Not all over yet! Tom Westley pushes forward uncertainly, edges and is caught behind.

A third wicket for Graham Onions as Dane Vilas safely holds on to a routine catch.

    Northamptonshire 204 & 229 v Leicestershire 217 & 154-2 (51.4 overs)

Leicestershire's second-wicket partnership comes to an end as Paul Horton pushes at a leg-stump delivery from Rob Keogh and manages to get a tickle through to the keeper.

A disappointing dismissal as Horton would have hoped to see the job through to the end. New batsman Colin Ackermann opens his account with a six to mid-wicket later in the over and 63 are now needed by the visitors.

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 404-6 (115.3 overs)

400 up for Notts as Tom Moores takes two off Dom Bess following another boundary. This match is now definitely back in the balance as the visitors are 142 ahead. Billy Root has been content to block at the other end, but he puts Craig Overton away for four in the next over.

    WICKET A Cook c Hameed b Onions 9published at 17:01 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 22-2 (5.1 overs) & 302 v Lancashire 301 & 105

Former England captain Alastair Cook is removed by one of his former international team-mates - as Graham Onions gets a second wicket.

Cook is this time taken at third slip on 9 by another former team-mate, currently discarded England opener Haseeb Hameed.

Hameed, who put Cook down on 22 in the first innings, again juggles with this one, but then dives forward to safely pouch the rebound.

Cook looks pretty annoyed as he swishes his bat over the top of the stumps.

  5. Durham all outpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Durham 96 & 376 v Derbyshire 205

Durham are bowled out for 376 second time around, thanks largely to maiden century from South African club player Gareth Harte, who has stepped up well from North-East Premier League side Burnmoor.

Sharing stands of 104 for the eighth wicket with Nathan Rimmington (42) and ninth wicket with debutant Matt Salisbury (25), Hart has helped injury-hit Durham set Derbyshire 268 to win at the Riverside.

Second top scorer for Durham was Extras with 81 - and that is the fourth highest in County Championship history.

34 byes, 23 leg byes, 22 no balls and two wides, for the record.

England spinner Dom Bess hasn't found his return to county cricket fruitful in terms of wickets, and Tom Moores puts him away for his ninth four to register a 72-ball fifty, his first in Championship cricket. The left-hander follows that with two more fours in an expensive over which costs 15, extending Nottinghamshire's lead to 131. Bess now has 0-93 from 23 overs.

Early strike for Lancashire in response.

Varun Chopra is bowled cheaply by Graham Onions for the second time in the match.

    Surely not?!!!

    Northamptonshire 204 & 229 v Leicestershire 217 & 129-1 (44 overs)

Paul Horton collects a boundary off Rob Keogh and reaches his fourth Championship fifty of the summer off 149 balls. Another 88 needed by Leicestershire and the leftover cakes in the dining area at Wantage Road are polishing their walking shoes. Partner Lewis Hill is 61 not out.

  9. Moores extends Notts leadpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 366-6 (109 overs)

Wonder how many Somerset will be confident of chasing at Taunton? Tom Moores has batted really well for 43 not out, stretching the Nottinghamshire lead to 109. Things are getting very interesting.

Matt Parkinson is bowled by Jamie PorterImage source, Rex Features

After leading Essex to the title last season, Jamie Porter and Simon Harmer have bowled the defending champions to the brink of victory.

They took nine of the 10 wickets to fall after an extraordinary session which saw Lancashire collapse to 105 all out.

The home side had no answers to an Essex attack who quickly blew away a desperately out of form top order. Victory inside three days looks likely, which seemed improbable when play resumed this morning.

WICKET Parkinson b Porter 1published at 16:17 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 105 (32.4 overs) & 301, Essex 302

Lancashire are all out . . . and tea is taken at Old Trafford.

Matt Parkinson is clean bowled to earn last summer's top Championship wicket-taker Jamie Porter his fifth scalp.

Porter finishes with 5-30, his second 'five-fer' of 2018.

What should have been a 4.10 teatime in Manchester, only for a half-hour extension when the ninth Lancs wicket fell, is now only delayed by seven minutes.

Essex will need 105 to win. 33 overs tonight to get them in, plus a potential extra half-hour.

Should be a three-day win for the champions this. But, if Lancashire's fielders can take their catches this time, maybe it might be a bit closer!

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 338-6 (102 overs)

We are back out after tea at Taunton and Nottinghamshire have quickly lost their sixth wicket, with Riki Wessels the latest lbw victim of spinner Roelof van der Merwe, who now has 4-80, as he misses an attempted sweep shot. They are 80 in front as Billy Root - on a pair - joins Tom Moores

  15. Will Glos have to follow on?published at 16:13 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Kent 582-9 dec v Gloucestershire 240

    Bob Hunt
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire’s resistance finally ended after 99 overs when Matt Taylor was caught behind off Joe Denly. After losing two wickets early on, Graeme Van Burren with 83 and an unbeaten 73 by Kieran Noema-Barnett steadied the ship for the home side before they were dismissed for 240, a massive 342 runs behind.

Earlier Matt Henry picked up six wickets, taking his total to 43 for the season. His first two victims were Jack Taylor for 33 and shortly afterwards, in a reference to a well-known musical, Henry got Higgins for nine.

    Lancashire 95-9 (29.1 overs) & 301, Essex 302

The rumbustious efforts of the Lancashire tail bring another wicket - and a fourth for spinner Simon Harmer as Graham Onions holes out to long on.

An unusual place to expect to see a veteran slipper like Alastair Cook pop up to take a catch - but then this has been a most unusual innings!

  18. Division Two round-uppublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

Usman Khawaja is finally out for 125 as Glamorgan move on to 273-5 at tea against Warwickshire.

Chris Cooke is still there on 52, following his key part in a 115-run stand with Khawaja. The lead is starting to pile up ominously, 243.

Gloucestershire are still afloat in their first innings at Bristol.

Graeme van Buuren went for 83 after a seventh-wicket stand of 104 with Kieran Noema-Barnett, who is on 70.

Their 237-9 is still dwarfed by the 582-9 declared which Kent ran up. But there is no guarantee that the hosts will be asked to follow on.

Durham have made a truly heartening second-innings revival after being bowled out for 96 first up by Derbyshire.

Gareth Harte's maiden century has lifted them to 354-8, a lead of 245.

    Northamptonshire 204 & 229 v Leicetershire 217 & 102-1 (36 overs)

While Surrey were wrapping up victory in Southampton, Leicestershire batsman Lewis Hill reached a half-century against Northants at Wantage Road. The visitors are almost half-way to their victory target with nine batsmen to come and home skipper Alex Wakely needs one of his bowlers to produce something special very soon.

SURREY BEAT HANTS BY AN INNS & 58 RUNSpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 11 June 2018
    Breaking

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 175 (58.4 overs)

Morne Morkel marks his Championship debut for Surrey by taking two wickets in four balls to seal an innings victory at the Ageas Bowl with four sessions to spare, which takes them temporarily to the top of the Division One table.

First, he has former South Africa fast bowling partner Dale Steyn caught in the gully by Ollie Pope and then digs in a short one from round the wicket at Fidel Edwards who fends it off uppishly to the same fielder.

Morkel finishes with figures of 3-37, and there were three wickets also for spinner Amar Virdi, with Rilee Rossouw left unbeaten on 39.

Surrey take 23 points, with just three for Hampshire.
