  1. Pkn 300-6published at 48 overs

3 more needed from 12 balls

Another authoritative stroke from Rizwan back down the ground past bowler Wood brings him his fourth boundary and Pakistan are only one hit away now, so coach Mickey Arthur can smile freely again.

It was a fraction shorter from Jordan but he hit it on the up and you feel it's only a matter of time.

  3. Pkn 292-6published at 47 overs

11 more needed from 18 balls

Jordan back in the attack, a respectable delivery is lashed through the covers by the tall left-hander Imad. Looking bleak for England now in the rain and the Pakistan flags are being waved jubilantly.

Here's that superb piece of fielding from Jonny Bairstow to run out Nawaz.

  5. ouch!

    Pkn 286-6published at 46 overs

17 more needed from 24 balls

Right first time captain Rainford-Brent. Wood returns and if he cannot inspire an England victory he can take delight from pinning Rizwan in the privates. Not quite such a debilitating moment as Stokes suffered earlier, just some grimacing and a drop to the haunches. Composure fully regained, Rizwan pulls a short final ball to the boundary and the Pakistan followers rejoice to the strains of Hey Jude.

It's got to be Mark Wood here with his extra pace. He needs to bowl straight, if they miss he hits. The other option is Chris Woakes, who's a reliable bowler.

  7. Pkn 279-6published at 45 overs

24 more needed from 30 balls

A few drops of rain can be seen under the increasingly bright lights, I don't think they will come off at this stage though, but Pakistan would be comfortably ahead on D/L in any case. Willey keeps it tight (you're better than that) and just three singles are accrued.

Andy Norman: Keep things in perspective, spinners in ODIs will always be targeted, give Dawson a chance!

Jon Dunn: 91% of runs scored off Dawson are on the leg side. A slight indicator that he may be bowling the wrong line.

  9. Pkn 276-6published at 44 overs

27 more needed from 36 balls

Any pressure that might have been building is swiftly eradicated by Rizwan, sweeping Dawson's opening delivery to the boundary.

Here's the end of Shoaib Malik's superb innings of 77 from 80 balls as debutant Liam Dawson collects a second wicket.

You see keepers practising throwing a glove off to throw down the stumps like that. Bairstow stayed low and his arm came through like a whippet. He's a bit lighter today with his facial hair removed!

  12. Pkn 266-6published at 43 overs

37 more needed from 42 balls

Only the second maiden of the innings, and Willey has bowled them both. Mickey Arthur doesn't look quite so relaxed on the balcony now.

Nawaz run out (Bairstow) 2 (Pkn 266-6)

Inspired from Bairstow, he whips off the gloves and throws down the stumps, Nawaz a foot short of his crease. Pakistan are not going to... are they... well I can't use that phrase. There are 37 needed from 46 balls with four wickets intact.

  14. Pkn 266-5published at 42 overs

    Dawson 2-60 from 7

A second over without  a boundary from Dawson. There is only one dot ball, mind you, but the others are all only singles.

Peter: Canny by Pakistan - get the win in the bag, then gift some wickets to Dawson to keep him in the side.

Rustique Chairs: Re: Dawson's first England wicket. Excellent man management from his skipper. Maybe the diff' tween a fruitful career or not.

  16. Pkn 261-5published at 41 overs

42 more needed from 54 balls

The spirited Rizwan drives Willey for four but the England left-armer restricts the scoring to just a single from the remaining five balls of the over.

A proud moment for Hampshire's Liam Dawson, his maiden ODI wicket.

There won't be much confidence in Pakistan's lower order. And well done to Dawson - after that first spell, you might be tempted to throw a few flat ones in, but he gave it a bit of flight there.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 40 overs

    Malik c Roy b Dawson 77 (Pkn 256-5)

Malik had just played the most imperious stroke to the England left-arm spinner, dancing down the wicket and launching it down the ground for six, but in attempting to repeat the stroke he is caught on the boundary. Two new batsmen at the crease, 47 needed from 60 balls.
