  1. wicket

WICKET Pujara (c Levi b Kleinveldt) 14published at 11:00 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Northants 194 & 270 v Notts 151 & 119-4 (47 overs)

Big wicket in the Division Two promotion picture. Rory Kleinveldt takes his 12th wicket of the match, having Cheteshwar Pujara caught by Richard Levi at second slip.

Notts still need 195 runs to win. Northants need six wickets.

  2. wicket

WICKET Ballance (lbw b Patel) 21published at 10:54 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 71-4 (27.4 overs)

A crucial moment? Yorkshire's Gary Ballance is out lbw and that feels like a possible game-changer.

Yorkshire have six wickets left. If they lose another soon they could get very nervy indeed.

A further 104 runs are needed for victory.

  3. Notts looking to resistpublished at 10:48 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Northants 194 & 270 v Notts 151 & 114-3 (44 overs)

Jake Libby and Cheteshwar Pujara are looking to blunt Northants' attack, but they're fortunate to still be there as an lbw shout against Libby and an appeal for for a catch against Pujara are turned down.

A draw would be sufficient for Notts, but Northants need to win to keep their Division Two promotion hopes alive.

  4. Yorkshire chasing 175 to winpublished at 10:43 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 61-3 (24.4. overs)

On a beautiful morning at Headingley, Yorkshire need a further 114 runs to win, or Warwickshire need seven wickets.

Yorkshire can hardly afford not to take victory, after Middlesex's win yesterday.

  5. wicket

WICKET Porter (b Abbott) 4published at 10:40 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 76 & 254-7 (95.3 overs)

Yep, Hampshire have their tails up and have a sniff of a win now. Kyle Abbott produces a ripper of a yorker third ball to remove Jamie Porter's stumps.

He is only the nightwatchman, but two wickets in nine balls have Essex's unbeaten County Championship record in peril. Essex essentially 76-7 following on.

  6. wicket

WICKET ten Doeschate (lbw b Edwards) 9published at 10:36 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 76 & 252-6 (95 overs)

Ooo errr, here we go at the Ageas Bowl! Fidel Edwards follows up a long-hop with a full, swinging quick one which traps Ryan ten Doeschate lbw early doors.

Essex lead by 74 runs but only have four wickets remaining. Game very much on.

So who do you think will be going down with Warwickshire this season?

At the start of this penultimate round of fixtures, just 13 points separated the five sides in danger, and just two points separated Yorkshire, Somerset and the 2016 champions Middlesex - who wrapped up a vital win yesterday.

  10. Derbyshire v Kent abandonedpublished at 10:23 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

Bit of a farce at Chesterfield, where after three days of sitting around the match has been called off without a single ball bowled.

Derbyshire moved this game to the outground because of a Boyzone concert at the County Ground in Derby. I don't imagine Kent will be best pleased.

It's bright, crisp and clear out there at the moment across the country. But remember: it is September and therefore we might be troubled by some patchy rain later today.

Let's hope that is not the case and results aren't prevented.

  13. Good morningpublished at 10:15 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the final day of the penultimate round of County Championship fixtures. We should have an exciting and meaningful day of cricket in store for you.

Middlesex's crucial 36-run win over Lancashire yesterday has turned up the pressure in Division One, meaning Yorkshire, Hampshire and Somerset could really do with wins today.

Yorkshire are 56-3 chasing 175 to win against Warwickshire at Headingley. Hampshire have Essex 247-5 following on and need early wickets to force a run-chase. Somerset are up against it at the Oval, 113-4, still trailing by 51 runs.

Today is a crunch-day in the relegation battle.
