It's only three days until the next Test starts, there's a case for just batting out tomorrow and giving the bowlers that extra day of rest. 

More from Adil Rashid: "We still have batting to do. We just have to get to lunchtime or tea or whenever it is and see if we can put the pressure on. We've got to have the belief we can do that."

We were all waiting to see how young Hameed batted after a long spell in the field. But no problem. Piece of cake for him. 

England spinner Adil Rashid, who took 4-114, on Sky Sports: "To get a lead of 160-odd, we're in a great position and we can perform tomorrow with the ball."

(On debutant Haseeb Hameed's unbeaten 62) "He's a quiet boy but he works very hard, he's very organised and has had a good temperament. He's tricky to bowl at, he uses his feet a lot. He works very hard in the nets and it has shown today.

"I have been working hard in the nets too with Saqqy. (England spin consultant Saqlain Mushtaq) He's been around for years and to give that information to us is very helpful."

I can't see England winning this game. I don't think there is enough time for either team to take advantage. 

A reminder of what took place today. India resumed on 319-4 and lost the big wickets of Rahane and Kohli in the first hour, the captain treading on his stumps as he played back to spinner Rashid, who went on to take four wickets.

Ashwin made 70, putting on 64 with Saha and then 29 for the final wicket with Shami before India were all out for 488 on the stroke of tea, a first-innings deficit of 49.

Debutant Haseeb Hameed then compiled a masterful maiden Test fifty and finished on 62, with his captain Alastair Cook 46, England 114-0 and with a lead of 163.

Mishra produces a beauty from round the wicket to Hameed with the final ball of the day. It spins from way outside leg across the batsman and misses off by a distance, rather like a Warne special, but Hameed watches it carefully and there is no danger.

That is the end of day four. With a first innings lead of only 49 there was a danger the tourists could have got themselves in trouble with the loss of a few early wickets, as has happened plenty of times recently, but this superb partnership has blunted that fear.

A slip, leg gully and short leg as Jadeja returns to Cook. The skipper would like a fifty, he only has one in his last seven innings, but plays out a maiden and is unlikely to get it here, we have only more over to come.

Mishra again but Hameed is right forward and the ball meets the very centre of the bat once more. Cook pinches the bowling with a controlled sweep for a single. Two overs left.

After that shaky start, Cook has looked far more comfortable, but he has been rather overshadowed by the mastery of his fresh faced young opening partner. The skipper is into the 40's, however, clipping Ashwin off his pads neatly for two.

Beautifully straight bat from Hameed as he defends, it looks as wide as the front door of 10 Downing Street. He collects a single from the final ball of Mishra's over to take the lead to 150.

If England get enough runs they can set India 300 but I don't think they can push for a win, not in a cat in hell's chance. 

Ashwin again, that distinctive approach to the crease resembling a man trying to scratch his back whilst running with sun-burned feet. He has taken 222 Test wickets with it though, but he cannot break through here. Five overs left today.

Every little helps, England collect four byes as Mishra strays down the leg side. Will there be a declaration? Not overnight of course, but when will it be tomorrow?
