Mark Lawlor: Just got to love these Indian fans. Every shot met with a cacophony of bells, drums and whistles.

Sri Lanka have not looked very threatening with the ball. They need to make some inroads into what is a very long India batting line-up.
A little bit of pressure is starting to build as Malinga beats Dhawan with one of his classic yorkers.
He skips down the wicket a couple of balls later but only finds the man at cover with a drive.
The left-hander gets it through this time! A beautiful cover drive for four. These are conditions to pitch the ball up but that was a little over-done from Malinga.
Rohit Sharma, on the back of 91 in the last game, showed what good form he is in by crunching a four off the first ball of the day.
Watch it below.
Good fielding. Lakmal again gives Dhawan too much room but young Kusal Mendis shows all of the athletic ability in his 22-year-old body, springing to stop the ball at point.
A little delay as umpire Richard Kettleborough adjusts the bails but has to wait for those pesky lights to stop flashing before we can restart.
Much better line from Lakmal for the rest of the over. He gets through a maiden.

The really class players - like Rohit Sharma - look like they're playing in slow motion. It's quietly intimidating.

Some batsmen make the game look easier than others. Rohit Sharma is one of those people.
Rohit 5 Dhawan 7
These two put on 136 for the first wicket against Pakistan, more of the same today?
Malinga isn't getting much movement and his pace is in the low 80s so far, not too much to threaten either of these batsman. Just a couple of singles from the over though.
Lakmal doesn't look to have learnt from that earlier delivery as he drops short again.
The same cut shot from Dhawan but this time the fielder at backward point gets a hand on the ball to keep the runs down to two.

Shikhar Dhawan crunches the ball when he hits it. You don't want to be fielding some of his shots on a cold, blustery day like this.
Don't bowl there to anyone, but especially not to Shikhar Dhawan.
Suranga Lakmal opens up from the other end and he is short and wide. Dhawan gives it the treatment.
That's much better from Lakmal a ball later. A bit of in-swing and he beats Dhawan through the gate.

Anand Dahihandekar: I finished a major project while SL anthem was being played.
Someone in the crowd is banging away on a drum. "Dum, dum, dum, dum, dum, India!" is the chant.
Malinga tightens up his line for the rest of the over and Rohit is happy to settle for what he has got.

That's a typical Rohit Sharma shot - a touch of Mark Waugh, a splash of VVS Laxman. Very ominous for Sri Lanka.
Lasith Malinga will get us under way. He's carrying a little bit around the waistline. Can he find any movement under the grey skies?
Not like that. A gentle - at best - run-up and the delivery is short and wide.
Rohit Sharma loves it there and slaps the first ball of the day to the rope.
BBC weather forecaster Jake Cope: "Rain has become somewhat of an annoyance so far in this Champions Trophy but I’m glad to say any disruptions at The Oval today should be minimal. There will be a good deal of cloud around and we may get one or two very light showers if we’re unlucky.
"Blustery south-westerly winds will push any showers through quickly but blowing straight across the wicket, it may lead to a few interesting looking deliveries. 20ºC will be the top temperature but that wind will make it feel much cooler sat in the stands."
A huge cheer greets the end of the Indian anthem.
India definitely have the larger following in the crowd.
An even bigger cheer rings around the Oval as Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan head out to the middle.

Sri Lanka are in a flux as a cricketing country at the moment. They were one-day pioneers during the 90s and then more recently they've had big, influential players but now they are rebuilding and haven't really got a settled line-up. It's men against boys a little bit today.
The teams are out for the anthems.
Sri Lanka's up first. I'm a fan of this one. A little lengthy but very uplifting.
