  1. wicket

WICKET Eskinazi (c Vilas b Bailey) 7published at 11:08 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 25-3 (8.3 overs) v Lancashire

Middlesex are definitely now wishing they hadn't chosen to bat first after winning the toss. They need a win, so prepared a lively pitch, but are now feeling its effects.

Stevie Eskinazi is squared up by a delivery from Tom Bailey and edges to Dane Vilas at third slip. The South African is normally a wicket-keeper so has good hands and clings on.

  2. Division Two round-uppublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

Sussex have lost Harry Finch, who fell lbw for a duck to Chris Rushworth, but have reached 18-1 against Durham at Chester-le-Street.

Glamorgan's run-rate is very healthy against Gloucestershire but they have lost Nick Selman and Colin Ingram to reach 50-2 from just 7.4 overs.

Derbyshire and Kent have been frustrated by a wet outfield at Chesterfield and are taking an early lunch. The umpires will inspect at 12:40pm.

  3. wicket

WICKET Sibley (c Hodd b Brooks) 3published at 11:01 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Warwickshire 6-1 (8.3 overs) v Yorkshire

He was at the crease for half an hour and faced 30 balls, but Dom Sibley is gone for three runs as Jack Brooks gets the first wicket of the morning at Headingley.

  4. 'Very difficult for Middlesex from here'published at 10:58 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 19-2 (6.4 overs) v Lancashire

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London

"No delay from the Lancashire bowlers, they have been on fire this morning.

"It's very difficult to see how Middlesex get to lunch from here."

  5. wicket

WICKET Weatherley (lbw b Porter) 8published at 10:57 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Hampshire 14-2 (4.5 overs) v Essex

Jamie Porter is on fire at the moment. His 65th victim of the season in Division One is Joe Weatherley who is trapped in front after finding the boundary.

  6. wicket

WICKET Robson (c Davies b McLaren) 6published at 10:56 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 11-2 (6 overs) v Lancashire

The ball is going all over the shop at Lord's with Middlesex now perhaps wondering why they chose to bat first. Sam Robson is the second batsman to walk back to the famous pavilion as Ryan McLaren catches him on the crease with a good delivery.

Stevie Eskinazi is joined by Dawid Malan at the crease after the left-hander wasn't selected by England for the ODIs.

  7. wicket

WICKET Duckett (c&b Wood) 2published at 10:52 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Northants 12-2 (3.5 overs) v Notts

It's gets better for Notts. Ben Duckett is a dangerous batsman when he gets going, but Luke Wood has got rid of him courtesy of a return catch.

Northants in trouble already at Wantage Road.

Marcus Trescothick is up to 15 from 14 balls so far. He looks to be in the mood, and the pitch looks really good for batting this morning at the Oval.

  9. 'Lancashire have the ball singing'published at 10:49 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 8-1 (4.4 overs) v Lancashire

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London

"It looks as though Lancashire have got this ball singing now as you would expect them to really, with a 10:30 start in September on a green top."

  10. Postpublished at 10:46 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Warwickshire 1-0 (4.1 overs) v Yorkshire

At Headingley, three of the first four overs have been maidens, after Warwickshire won the toss and chose to bat.

  11. wicket

WICKET Newton (lbw b Wood) 1published at 10:44 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Northants 1-1 (2 overs) v Notts

Great start for Division Two promotion hopefuls Nottinghamshire as Luke Wood pins Rob Newton lbw in his first over.

Notts are aiming to regain their top spot from Worcestershire and they've started perfectly.

  12. Postpublished at 10:40 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Somerset 4-0 (2.0 overs) v Surrey

Having won the toss and elected to bat first in London, Somerset openers Marcus Trescothick and Ed Byrom are looking to set a decent platform for the visitors.

Surrey start this match 13 points above Somerset in the table.

  13. wicket

WICKET Adams (lbw Cook) 0published at 10:40 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Hampshire 0-1 (1.5 overs) v Essex

Essex begin their celebratory match well, as youngster Sam Cook traps Hampshire opener Jimmy Adams lbw in his first over.

Hampshire sit fourth in the Division One table, but with things tight they can't afford to take their foot off the gas. Looks a difficult day to bat so far.

  14. wicket

WICKET Compton (lbw McLaren) 0published at 10:35 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Middlesex 0-1 (1.2 overs) v Lancashire

Nick Compton is the recipient of the unwanted 'first dismissal of the day award'. He's hit on the pad by Lancashire seamer Ryan McLaren, who has enjoyed yet another excellent season.

Lancashire have nothing to play for, but Middlesex most certainly do.

  15. Overseas stars absentpublished at 10:31 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    Glamorgan v Gloucestershire (10:30 BST)

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport in Cardiff

No toss on a bright morning here in Cardiff, where both teams are without overseas batsmen.

Glamorgan give a debut to 20-year-old Connor Brown in place of the retiring Jacques Rudolph, who is 175 runs short of 20 thousand for his career, while Aneurin Donald and Ruaidhri Smith come in for Jack Murphy and Lukas Carey.

Cameron Bancroft has gone back to Australia and Gareth Roderick is injured, so Gloucestershire bring in Benny Howell and fit-again David Payne in a bowling-heavy eleven, and chose to use those bowlers first.

Remarkably, given we're in mid-September and the summer already feels like a distant memory, we appear to have a dry, albeit windy, day for cricket.

Barring a wet outfield at Chesterfield, all games are set to start on time at 10:30 BST.

  19. Team newspublished at 10:23 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    James FranklinImage source, Getty Images

There are some big decisions to be made at this time of the season and Middlesex skipper James Franklin has made one, dropping himself from the side to face Lancashire at Lord's.

Nottinghamshire are without Jake Ball and Alex Hales, who are on England duty, and Brendan Taylor, who returned to Zimbabwe for personal reasons. Their strength in depth sees Billy Root, Tom Moores and Luke Wood come in.

Essex are unsurprisingly unchanged from the side which clinched the title last week, meaning there is no Alastair Cook.
