  1. Trego hobbles off injuredpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 306 v Surrey 433 & 58-2 (13.1 overs)

Pete Trego comes off after landing awkwardly on his foot, or so it appeared at least.

Jack Leach comes on to bowl instead.

  2. Play to resume at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Sussex 346 & 302 v Durham 385 & 131-9 (41.2 overs)

Durham's rain dance hasn't worked. The mopping-up process is under way at Chester-le-Street and Graham Onions and Brydon Carse will have to go back out soon.

Will there be a pot of gold (21 points for a win) at the end of the rainbow for Sussex? They need just one wicket.

Nakul Pande: Sangakkara's batting for the last time at the Oval. I'm 200 yards away...and can't go. Grr.

If you are in south London, you know what to do.

    Somerset 269 & 306 v Surrey 433 & 41-2 (9.0 overs)

Worth reminding you that Kumar Sangakkara's first innings score of 157 was itself larger than the target Surrey were set for this chase, 143.

Jonathan Triffitt: 104 to win; plenty of opportunity for a ninth century from Kumar Sangakkara.

Wishful thinking Jonathan, but if there's one man that can do it...

  8. Division Two updatepublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

With Essex having wrapped up the win in rapid time against Hampshire there is just one game ongoing as Surrey and Somerset battle it out at the Oval.

That's because both Glamorgan against Gloucestershire and Durham versus Sussex are delayed by the weather, with bad light in Cardiff and rain in Chester-le-Street.

We'll stay with the action in south London and let you know if play resumes.

  9. Two lbw shouts turned downpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 306 v Surrey 433 & 40-2 (8.0 overs)

Surrey are still 103 runs short of victory and they're living dangerously but Ryan Patel escapes two enormous appeals. The ball must have been pitching only just outside the line.

  10. Sangakkara begins his final Oval inningspublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 306 v Surrey 433 & 39-2 (7.1 overs)

The great man Kumar Sangakkara gets a big round of applause as he walks out for the last time at the Oval.

  12. Essex repeat historypublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

Essex beat Hampshire by 108 runs

Hampshire hadn't lost a County Championship game after enforcing the follow-on since 1992, when - you guessed it - Essex came back to win and secure their last title.

Hampshire take five points from the loss to move onto 140. Depending on Somerset's result against Surrey, they will go to Edgbaston next week eight or 13 points ahead of the Taunton side.

  14. ESSEX BEAT HAMPSHIRE BY 108 RUNSpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 22 September 2017
    Breaking

    Edwards (c Foster b Cook) 11

That's it. And a nice way to finish, with Sam Cook completing a maiden first-class five-wicket haul, having number 11 Fidel Edwards caught behind. He has figures of 5-18. Essex extend their unbeaten run.

It's a terrible defeat for Hampshire, who made just 76 runs in 29.4 overs and will go to Warwickshire next week in danger of relegation.

  15. Hampshire past season's lowest scorepublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 & 64-9 (28.1 overs) v Essex 76 & 362

Hampshire have gone past Gloucestershire's 61 all out against Kent in April. Ian Holland (8 not out) and Fidel Edwards (7 not out) are approaching top-scoring territory for the hosts too. Happy days.

  16. Yorkshire 'not home and dry yet'published at 15:22 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

REACTION: Yorkshire beat Warwickshire by two wickets

    Yorkshire coach Andrew Gale:

"It felt like Middlesex at Lord's all over again last year. The heart was racing, but luckily we were on the right side of the result. We're not home and dry yet but it still gives us a chance to stay in this division.

"We just have to go down to Chelmsford and continue some of the good work. I feel like we have played some really good cricket over the last three weeks. Had we played like that for the majority of the year, we wouldn't be where we are."

  17. Surrey 25-0 (3 overs), chasing 143published at 15:19 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 306 v Surrey 433 & 25-0

Rory Burns and Mark Stoneman have started well for Surrey, who need a further 118 runs to win.

Matt: Hampshire. Just wow. Despite 32 seasons of this I always underestimate the capability of you to spectacularly screw it up.

Paul Raghavan: Just putting it out there now Essex must be in with a shout of BBC Sports Personality team of the year!!

  19. wicket

WICKET Abbott (c Browne b Wagner) 5published at 15:14 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 & 56-9 (25.4 overs) v Essex 76 & 362

Not really sure what to write now. Hampshire have lost another wicket. It's Kyle Abbott. He's been caught at point by Nick Browne off Neil Wagner, for some reason trying to drive on the up.

They're past their lowest ever total against Essex, but still five runs short of the lowest total of the season.

  20. Surrey get chase under waypublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 306 v Surrey 433 & 1-0 (0.4 overs)
