Kumar Sangakkara was asked to play by Sri Lanka but he said no. We heard him interviewed on TV earlier saying he was too old and grey but this is a man who has reeled off five centuries for Surrey this season.

Sadly for Sri Lanka, the Asian country's in-form batsman isn't in their side today, in fact he's in the commentary box.

Kumar Sangakkara has hit five County Championship centuries for Surrey this season but turned down the chance to come out of international retirement for the tournament.

Hopefully he's offered his former teammates a few tips on batting at his home ground at least.

This is the 150th ODI between India & Sri Lanka. No two teams have played each other more in ODIs.

On paper there only looks one winner in this one.

India smashed their way to 319 in their first match - the highest total of the tournament so far - and have won 10 of their last 13 ODI matches.

They have also won 14 of their last 17 matches against Sri Lanka.

That will worry Angelo Mathews' Sri Lanka who lost by 99 runs against South Africa in their first match, as will the fact his side have only have one win from nine in 2017.

So Angelo Mathews is back in charge of Sri Lanka today after injury, taking the reigns from Upul Tharanga.

Tharanga, Sri Lanka's stand-in captain for their defeat to South Africa, is suspended for this match after being given a two-game suspension for a slow over-rate when Sri Lanka took more than four hours to complete their 50 overs.

The other changes see Thisara Perera come in for Seekkuge Prasanna and Danushka Gunathilaka play in place of the injured Chamara Kapugedera.

Sri Lanka Angelo Mathews, who is returning to the side after injury: "It feels awesome to be back in the team. I can't bowl and it does affect the team so that's why we have strengthened our bowling. The pressure is on today but we won't think about it. We'll just go and enjoy ourselves."

India captain Virat Kohli: "The team is in a good space. We're exactly where we want to be and bring some good momentum into the game."

    India v Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has won the toss and unsurprisingly has decided to bowl under cloudy skies in South London.

Three changes for Sri Lanka - more on that in a moment - while India are unchanged.

    Group B

Attention remains on Group B today as India and Sri Lanka meet at The Oval.

Virat Kohli's India top the group after their thumping 124-run win over Pakistan in the first match while Sri Lanka are the only team in the tournament without a point so far.

A win for Kohli's side would see them all-but reach the knockout stages thanks to their impressive net run rate while Sri Lanka would be effectively out were they to lose.

    India v Sri Lanka

    Good morning.

This Champions Trophy has been badly hampered by the rain so far but, whisper it quietly, we're confident of a full game today.

Now I've said that, if the clouds roll in again you'll know exactly who to blame.

Anyway, we've got two of Asia's big guns up against each other. Let's get straight to it.
