That won't help Anderson's mood. He serves up a leg stump half volley first ball and Heino Kuhn clips it for four.

When James Anderson walked off with a five wickets he was probably looking forward to putting his feet up on the balcony, a bit of sudoku and a cup of tea. A few hours later and he's out here bowling!

Jimmy Anderson must be furious. I doubt he expected this when he bowled out South Africa early this morning.

He has a face like thunder as he walks out to the top of his mark.

I'd love to know what Joe Root just said in the England huddle.

Surely it's time to give Tom Westley a chance in this England line up? Batted consistently well for Essex for a number of years now and for the Lions when he has had the chance.

#bbccricket is on fire. You're not impressed with that from England and quite right too.

Not meaning to single one man out but there aren't many of you in support of Liam Dawson.

    Here's how he was dismissed...

Limited overs cricket has changed over the past few years, but Test match cricket hasn't. You still have to respect it. You still have to learn to leave the ball, play it late and wear the opposition down. You go for five or six hours and get your hundred. England seem to go for this ultra aggressive approach where it just allows the opposition into the game. Maybe it's a lack of respect about what the game is. England have got to come out and get four or five wickets to get back in the Test match.

  7. England 205 all outpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 15 July 2017

England were 143-3 and 199-6 shortly after tea. But they're now all out for 205.

They've made Chris Morris look like Allan Donald after tea...

Mark Wood pulls Morris for four early in the over but the bowler gets his revenge.

England have collapsed and are all out still 130 behind South Africa.

What can Wood and Anderson scrap their way to here? Can they get the deficit down into double figures? Even from there it will be difficult for England to get back into this.

Finally England get off 199 and bring the 200 up as Wood nudges a short ball into the leg side. He didn't look particularly comfortable there. Anderson does well to dig out a yorker from Morris. "Ooooooo, Jimmy, Jimmy" sing the crowd.

What an effect Faf du Plessis has had on South Africa.

They looked hopeless without their skipper last week but now the Proteas are bossing the game.

Even the field positions are working perfectly...

MD‏: England fans shouldn't worry. Remember Anderson's heroics at this ground against India in 2014? 500 is still on!

  14. Eng 199-9published at 49 overs

    Maharaj 3-20

The former skipper is not happy. England have lost three wickets without adding a run. Jimmy Anderson thinks the reverse sweep is the best option to get off strike but he fails to get any sort of meaningful connection. England are facing a huge first innings deficit at 136 behind.

The England batting has been appalling. They look like they are playing a Twenty20 game. I look at the approach - yes, the ball has done a little bit but it's not been drastic. They have this approach of attack, attack, attack. There is no thought or feeling of seeing off a bowler or wearing a team down. They don't trust their techniques to stay in long enough. That's a concern. England regularly collapse. It's always when the ball does a little bit. Look at the way South Africa played attritionally yesterday. England have played a load of shots.

    Dawson c Amla b Maharaj 13 (Eng 199-9)

    Dawson is out now.

The dismissal doesn't look good in the situation. He sweeps hard at Maharaj but top edges the ball and it loops for an easy catch for Amla at square leg.

South Africa have been all over England. Maharaj has bowled beautifully and now Chris Morris has come to the party.

Double wicket maiden for Morris. Who was I to doubt the decision to bowl him after tea?

England have lost two wickets since the break. It could have been three if not for DRS but just look at how far Dawson missed it by...

Mark Wood makes Chris Morris wait.

Good from both. Full and straight again for Morris, arrowing in on the stumps but Wood gets his bat on it.

    Hat-trick ball survived.

Very good bowling from Chris Morris. He set a trap for Stuart Broad with a field for the short ball and then he pitched it up. Quinton de Kock, too, deserves credit for calling for the review.
