Spin for the first time and it is right-arm offie Danushka Gunathilaka into the attack.
That is a woeful start. Miles down the leg-side and Dhawan just helps the ball on its way for four.

Rohit Sharma's showreel continues to get longer - here he is on the back foot, caressing the ball past the despairing dive of the backward point fielder. Class.
Pradeep continues despite going for those four wides in the previous over (see below).
At the moment the Indian batsmen are taking very few risks but still they take five from the over by just pushing the ball out to the sweepers on either side of the wicket.
The Sri Lanka skipper does make a change, bringing another right-arm seamer Thisara Perera into the attack. Again it is early to mid-80s on the speed gun.
That's a bit different. Perera goes for a yorker and all Rohit can do is dig the ball out and keep his wicket intact.
A change-up. This time short but the right-handed batsman has plenty of time to pull the ball for two.
Where can Angelo Mathews go for a break through?
None his three quicks used so far has looked threatening.
We don't think Mathews himself is going to bowl today as he makes his return from injury.

Sahir Akbar: Pakistani fan...we need India to win #awkward
Pradeep has heard me and tries to bang the ball in and show some aggression.
It is way too short though. Dickwella behind the stumps has no chance as the ball sails over his head for four wides.
This clip perhaps backs up my point of Sri Lanka being a little one-paced and easy-paced. Look how much time Rohit has to pull this ball to the rope.

India set their targets - the first one, base camp, is 50-0 after 10 overs. They've reached it.
The India 50 is brought up with a leg-bye. These two will be looking for much more against an attack that has so far looked very one-paced.
Rohit is really good on the eye. He even looks good as he tucks the ball off his hip for a single.
The Indian Ian Bell?
It has all been pretty comfortable for the Indian openers.
The closest we've come to a breakthrough was of the Rohit and Dhawan's own making with this risky single.
Rohit 20 Dhawan 28
The technically-sound Rohit has played classic shots so far but this time he gets down on one knee and tries to paddle the ball over short fine leg.
He doesn't get enough on it though and in the end nearly pats it straight to the fielder.
That's the end of the first powerplay. 48 runs from it.
Short and wide again!
That is not a good over. The last ball of the ninth is hit off the back foot for another four by Rohit.
Sri Lanka need a break through. Seven boundaries now to the India openers. Two of them in back-to-back balls by Dhawan...
A change of ends for Lakmal as he replaces Malinga.
No change of fortune though, too short and on Rohit's legs and the batsman swivels and thumps the ball for four.
Rohit is getting in on the act now. That's his first boundary since the first ball of the day.
Huge roars from the largely Indian-supporting crowd are greeting every boundary off the bat.
There have been five boundaries already, including this one.
Rohit 10 Dhawan 26
The first bowling change of the morning sees Nuwan Pradeep come into the attack.
The Indian openers have run well so far but this looks risky but Pradeep misses with the throw in his follow-through.
It was risky! Replays show Rohit would have been short of his ground had it hit. A single it is, one of four in the over.

India look pretty solid. We always talk about their batsmen but they have some incredible bowling options too. They have a great dynamic within their team.
The backward point fielders' hands must be stinging as Dhawan repeatedly slaps the ball in that direction.
Another drive from the Indian opener, this time the cover fielder half-stops the ball and the batsmen run two.
Dhawan is hogging the strike at the moment. He has faced 27 balls in these first seven overs and is already on 24. Dangerous times for Sri Lanka, the 31-year-old averages 76 in 11 matches in England.
"I want to be the K, lads."
"OK, but can I be L?"
10 runs off the over from Lakmal as India look to up the run-rate after a watchful few overs.
Dhawan already has three offside fours. This was the first of them.
Classic Shikhar Dhawan.
