  1. 50 runs

partnership for Wagner & Fosterpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 76 & 323-8 (114.3 overs)

Neil Wagner advances down the wicket and smacks Kyle Abbott over his head for four - no mean feat - to take his partnership with James Foster beyond 50.

This partnership has really turned things on its head. Essex lead by 145 runs and suddenly Hampshire's chase is looking trickier.

  2. Patel & Read have a big task for Nottspublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Northants 194 & 270 v Notts 151 & 166-7 (60.2 overs)

    Alex Winter
    BBC Radio Northampton sport

What a fabulous morning for the final day's play at Wantage Road this season. Perfect weather and a vital fixture perfectly poised.

But it's Northamptonshire who have seized control of it, taking four wickets for 33 runs. Rory Kleinveldt extended his match haul to 13 wickets with two strikes around 30 minutes into play - and now has 50 Championship wickets for the season.

And Ben Sanderson finally struck after a luckless time so far in the game, with the huge wicket of Riki Wessels - so often Northants' nemesis - for just 4.

Samit Patel and Chris Read now have a big task to try and get Notts back into the game but it's still up for grabs here.

  3. Yorkshire in trouble?published at 11:50 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 100-7 (41.5 overs)

Just to remind you, relegation-threatened Yorkshire are away to champions Essex in their final game next week.

  4. wicket

WICKET Moores (lbw b Gleeson) 0published at 11:47 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Northants 194 & 270 v Notts 151 & 152-7 (56.2 overs)

Full, straight, swinging. Richard Gleeson does for Tom Moores, who hasn't enjoyed the best first County Championship appearance of the season.

  5. Durham strugglingpublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Sussex 346 & 302 v Durham 385 & 42-4 (19 overs)

Durham have lost Graham Clark and Cameron Steel and are really up against it at Chester-le-Street.

Sussex's fast bowlers are doing the business as Michael Richardson and Paul Collingwood come in to bat, needing an unlikely 222 runs to win.

  6. wicket

WICKET Hodd (c Patel b Sidebottom) 11published at 11:44 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 96-7

Yorkshire are seven down. SEVEN down. Andy Hodd is the latest to fall.

They have slipped from 85-4 to 96-7... Is a damaging defeat beckoning?

  7. Wagner counter-attackingpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 76 & 301-8 (109 overs)

Neil Wagner has come out with good intent, smashing five fours to move onto 21 from 25 balls.

James Foster (17 not out) is still there and the duo are stretching Essex's lead. It stands at 123 at the moment. Hampshire will want to wrap this up quickly.

  8. Somerset move into the leadpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 165-5 (55 overs) v Surrey 433

Somerset now lead by one run. Steven Davies (40) and Pete Trego (17) need to put together a strong partnership to try and avoid a defeat.

This is a crucial, crucial time in the relegation battle.

But it could have been worse for the visitors, a short while ago...

  9. Runs continue to flow at Cardiffpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Glamorgan 442 & 109-1 (31 overs) v Gloucestershire 399-8d

The pitch is flat at Cardiff. Andrew Salter (50 not out) and Nick Selman (46 not out) are continuing to pile on the runs.

Glamorgan lead by 152 runs and are hopefully thinking of setting up a run-chase.

  10. wicket

WICKET Bresnan (c Thomson b Patel) 0published at 11:34 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 215 v Yorkshire 296 & 86-6 (37.5 overs)

Wow. Tim Bresnan is caught on the boundary and Jeetan Patel has a five-for. It's a daft shot.

Oh my, Yorkshire, is this game slipping away?

Still 89 runs needed to win. Four wickets left.

  11. wicket

WICKET Wessels (lbw b Sanderson) 4published at 11:30 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Northants 194 & 270 v Notts 151 & 139-6 (54 overs)

Northants have allowed someone else a go. It's not Rory Kleinveldt this time, but Ben Sanderson who wins an lbw appeal to see off the dangerous Riki Wessels.

Notts are in real strife now. Surely survival mode needs activating now.

