James Newton-Brown: Gareth Batty to end his England career with a match winning five-for?
Target 103
England take a leaf out of India's book, with the leg-spin of Adil Rashid introduced in the sixth over. His radar is slightly awry, and when he does toss one up in a decent area, Pujara steps out to unleash a sumptuous drive through extra cover. Shot of the day, maybe even the match. Four byes down the leg side - through wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow's legs - hardly not improve England's mood as the players trot off for tea.

Alex Howarth: One down nine to go! Come on England.
Pravin Kumar: Indian players are going to make this one interesting. Come on England we need a nail biter.
Target 103
More short stuff from England but Pujara is too good. Successive boundaries off the back foot - to third man and then with even more authority through cover point. Glorious from the batsman. Less so for England, whose tactics seem risky at best.

Woakes is not bowling that well at Patel. You've got to get it close to his body and get it up to his chest, not the hip.
Target 103
Parthiv Patel punching into the covers, Ben Stokes scrambling to keep him on strike. Patel's response: to pull Woakes from outside off stump dismissively through the leg side for four, then cut behind point for another. Every ball in that over was short.

In 1882 England were bowled out for 77, chasing 85 to win against Australia. It was quite a famous game - it was the start of the Ashes.
The only other time a side were bowled out chasing less than 103 in Tests was Zimbabwe for 63 when they were chasing 99 against West Indies in Port of Spain in 2000.
Ind 8-1
Nope, not a peep. Clear air between ball and glove. A good delivery, mind. England are ticking.
Ind 8-1
If England are to have any chance of a remarkable victory here, that's the sort of start they needed. Hang on - we might have another. Anderson finds extra bounce, there are half-hearted appeals for caught behind as Cheteshwar Pujara fends and misses in front of his snozzer. The umpire says no. England want another look...

Good, short ball. I think I've seen him out like that once or twice. A wicket for Woakes - he hasn't had many in this series. That will cheer England up.
Vijay c Root b Woakes 0 (Ind 7-1)
What do we have here then...? Woakes strikes. It's short to Murali Vijay, who can't get his bat out of the way of a lifter. Joe Root makes no mistake in front of his face at second slip. Simple catch.
Target 103
Thanks Amy. So, a walk in the park for India, or a day in the fells without a map? Seven off two balls from Parthiv Patel suggests the former. First he punches off the back foot through cover for four, then collects three back past the bowler, Chris Woakes.
Target 103
Two slips for Anderson. India's seamers got their wickets with pace. Anderson takes a similar approach first up, with a well-directed short ball that whizzes past Mural Vijay's nose. There's further groans as another ball bounces tantalisingly over the stumps. A maiden to get things underway.
I'm going to take a bow and practise my forward defensive. I'll leave you in Justin Goulding's capable hands.
So, India need 103 to win. If it wasn't for Haseeb Hameed they'd be chasing a lot less. James Anderson will get things underway.

I can't see India having too many problems chasing 103 on this pitch. The problem came in the first innings, getting bowled out for 283, but even in the second innings they should be getting over 300.

Haseeb Hameed has got a good array of strokes. He's a proper player. With the way he played in the second innings, it's even more bizarre that he didn't bat yesterday. The opening position has been a problem for a few years for England. Well, I think they've found one.
Kohli, Rahane and Vijay all run over to shake Haseeb Hameed's hand as he walks off the pitch. What a superb, battling innings. He finishes unbeaten on 59.
Anderson run out 5 (Eng 236)
That's out, I'm afraid. Where was the dive? Hameed was trying to steal a second to make sure he got back on strike, and the throw came in from point. Jadeja chucked the ball to Ashwin, who whipped off the bails, and Anderson was short. So India will need 103 to win.
Eng 235-9
Has Anderson been run out? We're going upstairs...
