  1. 6 runs

    Ind 403-6published at 132 overs

    partnership 42

Saha down the pitch again to Rashid and he scoops it all the way over the top for the fifth six of the innings, four of them hit by Vijay.

  2. Ind 395-6published at 131 overs

    142 runs behind

Stokes in for his 13th over of the innings, England very mindful of his workload over an arduous winter schedule. The talisman cannot provide a breakthrough this time.

Brilliant - just been woken from an extended Friday night slumber in the armchair by the only dawn chorus you want to hear: the chime of a wicket notification.

    Jonathan Hornby, Beckenham

Excellent, Jonathan. For others wanting to know more about getting themselves a similar 'dawn chorus', have a look over here.

  4. Ind 393-6published at 130 overs

    144 runs behind

Saha down the wicket to Rashid but mis-times it and takes his hand off the bat, fortunate to see it drop between the fielders into the leg side. Is this partnership going to dent the England optimism generated by Kohli's dismissal?

Saha is one of those few players in international cricket who is clearly a keeper first. He's not come through as a batsman and been made into a keeper. He's old-fashioned.

  6. Ind 389-6published at 129 overs

    148 runs behind

It's not easy for Jonny out there behind the stumps, he's picked up a few bruises and Stokes sends one way down the leg side that cannot be collected and trickles away for the 19th bye of the innings.

There's the weathering of a storm by the India batsmen. The biggest threat comes from Rashid, who is bowling well.

  9. Ind 387-6published at 128 overs

    150 runs behind

Saha wants that little tap sweep again but Rashid spins one that bounces over the bat and thuds into Bairstow's shoulder behind the bails, accruing two byes.

  10. Solid start for England's womenpublished at 05:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2016

Ten overs gone in Colombo and England women are 42-0 against Sri Lanka. A win here and England will qualify for the World Cup next summer - which is taking place on home soil.

  11. Ind 384-6published at 127 overs

    153 runs behind

All-round talisman Ben Stokes into the attack for the first time today and Saha tentatively edges him, but it bisects keeper and slip, Bairstow cannot reach it and it bounces short of Cook, racing away for four more.

  12. Ind 378-6published at 126 overs

    Eng 537

Broad diving again at backward point to field an Ashwin cut at Rashid and he has taken a big chunk of skin out of his bowling hand as it plunged into the turf. I am not good with blood so I am not going to look too closely, but it is going to require treatment and he leaves the field.

  14. Ind 376-6published at 125 overs

    161 runs behind

Ansari has a slip and leg slip but it is Broad at backward point who is called into action, tumbling down from 6ft 6ins like a felled tree to save a certain boundary.

  15. Ind 375-6published at 124 overs

    Ashwin 17, Saha 8

Saha plays that sweep again for two more and it is beginning to frustrate Rashid, who will not have seen it too often. It's a deft little stroke, played into the ground and it has been effective so far.

  16. Not out - Ashwin on 16published at 123.1 overs

It was straight. But straight on to the bat. Not out.

No wonder Rashid was reluctant. He was probably telling Bairstow that it hit the bat.

I don't think Rashid was too confident about this. He was persuaded by Bairstow.

Is this an optimistic one? It's an lbw appeal. Given not out.

  20. Ind 372-6published at 123 overs

An unusual sweep from Saha, playing the ball into the ground like he was tapping in a nail, but it brings him two more off Ansari.
