.

Decent response from Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay.

The Packers quarterback finds tight end Mercedes Lewis free down the centre as Green Bay approach midfield.

But that's where the drive ends as, after a couple of nothing plays, Rodgers is sacked by Shaq Barrett and the Packers have to punt.

Andrew Priestley: Brady and Gronk are well used to playing January play-off football in the freezing cold, but they’ve never had to experience the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field at this time of year. An Aaron Rodgers masterclass is incoming.

Ken Smith: Predicting a Packers v Bills Super Bowl.

Ian: Would dearly love to see the Bills win the Super Bowl but I’ve a sneaky feeling it’s Green Bay’s trophy this year.

It's going to need a Rodgers masterclass judging by that opening Tampa drive, Andrew. Keep your Super Bowl predictions and wishes coming.

Touchdown - Buccaneerspublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-0 Green Bay Packers

What a start for the Bucs.

Tampa convert three straight third downs to take the lead in dominant fashion.

Much like he did earlier in the drive, Tom Brady lofts a simple pass over a Green Bay defender for wide receiver Mike Evans. The difference this time is that's in the endzone for a 15-yard touchdown.

First blood to Brady and Tampa.

Tom Brady wastes absolutely no time reminding people why he is the GOAT.

Third down and he lofts a 27-yard pass over the top for Mike Evans to put the Buccaneers into Green Bay territory with just two minutes played.

Another third down throw finds Chris Godwin after a run went nowhere. The Bucs are in the redzone already.

  10. Kick-offpublished at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    And we're under way.

Tampa receive the kick-off and Jaydon Mickens produces a decent return out to the 34-yard line to give Tom Brady a decent starting position.

  13. Brown out for Bucspublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Green Bay Packers (20:05 GMT)

The big injury news ahead of the NFC Championship game is that Tampa Bay wide receiver Antonio Brown is out with a knee injury.

The Green Bay Packers have virtually a clean bill of health with no fresh worries.

  14. How did they get here?published at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Green Bay Packers (20:05 GMT)

As top seeds, Green Bay, who ended the season with a 13-3 record, avoided the wildcard round and produced an impressive display to down the vaunted Los Angeles Rams' defense 32-18 in the divisional round last weekend.

Fifth seeds Tampa Bay (11-5), meanwhile, have won two play-off games on the road and are seeking a third after winning 31-23 at Washington, then stunning Drew Brees' New Orleans Saints 30-20.

    Osi Umenyiora
    Two-time Super Bowl winner

Green Bay are a very balanced football team and Aaron Rodgers is playing out of his mind right now, but I'm going to have to go with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There is something sneaky about this team, there is something about Tom Brady having been in this situation so many times before. I feel like he's going to be able to pull this team through.

    Jason Bell

I'm going to have to go with Green Bay. They are at home but that's not the only reason, it's because they are balanced on offence. Their run-pass game is married to each other, it is efficient and effective and Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL right now.

He is so chilled back there. That dude looks like he's on the beach having a mai tai, I can't believe the level of confidence he is playing with.

  19. Can Packers shake 'nearly men' tag?published at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Green Bay Packers (20:05 GMT)

It remains a mystery how Aaron Rodgers has not added to his single Super Bowl triumph a decade ago.

In that time, the Packers have lost three NFC Championship games - to the Seattle Seahawks in 2014, the Atlanta Falcons in 2017 and the San Francisco 49ers last year.

Had they beaten Seattle and/or Atlanta, they would have faced Tom Brady's New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

But all three of those aforementioned defeats came on the road. Will home field advantage at Lambeau - a freezing cold, snow-hit Lambeau at that - help the Pack make it fourth time lucky?

  20. Rodgers v Bradypublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Green Bay Packers (20:05 GMT)

OK, we said, it's not all about Aaron Rodgers v Tom Brady.

But the outcome of tonight's NFC Conference Championship will surely rest on their vastly experienced shoulders.

At 43 (Brady) and 37 (Rodgers), their combined age of 80 years and 227 days is the oldest total of any two starting quarterbacks in a Championship game.

They hold countless records between them but have only met head-to-head on three occasions - Brady holding a 2-1 advantage, including a 38-10 Bucs win over the Packers earlier this season.
