    Younus 101, Sarfraz 17

Sarfraz cuts Anderson for four to push Pakistan's lead into double figures - a single brings Younus on strike and he plays the last ball of the day back to the bowler to end his day's work on 101 from 144 balls.

    Lead by seven

The day is drawing to a close as Younus stands tall to defend against Finn. Probably time for one more over.

Stand by for more cricket on the radio after this, though - BBC Radio 5 live sports extra will have commentary on the Women's Super League game between Lancashire Thunder and Yorkshire Diamonds after this one finishes.

...but it was more in hope than expectation, Sarfraz is easily home.

Now here's a funny moment. Sarfraz sets off for a run, is sent back the throw comes in to Bairstow and he takes the bails off even though Sarfraz's bat looks grounded beyond the line. They're going to go upstairs just in case...

    Younus 100, Sarfraz 11

Time for a quick burst from James Anderson, wicketless in this game, from the Vauxhall End as the day draws to a close. Sarfraz swipes a four square of the wicket to take the score to triple Nelson.

That is Younus' fourth century against England. It's his second in England. He made 173 at Headingley in 2006. It's his fourth quickest century. He has converted 30 of his scores in the nineties to 100, going past Don Bradman's 29.

    Lead by one

With England's lead down to four runs, Sarfraz looks like he's playing for the close here - perhaps aware there's not a great deal of batting to come after him, just Pakistan's three pace bowlers. And Sarfraz shows his skills, stepping forward and clipping a length ball from outside off stump for four through mid-wicket. A very confident shot, and the scores are level. A single to third man puts Pakistan in the ascendancy.

Well played Younus Khan. It wasn't one of his stylish innings but you can see what it meant to him. He's done his job well.

    Pak 323-6

And there it is - Younus Khan, aged 38 years and 257 days, sedately guides Woakes for a single to reach his 32nd Test century. Not quite one of his most elegant, but they all count.

    Seven overs left today

Younus wants a single - just like Shafiq, he nearly presses the panic button on 99 before Sarfraz sends him back. And as Younus has to defend a good delivery from Broad, the wait goes on.

I expressed a hope earlier that England might get the full 90 overs in today. (As if that's not too much to ask, chaps). But unless they turn to spin, I'd say they're unlikely to bowl seven overs of seam in 20 minutes.

    Younus 99, Sarfraz 1

We last checked in with Younus when he had just reached 99 - he's lost two batting partners in that last over. Broad posts a deep backward square leg for Sarfraz, and a single brings Younus on strike...

    Trail by eight

Geoffrey often says "add two wickets to the score" - and that's what Chris Woakes has just done in the space of five deliveries. Keeper Sarfraz Ahmed is the new man in, and England still hold a narrow lead.

Not a good shot and a very good catch by Moeen. He judged it to perfection. Good thinking by Woakes to bowl it short on the off-stump line. It was a difficult angle for him to hit and he will be disappointed with that after hitting a good drive.

    Iftikhar c Moeen b Woakes 4 (Pak 320-6)

Iftikhar Ahmed in for his debut Test innings - and it only lasts four deliveries, as after executing a fluent straight drive for four off his third ball, he tries to blast his fourth through mid-wicket, miscues it and is well caught by Moeen Ali running back at mid-on.
