Only one NFC team hasn't been to a Super Bowl, bet you can't guess which one? Yep, it's the Lions, but they have the chance to fix that next week.

Baker Mayfield was excellent on the road but just had those two interceptions, while Jared Goff was mistake-free and led his team brilliantly in the second half.

For the first time since 1957 the Detroit Lions have won two play-off games in a season, as they head off for just their second NFC title game and the chance to finally get into the Super Bowl for the first time.

They lost eight play-off games between 1995 and 2016. They had that famous 0-16 season in 2018. The 49ers are going to be favourites next week but maybe not by as much as people thought and a lot of people are going to have the Lions as a sneaky upset pick.

Here's the game! Huge stop from Tampa Bay forces a Detroit punt and now Baker Mayfield will come back on the field with 90 yards to go to try and save this game and keep their season alive.

    Can he do it?

  7. Lions running the clockpublished at 23:04 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-31 Detroit Lions

Detroit want to play keep ball now, which is helped when a sack of Jared Goff is taken away by a silly penalty by Carlton Davis - that's a criminal flag to get at this stage of the game.

  8. Can Lions hold on to the ball?published at 23:00 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

The biggest thing there was not to chew up five minutes there for the Bucs. With 4:37 left, the question is can the Lions keep the ball long enough to force the Bucs to use up their timeouts.

Not that he hasn't been all day, but Baker Mayfield is really swinging for the fences now, and he's fired a rocket for Mike Evans to score.

The throw was majestic from Mayfield as it exploded out of his hand and only gave the big bodied Evans the chance to catch it - not really sure how you defend that!

That superb drive took less than two minutes but they remain eight points behind as they opted to go for the two-point conversion but it was no good.

It means that they'll need to find a two-pointer if they score again - provided they can get a stop!

  10. Great play!published at 22:54 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17-31 Detroit Lions

Think Baker Mayfield has given this up? Not one chance! Again he's under pressure, but he hangs tough, escapes out the front door and then finds Mike Evans for the first down.

That's a big-time completion right there from the former number one overall pick.

What an amazing drive and a lovely pass to the back corner of the endzone from Goff. He gets it at one of the biggest moment. Now Tampa are 14 points down and the clock is a massive issue. You’ve got to score quickly and then your defence get a stop.

And it's there! Jared Goff floats a ball over the top for Amon-Ram St Brown for a nine-yard touchdown that could be the killer blow.

That's absolutely textbook stuff from the Lions, with a 10-play drive going 89 yards and a superb touchdown connection at the end of it.

Detroit have now gone touchdown-touchdown-touchdown on their last three drives and they've motored away from Tampa Bay.

Jared Goff needs 15 yards, and he gets 16 thanks to a second effort from Amon-Ra St Brown who fights and scraps his way to a first down.

And the very next play, Goof hits Jahmyr Gibbs with a short pass and the rookie rushers takes it 20 yards and into the red zone

Touchdown - Lions!published at 22:31 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17-24 Detroit Lions

Rookie Jahmyr Gibbs makes the breakthrough - another one for Detroit - with a brilliant 31-yard touchdown run that showed exactly why the Lions spent a first-round pick on him.

Gibbs bursts through a big gap in the middle of the line and once he's in the open field he dances beyond Antoine Winfield, who had no chance#.

That's the 12th rushing TD of the season for the rookie.
