  2. Chiefs puntpublished at 23:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 10-17 Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs' offensive line is working overtime to prevent Jacksonville getting to Patrick Mahomes here.

A third-down pass is just too high for double touchdown scorer Travis Kelce though.

That forces a Kansas City punt, which the Jags return to around their 15-yard line.

  3. Postpublished at 23:08 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 10-17 Kansas City Chiefs

    He's not right at all.

It doesn't bother him though - on third down and one, he basically hobbles over the gain line to get the Chiefs a fresh set of downs.

Kansas City really have to protect Mahomes here. Maybe from himself, as much as from the Jags.

  4. Kick-off - and Mahomes is backpublished at 23:06 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 10-17 Kansas City Chiefs

Jacksonville kick off to the start the second half - and Patrick Mahomes is back out to lead the Kansas City Chiefs.

Can't say he looks 100 per cent though.

  7. Jags 'right where we want to be'published at 22:58 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jags head coach Doug Pederson does the fascinating pitchside interview at half-time:

"It's right where we want to be, being down at the half right? Our mentality is that we’re in this game and we give ourselves a chance in this second half.

On facing Henne and not Mahomes: "He’s (Mahomes) maybe got a bit more mobility, escapability from the pocket and that ability to create the off schedule type play, but hey listen he (Henne) went down and got them in the end zone so we’ve got to make sure we’ve got it bucked up at half-time."

The Jaguars have had some missed opportunities.

In the play-offs, you only get one chance. That deep throw, Christian Kirk, he needed to come up with it.

But I like how Trevor Lawrence went back to him - that is the key, you've got to get the guy the ball again because you need him going forward.

  9. Half-timepublished at 22:52 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 10-17 Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs just take a knee as we reach half-time and this game will get really, really interesting in the second half with Mahomes looking very much like he's done for the day and Chad Henne will be the man to try and get them into a fifth straight AFC Championship game.

Andrew Priestley: Do the Chiefs risk Mahomes tonight and put the rest of their playoff run in jeopardy, or do they sit him out in a hope of finding a way to win tonight in order to save their playoff chances?

Field goal - Jaguarspublished at 22:47 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 10-17 Kansas City Chiefs

No touchdown, but it's a Riley Patterson field goal from 41 yards that makes it a one-score game again and it's still a promising drive from the Jags who are going toe-to-toe with KC here.

  13. Catching Kirkpublished at 22:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 7-17 Kansas City Chiefs

Christian Kirk does manage to catch this one, which is a dime from Lawrence over the middle for a first down, and he follows up by going to Kirk again on the very next play before having a run out left and flicking a ball to Hasty.

Last week's comeback win over the Chargers seems to have given Lawrence a huge boost and he's firing it around nicely.

  14. So close!published at 22:41 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 7-17 Kansas City Chiefs

Wow! Trevor Lawrence just unleashed hell with a 60-yard bomb downfield for Christian Kirk, who had got in behind the Chiefs but could just not gather the ball on the dive for what would've been a huge play in this game.

A big warning shot though for the Chiefs that the top pick can sling it.

  15. Jags run it backpublished at 22:39 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 7-17 Kansas City Chiefs

Right then, what has Doug Pederson got in his box of tricks? First up it's some tough running by Travis Etienne to get a first down.

Touchdown - Chiefspublished at 22:33 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 7-17 Kansas City Chiefs

The QB may be different but the scorer is the same, as Chad Henne finds touchdown machine Travis Kelce again for his second of the game.

Maybe they can manage without Patrick Mahomes after all? Because that's an almighty drive from the Chiefs as they've gone coast-to-coast starting with Henne throwing from inside his own end zone and ending with the back-up hitting Kelce for the TD.

Big play alert from running back Isiah Pacheco! He's usually banging head down in between the tackles but he shows his wheels here as he gets outside and turns on the jets and he's away!

He gets 39 yards and just a couple more to go for the end zone.

  19. Mahomes questionable to returnpublished at 22:32 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 7-10 Kansas City Chiefs

That ankle injury means Patrick Mahomes is on the sidelines for now and we might be seeing a lot more of Chad Henne under centre for the Chiefs.

  20. Henne hit hardpublished at 22:30 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars 7-10 Kansas City Chiefs

Chad Henne converts on third down thanks to Travis Kelce - but Henne is also popped late as he let that one go and that brings a flag and an extra 15 yards for the Chiefs.

The Jags may fancy knocking two Chiefs QBs out of the game!
