  1. Surrey press for victorypublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 175-8 (58 overs)

Hampshire now in very dire straits against Surrey after Kyle Abbott was leg-before to spinner Amar Virdi, offering no stroke. Dale Steyn is the new man at the crease, with fellow South African Rilee Rossouw 39 not out at the other end. Another 58 still needed to clear the deficit.

  2. WICKET Bailey c ten Doeschate b Harmer 16published at 15:47 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 75-8 (25.3 overs) & 301, Essex 302

A third wicket for Simon Harmer as Tom Bailey's resistance ends by spooning a simple bat-pad catch to Essex skipper ten Doeschate.

Only 74 ahead - and Essex nailed on to win. But Lancs have at least gone past that total of 70 at Southport in 1978. That remains their lowest score against Essex.

And it's certainly a lot higher than Essex's lowest score against Lancashire . . . that extraordinary day at Chelmsford almost five years ago to the day when Glen Chapple and Kyle Hogg took a mere 66 minutes to bowl out the hosts for just 20 inside 15 overs - Essex's lowest-ever total.

  3. Notts pair hold up Somersetpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 320-5 - tea

Riki Wessels and Tom Moores survive the last seven-and-a-bit overs before tea, which arrives with Nottinghamshire 62 runs ahead with five wickets remaining. They have enough batting left to set a challenging target for Somerset, who were utilising spin from both ends before the interval despite the ball being only 17 overs old.

Chris Nash (66) and Samit Patel (55) both fell with the score on 299 after a 108-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

for Gareth Hartepublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Durham 96 & 341-8 (113.1 overs) v Derbyshire 205

Gareth Harte takes a single off Alex Hughes and there is a century in only his second first-class match. What an effort this has been by the 25-year-old, supported by tail-enders Nathan Rimmington and Matt Critchley. It took him 218 balls and he has hit 11 fours so far. Durham are 232 in front.

Unfortunately, we don't have any action pics of Mr Harte, but if you don't know what he looks like, here's a mugshot.

  5. for Matt Henrypublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Kent 582-9 dec v Gloucestershire 204-9 (89.5 overs)

There is no stopping Matt Henry. He traps Craig Miles lbw for 13 and that's his fourth five-for of the summer, and 11th of his career. It is immediately followed by his sixth wicket as George Drissell edges to third slip and he is millimetres away from a hat-trick as Matt Taylor leaves the next one. It will be a big surprise if Kent don't enforce the follow-on here.

  6. Have that . . .published at 15:27 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 59-7 (21 overs) & 301, Essex 302

Joe Mennie slams a four straight back down the ground which forces panicking umpire Steve O'Shaughnessy to take rapid, evasive action.

He then follows it with another boundary in the same Simon Harmer over. Then Tom Bailey joins in with a boundary to mark Neil Wagner's introduction into the attack. Mennie adds another to move to 16. Two more and he will be top scorer.

This is surely Lancs' only hope of rescuing something from this game . . . hitting their way out of trouble!

  7. Khawaja provides 'fighting chance'published at 15:26 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Glamorgan 220 & 241-4 v Warwickshire 250

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

A debut century for Glamorgan’s Australian Test batsman Usman Khawaja has given them a fighting chance of setting a reasonable target against Division Two leaders Warwickshire.

Khawaja reached three figures off just 121 balls with 14 boundaries as he took the game to the home bowlers on a slow pitch, reaching the landmark with two pulled fours off spinner Josh Poysden.

Captain Chris Cooke was able to add a supporting role after his less experienced top-order colleagues had fallen away as the lead mounted past 200.

  8. wicket

WICKET Taylor lbw Clarke 16published at 15:22 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 151-7 (52.1 overs)

    Rikki ClarkeImage source, Rex Features

It's another good ball from Rikki Clarke which beats Brad Taylor's defensive push and there's another Hampshire wicket. Rilee Rossouw is 30 not out, but he's playing a lone hand now with just Kyle Abbott, Dale Steyn and Fidel Edwards left. The home side are still 82 short of making Surrey bat again.

  9. wicket

WICKET Chanderpaul LBW Harmer 10published at 15:17 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 41-7 (17.2 overs) & 301, Essex 302

Shiv Chanderpaul goes too. Leg before wicket. A ball from spinner Simon Harmer turns and keeps low. He never stood a chance!

Lancashire's lowest score against Essex is 70 at Southport way back in 1978. Colin Croft top scored with 19. JK Lever got five wickets and Norbert Phliip took four. At this rate, that might take some beating!

