    Henriques c Plunkett b Rashid 17 (Aud 161-3)

Gone. There's that wicket Adil Rashid deserved. Henriques looking it to slog it over to the leg side and clubs it straight to Plunkett at mid-on who takes a good catch low down.

Steven Gordon: Apt timing: Jason Roy is under pressure yet averages more than Finch at better strike-rate +50 rate. #ToughCrowd, external.

  3. Aus 160-2published at 27 overs

Liam Plunkett brought back into the attack as captain Morgan looks to strike again.

So much talk about Aaron Finch's innings but Steve Smith has batted sensibly and kept the scoreboard ticking along. He's just five away from his fifty.

Excellent shot from Henriques, effortlessly punching it through the covers for four. Australia firmly in control here.

  5. Aus 153-2published at 26 overs

    Smith 43, Henriques 12

A googly first up and Henriques didn't quite pick that up - inside edge on to the pads.

Australia happy to pick up the ones and two. Six from the over.

Rashid is unfortunate not to pick up a wicket yet today - he bowled some beauties in what has otherwise been a pretty ordinary bowling display from England.

    Cheers, Amy.

Right then, a strong start for Australia in what is a must-win game. Let's see what happens in the second half of this innings.

Bairdy: If you've never played, you'll not appreciate how good that catch was by Eoin Morgan. Top class.

Right, time for me to take a bow. Kal Sajad will talk you through the final 25 overs.

  9. Aus 147-2published at 25 overs

That's a fine way to get off the mark as Henriques cracks an off-drive through the field. And again! A stonking pull to the other side of the wicket, Stokes dropping just short, and Henriques proves that I don't know what I'm talking about. Stokes strays off target again as Smith shuffles across his stumps, but rounds off the over with a slower ball that sticks in the pitch.

That was Finch's highest ODI score in 21 innings, since making 72 against South Africa in June 2016.

  11. Aus 136-2published at 24 overs

Moises Henriques, who I think is coming in a touch too high at four, is the new man at the crease. He's got a highest score of 18 in ten one-day innings, which he made against New Zealand. He's got Rashid to contend with, and the leggie twirls down a maiden to keep things tight.

Ben Stokes does have a happy knack of taking wickets when England need him to.

That's a terrific catch. Morgan had lost it and had to veer to his right about four or five yards to cling on. It's a really important catch because Finch was looking so dangerous.

    WICKETpublished at 22.5 overs

    Finch c Morgan b Stokes 68 (Aus 136-2)

That is such a good catch! Stokes was struggling in that over, Finch sending a half volley flying to the boundary, but he drew the error out of the batsman. Finch spooned the ball up into the air and Morgan misjudged it at first, losing it in the Edgbaston sky, but he recovered superbly well to find it again and take it with two hands. Excellent work.

Does Roy deserve his place?published at 12:06 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

Duncan Russell: "A big score around the corner" for Roy. Would they keep a bowler in the team because he might take a five-for in a month's time?

Joffrey Boycott: Keep Roy in. He will come good and when he does, boom.

Lee: I understand the reason about a stable team, but the pressure placed on Roy to perform must be affecting his mentality. Bairstow's on form and deserves his chance to play. We're rewarding failure and penalising success. Typical England, setting out to fail and scapegoating poor Roy. It's not how GB won multiple golds in London and Rio! We should be more ruthless.

    Rashid 3-0-15-0

Finch really isn't comfortable against Rashid. He goes deep in his crease again and he's struck on the pad. Rashid likes it, Buttler doesn't, and it looks as though it's missing leg. Finch does what you do when you're struggling - try and get down the other end by shoveling a delivery into the leg side and jogging a leisurely single.

Smith is so hard to bowl at. He has confounded so many bowlers with the technique that he has, shuffling across his stumps.

  18. Aus 121-1published at 21 overs

I fear for Steve Smith's blood pressure if that does happen, Mike. That's an awful delivery from Stokes, a rank, low full toss, and it's so easy for Smith to step across and bunt it away for four through the covers. Stokes responds by straightening his line up, before grunting at the umpire as they call a wide.

Mike Bell: Ideal scenario? Australia score 490 for 2 in 50 overs. England 56 for 9 after 19.5 overs, then heavens open.

    Smith 31, Finch 57

Ooh, hello! Big shout for lbw, Rashid down on one knee, as he strikes Finch on the pad. It looks like the wrong'un and Finch, pressing forward, was trapped in front of the stumps. That looked a decent shout but he couldn't interest Morgan. Buttler's up for the next ball too, Finch struck on the toe, and he falls over his own feet trying to shuffle out of the line of the ball. A superb over from Rashid.