  12. wicket

WICKET Leaning (c Bell b Patel) 16published at 11:24 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 86-5

Trouble for Yorkshire! Jack Leaning finds a boundary but then, next ball, is caught by Ian Bell.

The hosts have some really serious work to do now at Headingley. Just five wickets left.

  13. Yorkshire chasing 175 to winpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Warwickshire 219 & 251 v Yorkshire 296 & 82-4 (35 overs)

Just a couple of runs have been added to Yorkshire's total in the past six overs. Tense?

  14. 'Jennings suffering a crisis of confidence'published at 11:20 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Sussex 346 & 302 v Durham 385 & 29-2 (14 overs)

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

A small round of applause as Keaton Jennings leaves the pitch at The Riverside for what could be the last time in a Durham shirt.

It was another disappointing score for a player suffering a real crisis of confidence. He was bowled by Chris Jordan for 10 and never really offered a shot as the ball beat him and clipped the top of off-stump.

It means Durham are in a bit of a pickle at 29-2, still needing 235 to beat Sussex.

  15. wicket

WICKET Harmer (c Alsop b Holland) 8published at 11:17 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 76 & 272-8 (103.1 overs)

Ian Holland is a very useful all-rounder. He bowls apparently nonthreatening seam-up stuff, but continues to pick up wickets.

He has Simon Harmer caught behind to put Hampshire on the brink of a run-chase. James Foster is still at the crease, with Neil Wagner joining him. Essex lead by 94 runs.

  16. Perfect start for Hampshirepublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Hampshire 254 v Essex 76 & 272-7 (102.4 overs)

    Kevan James
    Sport Presenter, BBC Radio Solent

The morning couldn't have started better for Hampshire, with Fidel Edwards and Kyle Abbott both picking up a wicket.

Interesting that Hampshire head coach Craig White feels chasing around 120 for victory is reasonably comfortable, the Essex camp saying 150-200 would be "very interesting".

With the sun out, the wicket appears to be playing about as well as at any time in the game.

  17. wicket

WICKET Abell (c Burns b Clarke) 18published at 11:09 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 132-5 (47 overs) v Surrey 433

Somerset's skipper Tom Abell is out! Big blow for the relegation-threatened visitors.

He edges it to second slip and it's a good catch. Somerset are still 32 runs behind.

  18. wicket

WICKET Libby (c Murphy b Kleinveldt) 42published at 11:08 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Northants 194 & 270 v Notts 151 & 128-5 (48.3 overs)

Rory Kleinveldt is having an utterly ridiculous match. His 13th (!!) wicket comes from another edge, Jake Libby being pouched by wicket-keeper David Murphy.

A Notts win looks very unlikely now, with another 186 runs needed. Northants, led by Kleinveldt, are edging towards a big win.

  19. 'All eyes on Keaton Jennings'published at 11:04 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Sussex 346 & 302 v Durham 385 & 19-1 (11.1 overs)

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

It's the final day of action at Chester-le-Street this season and you couldn't ask for a better day. It's nice and sunny and quite warm. The perfect Autumn Equinox.

The official line from Durham is nothing will be announced about Keaton Jennings' future until the end of the season, amid reports he is leaving the club after five years.

But this could well be the last time supporters see him at The Riverside in a Durham shirt. Although his season started brightly it's been one of struggle since a loss of form, which coincided with a heavy defeat at Hove.

It would be nice to see him get a big knock today. He's currently on eight, although his opening partner Tom Latham has just fallen, lbw to Stuart Whittingham.

Jennings has no agent and I understand he has spoken to a number of clubs about his future, including Durham, who offered a lucrative three-year contract to Paul Coughlin a few weeks ago, only for him to turn it down and opt for Notts instead.

  20. Can Somerset build a lead?published at 11:04 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

    Somerset 269 & 130-4 (45.3 overs) v Surrey 433

After Kumar Sangakkara's huge score for Surrey yesterday, Somerset remain 34 runs behind, but captain Tom Abell and Steven Davies are helping edge them towards a lead.

The visitors have six wickets left at the Oval and they'll be desperate to avoid a defeat, as they currently occupy the second relegation spot.