  10. wicket

WICKET Patel lbw van der Merwe 55published at 15:12 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 299-5 (89.2 overs)

Notts lose two wickets in the space of five balls and all of a sudden, Somerset are again in the ascendancy. Again it's the arm ball which does the trick for Roelof van der Merwe as Samit Patel plays for turn which isn't there. The left-arm spinner now has 3-66.

  11. wicket

WICKET Nash b Davey 66published at 15:08 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 299-4 (88.4 overs)

Josh Davey ends Nottinghamshire's fourth-wicket partnership, which had added 108, by bowling Chris Nash as he tries to clip the ball away through the leg-side. Samit Patel is still there on 55 as Riki Wessels comes out to join him on a pair, and the lead is 41.

  12. 100 runs

100 for Usman Khawajapublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Glamorgan 220 & 228-4 v Warwickshire 250

A century on his Glamorgan debut for Australian Test batsman Usman Khawaja against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

He gets to three figures with a sweep off Josh Poysden.

Not a bad start to life as an honorary Welshman. And a big improvement after making just 4 in the first innings.

  13. Fifty stand for Leicestershirepublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Northamptonshire 204 & 229 v Leicestershire 217 & 50-1 (22 overs)

Looking good so far for Leicestershire as Lewis Hill and Paul Horton post a half-century partnership at Wantage Road, where they need to score 217 for victory. Hill is 25 not out, Horton has 20, and Northants need a wicket or two to sow some seeds of doubt.

  14. WICKET Clark lbw Porter 0published at 14:57 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 29-6 (13 overs) & 301, Essex 302

The post-lunch carnage continues at Old Trafford as in-form Jamie Porter gets his fourth Essex scalp.

Jordan Clark, Lancashire's first-innings hero, leg before wicket, second ball. The third duck of the innings.

    Porter's figures now . . . 7-4-14-4. Are you watching, Mr Smith?

  15. 50 runs

for Samit Patelpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 285-3 (86 overs)

    Samit PatelImage source, Getty Images

Samit Patel drills a ball from Craig Overton away through the covers for four and there's his second Championship fifty of the season. It's taken him 113 balls and the boundary was the fifth of his innings. His partnership with Chris Nash (57*) is now worth 94 and the Division One leaders are 27 in front.

  16. wicket

WICKET Vilas c ten Doeschate b Harmer 4published at 14:53 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 27-5 (11.5 overs) & 301, Essex 302

Spinner Simon Harmer is on. And he strikes in his first over.

But it takes a freakishly good catch by Ryan ten Doeschate to get rid of a luckless Dane Vilas.

Any other day the umpire would have been signalling a four for an onside boundary - but the Essex skipper stuck out a hopeful mitt - and it stuck!

To add to the irony, Harmer had only come into the attack a bit prematurely as Sam Cook had limped off.

Michael Pepper has come on as Essex 12th man.

  17. wicket

WICKET Berg lbw Clarke 6published at 14:47 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 117-6 (44.1 overs)

Are Hampshire into a terminal decline at the Ageas Bowl? They lose their third wicket for 11 runs as Rikki Clarke has Gareth Berg leg-before with his first ball of a new over. The home side are still 116 behind as Brad Taylor joins Rilee Rossouw.

  18. WICKET Livingstone lbw Porter 17published at 14:36 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 23-4 (8.2 overs) & 301, Essex 302

Jamie Porter has his third wicket.

After trying to counter with three boundaries, Lancashire skipper Liam Livingstone is leg before wicket to one which appeared to keep a little low.

Overseas pair Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Dane Vilas are now together, both still to get off the mark. Lancs only ahead by 22.

A shaky situation for the hosts.

  19. Division Two round-uppublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

Usman Khawaja is homing in on a century on his Glamorgan debut, having moved on to 81 out of 191-4 against Warwickshire at Edgbaston. The visitors now lead by 161. He has so far put on 47 with captain Chris Cooke (24).

Durham are still going against Derbyshire at Chester-le-Street.

Gareth Harte has now reached 68, having so far put on 32 with debutant Matt Salisbury.

Gloucestershire are rallying well against Kent, thanks to an unbroken 98-run stand between Graeme van Buuren and Kieran Noema-Barnett.

WICKET McManus b Morkel 1published at 14:30 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 107-5 (40.4 overs)

    Morne MorkelImage source, Rex Features

Two wickets in successive overs for Surrey at the Ageas Bowl. Lewis McManus will not look back on this match with much fondness, having managed just seven runs in two innings, after Morne Morkel hits the top of his off stump. A magnificent delivery.
