Joe Root and Eoin Morgan at the crease, two new batsmen with bags full of experience and class. England have all sorts of time, the required run rate is under seven an over from here. No time to panic.

Yuzvendra Chahal is back on after his double strike in his last over. Last six balls of the powerplay.

England are still in the powerplay overs, there are still opportunities to score. They can't just pat back these final six balls of the fielding restrictions.

How will Root and Morgan approach this now?

Just three runs from Rasool's over as England look to regroup after those two quick wickets. That blistering start from the openers has set the platform for this run chase.

In a house match at school we had a “lower order batsman” who had never played cricket before. He went out to take guard holding the bat the wrong way round. When we shouted “the other way round” to him he went and stood behind the stumps. Just under two deliveries later he was taking his pads off.

India are pumped up now. Sam Billings was playing really well and looked so full of confidence but by coming down the pitch, he's effectively yorked himself.

Like many an office worker playing Stick Cricket, England have struggled with the slower bowlers! Sam Billings comes down the track to give Yuzvendra Chahal some treatment but ends up yorking himself. Two wickets in the over.

When I first started watching cricket as a kid I thought that all the people in the crowd waving the pieces of card with 4/6 on them were voting for how many runs a shot that reached the boundary should be awarded. Kind of like in Ready Steady Cook.

Chahal makes an immediate impact. He got a bit of fortune with the inside edge but we won't begrudge a bowler that in this form of cricket.

Bowled him! India strike as Jason Roy drags one on to the stumps, looked like it hit his back leg on the way through too. Time for Joe Root...

That third over was quiet after the fireworks from Sam Billings in number two. England are still well on track.

Jasprit Bumrah went for 20 in his last over and he's not getting a second go. Here comes Yuzvendra Chahal. Spinners are on. Six first ball!

Jason Roy goes down on one knee and hoiks it. Massive shot.

Roy carries on where Billings left off. He starts off with a two off the pads before a big swing and a big six.

Kohli, Dohni and co have a chat and the outcome is that Nehra will bowl round the wicket. The rest of the over is less eventful - Roy plays and misses one and the following ball is signalled a wide down the legside, despite a tame appeal from the Indian bowler.

A couple more singles to finish off the over.

People are calling for Sam Billings to be a regular in the one-day side. But who do you drop? Alex Hales, not so long ago, hit the highest ever ODI score for England. Then there's Eoin Morgan, the captain. England just can't fit them all in.

Right off the middle of the bat that second four from Sam Billings. Six! Big from Billings and a remarkable shot.

He steps across the wickets, pre-meditated, and whips it back, over the keeper's head and miles over the fence. A 65-metre strike and the second six of the match.

FOUR! Sam Bililngs has got an appointment to get to this afternoon. He's on 21 already.

The sporting equivalent of having me in the comms box that Nick. We'll muddle through as best we can.

Jasprit Bumrah is on for India and his first ball is rudely spanked away for four by Sam Biillings. Rather squirted away, not fully in control but it lobs the fielder and hits the fence.

Four more! Billings on the throttle, fine shot to the fence.

We once played a game against a nearby school and it was clear they had drafted a few ‘players’ in. Their number 9 came in and stood in front of the stumps face-on to the umpire with his bat completely vertical, as if he was playing French cricket. The umpire, assuming the batsman was looking for middle, asked - ‘do you want a guard?’

The batsman looked at him, grabbed his box and said - ‘it’s ok, I’ve got one thanks'.

Jason Roy tickles one away for a single to give Sam Billings his first sight of the ball. It's full and straight and a dot ball before a dab down to third man. Slow and steady start for England.

England will look to play their natural game, get after the bowlers and play proper cricket shots. Given the nature of the pitch, they will want to strike a balance between looking at the conditions and being aggressive.
