    Bristol City 0-1 Middlesbrough

At Ashton Gate, the second half has continued to look a lot like the first.

It's pretty end-to-end but no real clear-cut chances.

Boro's Neto Borges cut a ball into the middle of the box but he couldn't find a blue shirt, while Bristol City's Mark Sykes saw his strike from an angle on the right go straight into the keeper's mitts.

  2. 'What an odd first half'published at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    HT: Burnley 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Steve Eyre
Former Manchester City coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

    What an odd first half.

Burnley have been second best, but lead through the best player on the pitch, Marcus Edwards.

Advantage Clarets, but the better team to watch under the lights at Turf Moor have been the opposition.

Burnley lead at the break through Marcus Edwards' brilliance in their only real moment of inspiration.

Their run of league clean sheets stretches to 1,045 minutes, too, but it had been a display to forget for the automatic promotion hopefuls before Edwards intervened.

Wednesday had looked much the more likely to score in pursuit of a win that would move them level on points with sixth-placed West Bromwich Albion, hitting the outside of a post through the unexpected attacking poise of Michael Ihiekwe early on, although they've done very little from a string of corners.

Burnley, who struck the crossbar through a swirling Edwards effort from an angle, will move two points behind second-placed Sheffield United with a game less to play if they win.

  4. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Bristol City 0-1 Middlesbrough

Tommy Conway scoring against his former club at the ground he honed his skills seems like it could have been written in a Hollywood script.

But what story does Ashton Gate wish to tell in the second half?

We are back under way in Bristol.

  5. 'A really bad goal to concede'published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    John Pearson
Former Sheffield Wednesday forward on BBC Radio Sheffield

A really bad goal to concede from our point of view.

A real kick in the teeth.

Burnley with their second chance of the game and that is the difference, they took their chance.

Burnley have been second best for most of this first half, but when it mattered, a bit of class.

  6. goal

GOAL: Burnley 1-0 Sheffield Wednesdaypublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Marcus Edwards (43 mins)

Burnley's first meaningful attack produces a goal for Marcus Edwards!

The on-loan Sporting winger scores for a second time in four Clarets appearances, showing silky footwork inside the box on the right and profiting from a ricochet off Shea Charles to lift a left-footed finish from an angle into the roof of the net.

Cruel on Wednesday, who've fashioned much the better chances.

  7. Postpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

A reminder that this referee has not sent anyone off this year so far, but there are now three players on a yellow card.

  8. Postpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

11 of Burnley's 33 Championship games this season have ended goalless.

    Bonkers.

  9. Postpublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Burnley creative trio Zian Flemming, Hannibal and Jaidon Anthony are three of the five players to have had the fewest touches so far, which says a lot about how their team are toiling.

The hosts string together a sharp passing move and enter the box, ending with a collective groan from some of their fans as Wednesday intercept with ease and clear.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Burnley's Lucas Pires is booked for bringing down the lively Djeidi Gassama, who looks a difficult man to mark. Opposition left-back Marvin Johnson was also cautioned earlier.

Burnley had more than 67% of play during the opening 27 minutes, but they're yet to find fluency and have produced only one of the five attempts at goal between the teams.

Neither side has had an effort on target, but the woodwork has been wobbled at both ends.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Bristol City 0-1 Middlesbrough

Bristol City trail Middlesbrough at the break thanks to a goal by none other than Tommy Conway, a player the Robins developed from the age of seven.

Conway got his head on the ball following Max O'Leary's parried save to put the visitors ahead.

Just before the break, Bristol City had a chance of an equaliser in a similar fashion when Boro keeper Mark Travers' save found Scott Twine, but he couldn't keep his shot down.

How this one is going to end up is anybody's bet.

  13. 'Conway had barely had a touch'published at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Bristol City 0-1 Middlesbrough

    Sophie Hurcom
    BBC Sport at Ashton Gate

Tommy Conway had barely had much of a touch on the ball this opening half an hour, Bristol City's players were closing him down so much.

But as he has done so many times before at Ashton Gate, he did not miss when he had one chance to put the ball into an open net.

Bristol City had really been dialling up the pressure in the 10 minutes before that goal, too, seeing three efforts go begging and pinning Middlesbrough largely into their own half.

Safe to say the boos that were heard at the start from the home fans are even louder now.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

The tricky weather noticeably plays its part for the first time at Turf Moor.

Full Wednesday debutant Marcus Edwards curls a cross-shot from the right against the top of the crossbar, with goalkeeper James Beadle backpedalling and struggling to read the flight of the ball in the wind.

The closest Burnley have gone so far.

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Visiting manager Danny Rohl taps both hands at the dugout in endearingly polite frustration.

Marvin Johnson hammered a crossfield pass to Djeidi Gassama, whose delivery from the right found Josh Windass in front of goal.

Maxime Esteve produced a vital block to divert Windass' finish behind.

  16. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 0-1 Middlesbroughpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Tommy Conway (36 mins)

    Who else?!

Boro's Kelechi Iheanacho is gifted freedom by the Robins defence as he cuts inside the defender and strikes.

City keeper Max O'Leary parries it away but straight into the path of a bursting Tommy Conway, who heads it home.

The home crowd have not reacted well to that goal from their former home-grown forward. Not. At. All.

  17. 'Sheffield Wednesday have started really brightly'published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Golden chance for Stuart Amstrong, tucked just wide.

He should have scored, he has missed by centimetres.

The run of clean sheets should have ended there.

Burnley are off it, they have not defended three bouncing balls into the box.

Sheffield Wednesday have started really brightly.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Wednesday should score!

An incisive counter-attack culminates in Djeidi Gassama firing in an excellent low cross from inside the box on the right.

Stuart Armstrong is in space and six yards out at the near post, but can only roll his finish wide of the far upright.

  19. CLOSE!published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Robins forward Sinclair Armstrong strikes a clean, pacey ball from outside the box that has the keeper beaten but it maintains its height for that little bit too long and goes sailing just above the bar.

Great effort but no pay off.

  20. Postpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

    Burnley 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

It's a familiar refrain from away fans across the country every week, but Wednesday's fans are loudly likening Turf Moor to a library.

In fairness to the home supporters, Burnley took more than 10 minutes to vaguely threaten, when Hannibal could not reach an overhit pass ahead of goalkeeper James Beadle.

Sheffield Wednesday respond by wasting another corner, taking it short and immediately falling foul of the offside trap.
