  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.5 overs

    Pandey b Mills 30 (139-5)

Got him! A slower ball from Mills deceives Pandey as the batsman backs away and the ball shatters the stumps. Great variation from the England seamer.

  2. Ind 137-4published at 18.3 overs

Dhoni changes his bat, presumably for his two-tonne, late-innings thunder-swipe. He gets hold of Mills' second ball but picks out the man at short fine leg. Pandey gets hold of one, though, and sends the ball high and straight over the rope.

  3. Ind 129-4published at 18 overs

As Dhoni walked to the crease I think that may be the loudest cheer from the crowd we have heard today.

India will be hoping for a short cameo from the former captain. He gets off the mark with a quick single. In true Chris Jordan fashion, Jordan bowls a brilliant yorker to Pandey. Great fielding from Ben Stokes on the final ball restricts India to just five singles off the over and the important wicket of Rahul.

What a knock from Rahul, hitting 71 off 47 balls on a pitch which is difficult to bat on. He's given India a chance to set a competitive total. It's played out how they wanted, with Dhoni coming in with three overs to go.

  5. wicket

    Rahul c Stokes b Jordan 71 (Ind 125-4)

The dangerman is gone. Jordan drops short and Rahul picks out Stokes at deep mid-wicket. Timely blow for England. It brings Dhoni to the crease but it halts India's momentum.

Alan Baird: Joe Root is undroppable in any form but Moeen Ali is pretty much there too.

Rahul is causing England all sorts of problems here.

  8. Ind 124-3published at 17 overs

MS Dhoni is sat in the dug out having a drink, which is exactly where England want him. Meanwhile, out in the middle, the home side continue to struggle against Stokes until they get lucky with Rahul's outside edge for four. It is the first boundary since the 14th over.

England just need to get Rahul out. At the moment, India are looking at 150 plus.

  10. Ind 114-3published at 16 overs

England are doing a superb job of not allowing India to build late-innings momentum. Tymal Mills, continuing round the wicket, gives the home side no room to swing and keeps them to singles. Six of them.

Alan Baird: Wouldn't like to see England having to chase much more than 160 on this pitch... As good a T20 team as they are!!

That was a really fine over from Stokes.

  13. Ind 108-3published at 15 overs

Would you believe it? Stokes can't. He has clipped the top of off stump and set the bail flashing but not out of its mooring. Pandey is a lucky boy. Regardless, it is a superb over. Just three singles off it.

I wonder if Eoin Morgan is thinking of giving Joe Root an over or two, given that Dawson has gone for 20 off two.

Peter: Bringing Dawson in looks like a mistake.Hardly bowled on tour and looks like it. Plunkett would of been better pick.

  16. Ind 105-3published at 14 overs

Rahul is hitting very cleanly. He skips down and plants Rashid past extra cover. Eoin Morgan didn't move. He is then given a freebie by the spinner, who drops it wide of leg and allows the fine sweep for four. Good over for the home side. 12 off it. They need a few more of them.

A good spell from Moeen Ali, backing up his 2-21 from the previous game.

  18. Ind 93-3published at 13 overs

Moeen bowls his last for the concession of just six singles. Brilliant spell from the spinner. 4-0-20-1. 3-41 in the series so far. Just one boundary off him. Can't fault that in T20.

Rahul has vindicated India's decision to stick with him ahead of a 19-year-old who has been taking the domestic scene by storm.

Well batted Rahul. A single through mid-wicket brings him 50.
