  1. WICKET Wagner c Davies b Bailey 29published at 13:08 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 302 v Lancashire 301

Essex all out! And they lead by one run.

After three fours and a six, Neil Wagner holes out to Alex Davies at deep midwicket to give Tom Bailey his fourth wicket of the innings - for the third time this season.

Lunch still at 1.30. So the Lancs openers still have three or four overs to face before an end can be brought to this extended morning session of 81 runs, four wickets, not to mention two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance and a helicopter landing on the outfield.

  2. 6 runs

Wagner hits Lancs for 6published at 13:03 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 302-9 (83.4 overs) v Lancashire 301

Lancashire old boy Neil Wagner hits the first six of the match at Old Trafford.

That is then followed by Sam Cook hitting a boundary which earns Essex a third batting point - and the lead.

In the fourth over with the new ball, Essex are flourishing.

  3. wicket

WICKET Dearden b Kleinveldt 0published at 13:02 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Northamptonshire 204 & 229 v Leicestershire 217 & 1-1 (1 over)

Leicestershire need a solid start in their bid to score 217 for victory at wantage Road - and that isn't it. Harry Dearden is gone for a three-ball quacker.

  4. Notts on course to avoid innings losspublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 224-3 (61 overs)

Former Sussex batsman Chris Nash hasn't had the greatest start to life as a Nottinghamshire player, but he has his highest Championship score of the summer as he moves into the 30s at Taunton. Samit Patel is on 17 at the other end and they are just 34 away from ensuring Somerset have to bat again.

  5. Delayed lunch in Manchesterpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 283-9 (81.3 overs) v Lancashire 301

Essex's last pair of Sam Cook and Lancs old boy Neil Wagner now proving rather irritating to the hosts. Especially as lunch has been put back to 1.30.

It was already destined to be 10 minutes late in an attempt to squeeze in the extra eight allotted overs in the day caused by rain yesterday.

But the earlier unscheduled appearance of the air ambulance to attend to a male spectator who had fallen ill has added a further 20-minute delay to the caterers' schedule.

Hope it's salad for lunch - and not something that will spoil.

  6. Leicestershire face modest targetpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Northamptonshire 204 & 229 v Leicestershire 217

Northants skipper Alex Wakely is run out for 74 as his side lose their last three wickets for four runs. Leicestershire will need 217 for a second successive Championship win. Can anyone remember when that last happened? Over-confidence is unlikely to be a problem, as they will no doubt recall being bowled out 101, chasing just 148 to beat Durham back in May.

  7. 50 runs

for Gareth Hartepublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Durham 96 & 256-7 (76 overs) v Derbyshire 205

Gareth Harte reaches a half-century in only his second first-class match off 120 balls with a single from the bowling of Matt Critchley. Given the overall match situation, this has been an excellent innings and his stand of 97 with Nathan Rimmington (39*) has given Durham something to defend in the fourth innings. They lead by 147.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Usman Khawajapublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Glamorgan 220 & 139-3 v Warwickshire 250

A half century on his Glamorgan debut for Australian Test batsman Usman Khawaja.

Having so far put on 44 with Ryan Morgan, the visitors now lead by 109.

  9. WICKET Porter lbw Bailey 0published at 12:33 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 260-9 (76.3 overs) v Lancashire 301

Jamie Porter keeps out a first-ball yorker from Tom Bailey, then goes to the fired-up Lancs seamer's very next delivery.

Three LBW decisions in 15 balls for Bailey. And all apparently pretty adjacent.

25 Championship wickets now for him this season - just shading fellow Lancs pacemen Graham Onions, who has 22, and Joe Mennie (19).

  10. WICKET Wheater lbw Bailey 41published at 12:32 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 260-8 (76.1 overs) v Lancashire 301

A second LBW decision for the morning for Tom Bailey as Adam Wheater finally goes for 41, having enjoyed several close shaves yesterday. The first was being dropped before he had scored by Keaton Jennings.

  11. wicket

WICKET Vince st Foakes b Virdi 28published at 12:29 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 50-2 (22 overs)

    Ben FoakesImage source, Rex Features

James Vince takes two steps down the track, shapes to play the ball through mid-wicket, but fails to make contact and Ben Foakes whips off the bails. The Hampshire captain has rather given it away there when his team could ill afford it. They still trail by 183 as Sean Ervina emerges from the changing room.

  12. ouch!

Gleadall setback for Derbyshirepublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Durham 96 & 236-7 (71 overs) v Derbyshire 205

Derbyshire's Alfie Gleadall goes off with a sore shoulder three deliveries after giving away six no-balls. Matt Critchley completes the over. Gareth Harte (42) and Nathan Rimmington (30) have so far added 78 for Durham's eighth wicket and they now lead by 127. There have been 57 extras in this innings.

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 191-3 (49.1 overs)

Oh dear, oh dear. That's a major mistake by Ross Taylor, who tries to square cut a ball from Roelof van der Merwe but is cramped for room as it scuttles on with the arm and cleans him up. It's a major blow to Notts' chances in this game. Samit Patel is the new batsman and escapes a pair with a single.

    Essex 253-7 (72.1 overs) v Lancashire 301

  16. Vince maintains momentumpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 38-1 (18 overs)

James Vince appears to be in the mood at the Ageas Bowl as a half-volley by Rikki Clarke is crunched down the ground to take the Hampshire skipper to 23 not out. Joe Weatherley is on 11, but they need another 195 to avoid an innings loss.

  17. wicket

WICKET Mullaney lbw van der Merwe 94published at 12:09 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 179-2 (47.1 overs)

The text commentator's curse strikes again as Roelof van der Merwe's arm ball denies Steven Mullaney a second Championship hundred of the summer. The Notts skipper - who wasn't thrilled by the decision - hit a six and 17 fours in his 141-ball innings, but they have a handy replacement, as New Zealand's Ross Taylor strides to the middle.

  18. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

Durham appear to be making a fight of it, having so far added 55 runs to move on to 215-7 against Derbyshire.

After the early loss of stand-in skipper Cameron Steel at Chester-le-Street, Gareth Harte (39) and Nathan Rimmington (18) have now put on 56 for the eighth wicket. Durham now lead by 106.

Glamorgan have lost a third wicket against Warwickshire at Edgbaston. The visitors are now on 123-3, leading by 89, with Usman Khawaja already on to 42.

Captain Alex Wakely is still there on 70 for Northamptonshire but the loss of Adam Rossington for 29 has triggered three more wickets for Leicestershire at Wantage Road. The hosts are now 211-7, a lead of 198.

Gloucestershire, 44-4 overnight, have already lost Jack Taylor for 33 and Ryan Higgins, both to Matt Henry, as they attempt to make an indentation in the massive 582- 9 declared posted by Kent.

On 90-6, they need a further 24 to avoid being asked to follow on.

  19. Mullaney nears centurypublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 177-1 (46 overs)

Somerset turn to spin as they seek a second breakthrough, but it's Roelof van der Merwe who is called up, ahead of England's Dom Bess. Spin or seam, Steven Mullaney is always positive and he flicks away through the leg-side for four as he motors into the 90s. This has been a fine innings and one which deserves to be rewarded with a century. Only 81 more needed for Notts to clear the deficit.

  20. Essex making progresspublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 244-6 (68.1 overs) v Lancashire 301

After that lost half an hour's play, Essex are continuing to whittle away at Lancashire's first innings 301.

Adam Wheater, who led a bit of a charmed life on day two, is still there on 36. Simon Harmer is looking fluent on 23.
