Australia have slowed the run-rate and grabbed the initiative. Mitchell Marsh has been outstanding - England's run-rate has gone from six an over to 5.4.
Hazlewood went for five boundaries in his first three overs but there have only been a sprinkling of singles from his last two.

We need to come up with ends for the ground - at the moment we're going with northern and southern ends.
Root 20, Buttler 1
Jos Buttler the new man, we would all love to see some of those fast hand strokes. Marsh is not renowned for his pace but he is up at 144.5k's, nudging 90mph. A good catch that one to dismiss Morgan, Stoinis coming in from the boundary and judging the dive forward perfectly.

That is a pretty ordinary shot from Morgan. He charged down the wicket to Marsh and Marsh has used his short ball to good effect so far.
It was an aimless swing of the bat. I am not sure where Morgan was trying to hit it on the ground.
Morgan c Stoinis b Marsh 3 (Eng 157-4)
Well, there was the attempted acceleration but he got it badly wrong on this occasion. Morgan marches down the wicket as Marsh bowls and it is far too high on the bat for his wild swish and loops up just outside the circle on the off-side.
Root 18, Morgan 2
Morgan needs one more half century to set a new record for England. He currently has 39, the same number as Ian Bell. Only two singles off the bat in this one, but we all know how he can accelerate. Here's the impressive view from the com box. Surely it should be called the Optus Oval? The boundaries square of the wicket are 82m, only 63m straight down the ground.

I'm surprised Mitchell Marsh hasn't bowled more - even in the Test series. He's not always been the go-to person but he's a good bowler, a genuine all-rounder.
Marsh 1-17 (5)
Just the single from Marsh's over. So starts for England's top three but no fifty so far. Can the two premier players rectify that?

We saw in the last over that Alex Hales was struggling to play Mitchell Marsh's bouncer - he top-edged one for four over the keeper. Again he got into trouble and this time he skewed the ball to the safe hands of Glenn Maxwell at backward point.
Hales c Maxwell b Marsh 35 (Eng 151-3)
All over for Alex Hales, who will find out that he hasn't been sold in the IPL auction yet either. He went for the hook and did not get in good position, the top edge looping up on the off-side.

I've found out that the wickets are kept at the race track, which is called Gloucester Park. They are in these big metal trays and once they are ready to go they are brought in on the trucks.
Thanks Matt. Zampa again, only one boundary conceded in his four overs thus far and he restricts them to singles as the 150 arrives. This new ground has the smallest of squares, just five individual strips.

This looks spot-on to me, the odd one has misbehaved a touch but you'd expect a few teething problems from a new drop-in pitch.
The crowd clap rhythmically to encourage Marsh as if he was a long jumper racing in.
Marsh is encouraged and bangs one in short. Hales goes hard at a pull and the ball takes the top edge and flies over Tim Paine's head for another four, just a few yards short of a six.
We're at the halfway point. England targeting 350 from here? Here's Jamie Lillywhite to see how many they can get.

Every game that Zampa has played he has had that short mid-off, I've not seen him field one ball yet.
Hales 29, Root 14
A quick over from Adam Zampa as he returns to the attack. Still not much threat from the leggie. The most notable moment is a brilliant diving stop from Steve Smith in the covers.
Good response from Mitchell Marsh. England only manage a single from the rest of his over after that Root four on the first ball.
It sounds like a great atmosphere at this new Perth Stadium. There's still a decent amount of England fans who are going through their repertoire of songs.
The tunes are belting out of the PA system too at the change of ends. They're just getting ready for Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift who'll be playing at this stadium later this year.
