England captain Eoin Morgan, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was lost in the last over. You'd win that game 9 times out of 10. First ball, and the decision of that ball didn't go our way. 

"When there is a lot on the line like a World Cup you would need to consider using DRS. Given he was an inexperienced umpire and is human, humans make mistakes. If this was a big game like a World Cup you'd be fuming with it. 

"The game never really got beyond us. Going into the 20th over needing eight runs you should win that. There's been very little between the sides."

Man of the match Jasprit Bumrah: "I tried to assess the wickets and see what has happened in the first innings and what has worked for other bowlers. On this, it was a big ground and a slow wicket so back of the wicket and slower balls were best.

"We all know what Buttler is capable of but I was trying to stick to my plans and bowl stump to stump. There was signficant dew so the ball skids. Back of the wicket deliveries were difficult to hit.

"The confidence from the captain helps. He has given me the freedom to execute the plans. I am happy that we are on the winning end."

India captain Virat Kohli:  "I think it was a really good bowling performance, a strong character performance from the whole side and something I'm very proud of. Nehra has so much experience and knew what he had to do at the end. Bumrah was asking me after every ball what he should do and I said just play your game and if it goes for a six we still wake up tomorrow and eveything is ok. 

"Bengaluru is like my second home and I can't wait to go there (for the final T20), we will be more expressive and try to correct what went wrong here."

England captain Eoin Morgan: "We were in the driving seat, right up until the last over. We didn't start the over well - a decision didn't go our way and losing an in batsman like that hurt us. We bowled really well again. 

"We have struggled to string performances together with the ball, but we have been right on the money in the last two games. The chase never got too far away from us. Joe Root played really well, as did Ben Stokes. It's unbelievably disappointing to lose this game but we have to take it on the chin."

In the IPL they get these situations all the time in front of massive crowds in India where the hope of their fans is on their shoulders. And India have delivered once again. So many times they were up against it. I think when Root and Morgan were at the crease things were in the control. We will always see Stokes going for a 'glory' shot but that's what makes him and you can't reprimand him too much for that. 

There were a couple of shocking decisions (from the umpire) - the reason they don't have DRS is they don't want to slow the game down but if you have the technology you need to go for it because it can be the difference between winning and losing. 

Ashish Nehra: "It was a pressure game, the only thing that was going through my mind was it can be one bad ball or one bad shot, anything can go. I told Bumrah that even if that last ball goes for four we still win the match." 

Jasprit Bumrah: "It's always difficult to bowl in the death because some days you will get hit but I try to remember the good days when I'm bowling and that helped me. I tried to stick to my basics."

Excellent bowling from India. They can be absolutely delighted about how they finished it off. Buttler couldn't get the ball away and that was down to Bumrah and the smart bowling he was producing. But it does mean that it goes to a decider and that is going to a showdown for sure. A small ground, flat pitch, the batsman are going to enjoy themselves. But what a game of cricket today.

India win it! A brilliant final over from Bumrah ends with a dot ball as Moeen swings and misses.

England needed eight off the last and got only two. Credit to that goes primarily to India's seamer.

Chris Jordan makes his way to the square. What a time to be coming in. He can really whack it but England need something special from him right now. He can't connect but runs through for a bye. Six needed from one ball! Moeen Ali will be on strike.
