Merlyn: Is this Ben Stokes' first time playing spin? Sheesh.

Mishra is doing his best to escape the glare of the captain. That was a cardinal error.
It was a fantastic delivery from Mishra... but that's really taken the wind from the sails of 45,000 people.
Eng 69-3
Oh, Mishra, you've had a nightmare. He does Ben Stokes all ends up and clean bowls him first ball but replays show he has overstepped. A spinner overstepping? No excuse. Back comes Stokes and is given a free hit to boot, which he squirts away for a single to off.
Stokes' heart is in his mouth again soon after as he is caught on the pad going back. The ball was going down leg, though.
It's all happening.

Amit Mishra is celebrating like he's won the game. It is an opening for India, that's for sure.

Mishra held it back a fraction and Morgan was reaching for it.
Morgan c Pandya b Mishra 17 (Eng 65-3)
For all you cricket slang bingo players, we turn our attention to the dew factor. Members of the ground staff come running in with a long rope, one person holding each end, which they drag across the field to try and remove some of the moisture. And I don't know they did but it has worked!! Morgan reaches for one from outside off, doesn't quite get hold of it and Pandya takes a simple catch on the boundary.
Eng need 145 to win
Having ruthlessly milked Mishra, England are able to put the sword back in the sheath. Morgan, Root, Morgan, Root. The singles keep the scoreboard ticking. Nine runs off Raina's two overs so far, every one of them a single.

This has been a good over for England. The leg-spinner Mishra has not provided any threat to England at all.
Eng need 145 to win
Mishra continues. He bowls short and Morgan punches it down to long on, bringing up England's 50.
And then two consecutive boundaries from Root. For the first he gets low, opens his body and sweeps down to fine leg. The second one was perhaps not as classy, an inside edge which misses leg stump and goes down and past the rope.
Kohli gets a telling off from the umpire for throwing the ball ferociously back to the keeper from mid-wicket. Not too sure what he did that was too wrong there. He carries on debating with the umpire at the end of the over.

It's really important that England run hard at this ground, and turn the ones into twos.
Eng need 145 to win
Half-shout from Suresh Raina as his first delivery hits the sweeping Morgan on the pad. Not out. After a delay while a working, flashing bail is found, the modest, steady adding of runs continues. Morgan and Root can score without you even realising it is happening. And they know that Buttler, Stokes et al are sat on the bench waiting to do the heavy lifting.

The dew is making the ball come on to the batsmen, which is helping them a little. But Ashish Nehra was smart, recognised this and then bowled a couple of shorter deliveries and they surprised the two openers.
Eng need 145 to win
Amit Mishra comes into the attack. Root and Morgan continue to take the ones and twos and keep the scorecard ticking over. A confident square drive from Root and they go for two - the ball comes in and Dhoni takes off the stumps. This has gone to the third umpire but Root doesn't look worried - and nor should he, he was miles in.

This is what these two do well. They manipulate the ball and run the fielders ragged.
Eng need 145 to win
Morgan silences the crowd with a fast whip of a shot through the gap in the off side. Four runs. A much needed four runs. He then adds a couple more with a jab shot to leg. Cool, calm, steady accumulation of runs. That is what these two specialise in. Don't panic.

There's something happening out there. Morgan and Root will have to contend with it, but they are two players England would want out there in this situation.
Eng need 145 to win
Captain Morgan will need to steady his ship here, much-like him and Root did in Kanpur. They work well to switch the strike and slowly cut down the target.
A misfield from Yuvraj at mid-on prompts Morgan to think about a second run, which is wisely turned down by his captain. I don't think England need a run out right now. Five singles from the over.

The crowd are alive. They are all on their feet. How did it happen? It just held up a little as Roy was looking to work to the leg side. England were looking comfortable - it's unexpected that Nehra has been the one to pick up the wickets.
Eng need 145 to win
The place is bouncing. Nehra charges in for his hat-trick ball but Eoin Morgan calmly lets the ball go by. He is off the mark next ball with a flick to leg. Pressure on. But England have arguably their two coolest heads at the crease.
Roy c Raina b Nehra 10 (Eng 22-2)
Two in two balls! Jason Roy with a leading edge gives an absolute sitter of a catch to Raina at mid-on. India are flying and Nehra is on a hat-trick. Game on!
