The average score on this deck in the World T20 was around 120, so India will feel comfortable around the 130-140 mark.

  2. Ind 87-3published at 12 overs

    Pandey 4, Rahul 49

Dawson returns and gets away with a full toss that Pandey strikes to long-on for a single. Rahul then goes big. Very big. He dances down and hammers the ball into the stand over long-on. He then finds the boundary again, through mid-wicket. He has come in for some criticism, the India opener, but he is the main man here.

  3. Ind 72-3published at 11 overs

India are mixing up their batting order. No Mr Dhoni in at number 5 as we saw in the first T20 - instead Manish Pandey makes his way to the square and is off the mark with a quick single.

This is another fine display with the ball from Moeen Ali with just two more singles from the rest of the over. That takes him to 1-14 off his 3 overs so far.

That was plumb. It was a strange one actually... Yuvraj could quite easily have just rocked back in his crease and pumped it into the leg side. Dhoni has not come in at number five, so they're obviously leaving the finisher for the end.

Yuvraj lbw Moeen 4 (Ind 69-3)

Finally, an lbw is given. Moeen is bossing this series. Yuvraj tries to sweep him and is caught on the pad. Up goes the finger. England well on top.

This is not an electric start, but India might be happy in the grand scheme of things. The pitch will prove to be the key factor in this game.

  7. Ind 67-2published at 10 overs

That's big. Rashid sticks in a full-bunger and disappears to cow corner courtesy of Rahul. The ball before, new man Yuvraj Singh got off the mark with a single. He doubles his personal tally with a little prod to off to keep the strike.

  9. Ind 57-2published at 9 overs

This is a big dilemma for India now. England have checked their early progress and they can't get the big hits in. Do they risk going big and losing more wickets or just opt for steady progress, knowing England have some serious hitting in their line-up? Moeen continues and the home side end up stuck somewhere in the middle. Just one run off the over. Brilliant from England.

  10. Ind 56-2published at 8.0 overs

In comes another Indian fan favourite in Yuvraj Singh but it's more lovely stuff from the leggy - what a splendid over from Rashid! Just two runs and one wicket.

That was the googly. I think Adil Rashid bowls his googly better than his leg-spinner. Perhaps he should use that as his stock ball instead?

That was slower than the first couple of deliveries he bowled and it tempted Suresh Raina. Brilliant, smart thinking from Adil Rashid.

    Raina c Jordan b Rashid 7 (Ind 56-2)

Adil Rashid played in the first game, not that you'd have known it. He didn't bowl or bat. He's having a twirl now, though, and making an immediate impact. It is the googly and it draws a false stroke from Raina, who sends the ball high to long-on. Chris Jordan doesn't drop 'em. Off you go, son.

I'm interested to see if Adil Rashid slows down his speed a little bit, just to get more turn.

  17. Ind 54-1published at 7 overs

Moeen - excellent in the first game - gets his first grip of the ball in this encounter. He picks up where he left off, finding a good length. It is all singles until Rahul catches the bottom of the bat with a reverse sweep and gets three. It has hardly been a boundary-fest so far. Shifting the ropes back has clearly played a part.

  18. Ind 46-1published at 6 overs

Ben Stokes starts with a wide but quickly tightens up and beats Raina with a rising ball that the batsman tries and fails to hit into next week.

Rahul shows him the way with a traditional drive, offering a straight bat and finding the gap between extra and mid-off for four. Other than that it is just singles for the home side.

Chris Jordan is trying to enhance his reputation and get himself back into the one-day team. What has let him down in the past is his performance in his opening overs. He's improved on that. He's always been good at the back end of an innings.
