    Breaking

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 178-8

Steve Patterson hits the winning runs and Yorkshire - who had a big scare this morning - have battled to victory and a priceless 21 points in the relegation battle.

Patterson's 78-run eighth-wicket stand with Matthew Fisher was the key.

  2. wicket

WICKET Bailey (b Cook) 0published at 13:54 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 & 12-4 (8 overs) v Essex 76 & 362

Sam Cook is on fire, bowling really quickly. He has figures of 3-9 from his four overs as he sends George Bailey's off-stump cartwheeling, landing it just where he left Jimmy Adams' four balls previously. Serious swing from the youngster.

  3. wicket

WICKET Fisher (c Bell b Patel) 15published at 13:52 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 174-8 (63.5 overs)

With the scores tied and Yorkshire one run from victory, a wicket falls!

Matthew Fisher is out and in comes Jack Brooks. Two further wickets, without a run scored, would see Yorkshire denied.

Can Brooks find the single they need?

    Hampshire 254 & 12-3 (7.2 overs) v Essex 76 & 362

    Sam CookImage source, Rex Features

Jimmy Adams looked a bag of nerves out there and he's fallen in poor circumstances, allowing a Sam Cook delivery to castle his off-stump.

Hampshire in a mess already. 185 looks a long way off.

Caughtatcow: Writing on the wall for Somerset? 8 down, lead by 78. Yorks and Middlesex winning. Miracle required?

To use Sir Alex Ferguson's favourite phrase it's squeaky bum time certainly for the Taunton side.

  10. 'Essex looking to put a cherry on the cake'published at 13:38 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 & 11-1 (5 overs) v Essex 76 & 362

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

With Essex striking early there are shades of 1992 here. That was the year that Essex last won the championship and the key victory came away at Hampshire when they were forced to follow on 151 behind and ended up winning by 79 runs.

Something similar today would be the cherry on the cake for Essex and could put Hampshire in serious trouble going into the final round. Hampshire look nervous to say the least and Essex sense the chance of completing a great turnaround.

  11. wicket

WICKET Trego (b Patel) 68published at 13:36 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 242-8 (75 overs) v Surrey 433

Key moment. Ryan Patel bowls Pete Trego and Somerset are in real, real danger of losing now.

Trego had added a cracking 68 but Somerset only have two wickets left now and their lead is just 78 runs.

He batted really nicely once again, Trego, hitting 11 boundaries in 83 balls.

  12. Weather to come to Durham's rescue?published at 13:31 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Sussex 346 & 302 v Durham 385 & 110-7 (36 overs)

James Weighell (37 not out) and Brydon Carse (12 not out) have slowed the Sussex charge, putting on 49 runs together for the eighth wicket.

And could the north east weather come to Durham's rescue and secure a draw?

    Somerset 268 & 234-7 v Surrey 433

Leading by just 70 runs, Somerset lose their seventh wicket as Craig Overton is lbw.

Pete Trego (60 not out) is joined by Dom Bess in the middle and they simply must dig in for the visitors now. They have no choice.
