    Surrey 12-0 (4.2 overs) v Somerset 269

Somerset's Craig Overton has got the ball swinging dangerously and the visitors have been unlucky not to get an edge yet. It feels like it's only a matter of time.

  3. Solid Yorkshire startpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Yorkshire 42-0 (14.2 overs) v Warwickshire 219

Having said Yorkshire's run rate wasn't great, they've upped the pace a little now.

Openers Adam Lyth and Kraigg Braithwaite are both up to 17 not out.

  4. wicket

WICKET Livingstone (c Compton b Finn) 16published at 17:14 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 233 v Lancashire 56-4 (17.2 overs)

Poor shot from Liam Livingstone. The Lancashire batsman doesn't know what to do with a Steven Finn long-hop. But rather than cream it to the boundary he hits an indeterminate shot to Nick Compton at point for an easy catch.

  5. Yorkshire openers still therepublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Yorkshire 25-0 (11.2 overs) v Warwickshire 219

Openers Adam Lyth (9 not out) and Kraigg Braithwaite (8 not out) remain unbeaten but the run rate is relatively slow so far for Yorkshire, in reply to Warwickshire's 219.

  6. wicket

    *England Ashes watch alert*

Tom Westley is out for six runs, lbw to Fidel Edwards at the Ageas Bowl. Hampshire are all over the Division One champions at present.

He is still averaging a touch under 50 for the season, with two centuries and two half-centuries, but has been short of form of late.

    Breaking

    WICKET Davies (c Stoneman b Clarke) 86

Steven Davies' top effort runs its course as he is caught off Rikki Clarke for 86.

Clarke finishes with 7-55, which is quite superb. Those are his career-best figures.

  8. wicket

WICKET Libby (lbw b Kleinveldt) 13published at 17:01 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Northants 194 v Notts 49-3 (16.1 overs)

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 12-2 (5.4 overs)

Kyle Abbott has another wicket, and it's Essex's second opener Varun Chopra who has to leave the crease. The seamer is working up some good pace and does the former Warwickshire man to remove his off-stump.

  10. wicket

WICKET Leach (lbw b Batty) 2published at 16:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Somerset 257-9 (78.4 overs) v Surrey

Jack Leach has gone for two and Somerset have one wicket left but Steven Davies still remains, on 82 not out.

  11. wicket

WICKET Vilas (b Murtagh) 5published at 16:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 233 v Lancashire 40-3 (12.5 overs)

Bowled him! Tim Murtagh produces a gem of a delivery, nipping back to rearrange Dane Vilas' stumps.

Middlesex's 233 suddenly looking a very good score. Steven Finn hasn't even got on to bowl yet.

  12. wicket

WICKET Pujara (c Levi b Kleinveldt) 0published at 16:46 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Northants 194 v Notts 22-2 (13 overs)

It gets better for Rory Kleinveldt too. The big all-rounder does for Indian Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara third ball, with Richard Levi taking the catch.

Nottinghamshire are wobbling with the bat after a fine bowling performance.

WICKET Mullaney (b Kleinveldt) 15published at 16:45 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Northants 194 v Notts 22-1 (12.5 overs)

  14. wicket

    WICKET Bess (c & b Clarke) 27published at 16:42 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Somerset 252-8 (75.6 overs) v Surrey

Rikki Clarke comes back in to Surrey's attack and... Straight away gets a wicket in the first over of his spell. He's almost unstoppable today.

Dom Bess did very well alongside Steven Davies (79 not out) to steer Somerset to a second batting bonus point, but Rikki Clarke (6-46) is currently on course for his best ever first-class cricket figures.

  15. wicket

WICKET Browne (b Abbott) 0published at 16:41 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 1-1 (1.5 overs)

Kyle Abbott strikes in his first over! The South African trails only Essex's Jamie Porter and Simon Harmer for Division One wickets this season and it's easy to see why.

Nick Browne, who has been Essex's most consistent batsman this season, tries an expansive drive, misses and is bowled without scoring.

  18. wicket

WICKET Davies (lbw b Murtagh) 19published at 16:32 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 233 v Lancashire 22-2 (8.1 overs)

And he's followed by his opening partner Alex Davies who shoulders arms to Tim Murtagh - never a wise idea - and sees the finger go up.

Two wickets in two balls for Middlesex.

  19. wicket

    WICKET Hameed (lbw b Roland-Jones) 3published at 16:31 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 233 v Lancashire 22-1 (8 overs)

If we're still playing 'England Ashes watch' then we must note a cross next to the name of Haseeb Hameed who is caught back on his crease by fellow England hopeful Toby Roland-Jones.

The Lancashire youngster has done well of late, but he's failed in front of England selector Mark Ramprakash.

  20. Hampshire all out for 254published at 16:26 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 (67.5 overs) v Essex

George Bailey cannot complete a century. He falls on 89 to Neil Wagner, caught on the boundary having a slog, to end Hampshire's innings on 254.

Two batting points for the hosts, who may feel a bit disappointed, despite runs from Bailey and James Vince (60).
