He has earned that, Moeen, he has bowled very well kept them quiet and made them take risks. Good catch from Bairstow, it was quite a big nick and they are not easy.

Gone! England continue to chip away, with Moeen Ali sending Wriddhiman Saha on his way. To be honest, it's not a great delivery from Moeen, short and wide, but Saha plays the cut shot about as well as his namesake Louis. Touch of extra bounce, edge through to Jonny Bairstow. One more, and England will feel well on top.

I reckon 25 runs, if not more, have been saved by England's outstanding ground fielding.

Now James Anderson is out in India, I wonder if Steven Finn and Jake Ball can get off home? They are basically on holiday. To prove my point, Finn has hit feet up in the dugout, just about summoning enough energy to stroke Anderson's ear. Having said that, I think Finn will be called upon to deliver a box to Joe Root. Root goes under the lid at silly point, then waves to the dressing room and points to his, erm, groin. Be careful, Joe. Think of the little Roots.

I wonder whether it might be time for spin from both ends. Alastair Cook has plenty of options but I think he has slightly over-bowled the spinners in a spell so the batsmen get used to them.

Clouds are an endangered species in this part of the world. We haven't seen one for four days, just a red-hot sphere burning from the overhead blue. Woakes is now going full to Ashwin, getting a hint of reverse tail into the right-hander with two catchers lurking on the leg side. Very good maiden over.

I say that England should pitch it up to Ashwin because the big man likes to hang on the back foot. Hello, this is close. Again Ashwin goes back to a length ball, this time from Moeen. It hurries on to him and would have been outer than Outy McOut had Ashwin not got an inside edge.

The entire England side look physically strong, and Chris Woakes epitomises that. The way they have performed in the field is fantastic.

Not that I'm against putting the tree up on 1 December. I like to squeeze every last second out of the festive period. Woakes continues to get bounce - his ball is heavier than anyone else in the match. He's running in towards the Lord's replica media centre as Alastair Cook looks to the sky and pushes out his cheeks. I'm not sure about bowling short to Ashwin - pitch it up.

If you did an English translation of Ravichandran Ashwin's first name, it's 'sun and moon'.

Conversation on the live text desk has turned to Christmas trees. One man, who shall go unnamed, has asked that the cricket Christmas curry is not held on 1 December because that is the day his family put the tree up. How long does it take to erect a Christmas tree? Two hours max? Three if you have to go to B&Q for some new lights? Surely not so long that a man can't have a ruby that night?

Saha is not a big man, and he kind of let it hit him in the end. Woakes was actually quite surprised it hit him because it wasn't really intended to be a bouncer.

Chris Woakes, a man who has his hair cut every 10 days or so, after the break. Shots of the India dressing room show Amit Mishra tucking in. I swear that every time we see that balcony, Mishra is stuffing his face. No wonder he didn't hang around long as nightwatchman. Hello, Woakes again. Three times Woakes hit Cheteshwar Pujara yesterday, now Saha is ducking into a bumper. If Woakes keeps going like this we'll have to nickname him 'the Boxer', because he keeps hitting people on the head.

It seems to be this end, which Moeen is bowling from, which offers the potential for things to happen quickly.

This session is probably the ball game. If England can bowl India out by tea, then they might still have a sniff. If India are still batting by the next break, then they are likely to be the only team who can win. The stadium is pretty much empty in warm Rajkot, but there's still some noise. A couple of singles after lunch.

Ready to go. Wriddiham Saha on strike, Moeen Ali with the ball.

A lead of 70-80 runs will be very useful for England, if they can bowl out India.

Cheers, JL. Good from you. Morning. I can tell you that it's cold and wet outside. There's no need to move from underneath the duvet. Roll over, wrap up and dream that Australia have been bowled out for 85.

Now Stephan Shemilt is feeling festive. He's seen that new TV ad and he is going to warm your cockles with the afternoon session.
