We have new leaders of Division One after Surrey defeated Hampshire by and innings and 58 runs at the Ageas Bowl.

But their lofty status may only last for a few hours, with Somerset and Notts poised for an exciting final day at Taunton, where the visitors lead by 210 after following on, thanks to Tom Moores' 103.

Defending champions Essex held their nerve to beat Lancashire by five wickets after being set just 105 to win and Leicestershire made it back-to-back victories in Division Two as they defeated Northants by six wickets.

Having been bowled out for under 100 in their first innings, and with a side including four debutants, Durham are now in position to force a remarkable victory at the Riverside.

With nine overs remaining, Derbyshire need another 213 to win, but Ben Slater is still there on 31 not out, with Championship newcomer Callum Brodrick on seven at the other end.

Chris Rushworth claimed the most recent wicket, bowling Matt Critchley for a first-ball duck.

Not even Matt Henry can conjure up a breakthrough for Kent as Gloucestershire's openers see it through to stumps, having followed on at Bristol, with Benny Howell 44 not out and Chris Dent on 27.

New Zealand paceman Henry earlier took 6-58 in their first innings as Gloucestershire conceded a 342-run lead despite 83 by Graeme van Buuren and Kieron Noema-Barnett's 73 not out.

And Kent remain the only side in a position to win this game on the final day, with the home side still 269 in arrears.

Neil Dexter hits Saif Zaib over mid-off for four and Leicestershire have a second successive Championship victory - the first time they have 'doubled up' for eight years.

Dexter finishes 10 not out with Colin Ackermann on 42, but Lewis Hill (85) and Paul Horton (62) set up the win with a second-wicket stand of 148.

Northants lost their last six wickets for 49 runs earlier in the day at Wantage Road, despite skipper Alex Wakely's 74, and they have now lost four games this summer after narrowly missing out on promotion in 17.

They take four points, with Leicestershire earning 20.

Play comes to an end at Taunton as Tom Moores is leg-before to Dom Bess for a superb 103. The left-hander batted for just under two and a half hours, faced 117 balls and hit 16 fours.

Having been forced to follow-on by Somerset, Nottinghamshire now lead by 210 and all threeresults are possible ahead of the final day.

Steven Mullaney (94), Jake Libby (69), Chris Nash (66) and Samit Patel (59) also batted well on a tough day for the Somerset bowlers, with Roelof van der Merwe sending down 43 overs for his 4-114.

Essex still needed 64 when Ravi Bopara was joined by his sklpper Ryan ten Doeschate but they have now halved that deficit.

It's a proud day for Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores as his 21-year-old son flicks a ball from Josh Davey down to fine leg for four, the 16th of his innings. Understandably, he punches the air in delight. It has taken Moores Jr just 106 balls to reach three figures and it is an innings which has brought his side right back into this match.

The day's scheduled allocation of overs having been bowled, we are now in extra-overs territory.

Glamorgan have been bowled out by Warwickshire at Edgbaston for 323.

Pacemen Henry Brookes and Chris Wright have taken three wickets each to leave the Division Two leaders with a victory target of 294.

Meanwhile, having enforced the follow-on against Gloucestershire, Kent are finding things tougher second time around.

Yesterday, they slumped to 5-3, responding to Kent's mammoth first innings 582-9 declared. Today, put back in, they are 59-0.

Benny Howell is going particularly well on 38. Chris Dent is on 19.

Yorkshire wicketkeeper Andrew Hodd is to retire from all forms of cricket at the end of this season.

Only 53 needed now as Ravi Bopara finds the mid-wicket boundary to bring up the Essex 50. He then nudges a single. Ryan ten Doeschate does the same. Essex look in good hands now.
