With Essex having wrapped up the win in rapid time against Hampshire there is just one game ongoing as Surrey and Somerset battle it out at the Oval.

That's because both Glamorgan against Gloucestershire and Durham versus Sussex are delayed by the weather, with bad light in Cardiff and rain in Chester-le-Street.

Hampshire hadn't lost a County Championship game after enforcing the follow-on since 1992, when - you guessed it - Essex came back to win and secure their last title.
