  3. Australia-SA updatepublished at 06:33 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2016

Looks like a spicy surface over in Hobart, where it is day one of the second Test.

South Africa, having bowled out Australia for 85, have advanced to 141-5, Hashim Amla out for 47 and Temba Bavuma unbeaten on 29.

The South Africans are already 1-0 up in the three-match series.

This effort from Quinton de Kock would surely have received an "oh what a CATCH!" from the very much missed Richie Benaud. And what would Greigy have made of it?

  4. Morning session summarypublished at 06:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2016

England made a confident start, claiming the important wickets of Rahane and Kohli in the space of 17 balls during the first hour, the captain out in unusual fashion after his left foot trod on the stumps playing back to Rashid and dislodged the bails.

But an unbroken partnership of 50 between Ashwin and Saha defied the tourists and took India to lunch at 411-6, 126 runs behind, with 92 coming in the 28.3 over session for the loss of those two wickets.

I don't think England did anything wrong. Maybe Moeen could have bowled earlier - Rashid bowled nine or 10 overs in his spell. It's hard work to take wickets, but England might still get a lead.

We thought this morning that it was going England's way after they took the two wickets. There was a little bit of turn and bounce for the spinners and there was a chance. But, it's faded. It's still a very good batting surface. Ashwin has played beautifully - both batsmen have looked comfortable.

  12. Lunchpublished at 137 overs

    Ind 411-6 (126 runs behind)

Fifty partnership from 104 balls and it has been very timely for India after the loss of two leading batsmen. Ashwin and Saha have looked very competent and both head for their lunch unbeaten on 29.

Pete Bann: This England side working really hard, one big push and maybe we could have a 50 plus run lead.

  14. Ind 409-6published at 136 overs

    Ashwin 28, Saha 28

Moeen for the first time this morning and he finds some expansive turn into the right-handed Ashwin, who gets an inside edge before the ball hits his pad, denying a certain lbw.

Thoroughbred Stokes is OK to continue and he returns his second maiden, with figures of 1-49 from 15.

Just when England sensed an opportunity, this pair have snatched it away from them. They have been busy at the crease.

Rashid again, conceding four consecutive singles to release the pressure somewhat. The fitness of Stokes is always a concern and he is on his back, rubbing his thighs frenetically like Vic Reeves used to in Shooting Stars - maybe not quite like that.

  19. Ind 404-6published at 133 overs

    133 runs behind

Stokes is up at 86mph and he tries the old sand shoe crusher as the big bird Joel Garner used to do so magnificently. Saha digs it out a little awkwardly, but the most important factor from an Indian point out view is that he survives.
