  1. Vince punishes Morkelpublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Hampshire 368 v Surrey 135 & 27-1 (13 overs)

Morne Morkel is into the attack now for Surrey, but his second over is expensive as Hampshire captain James Vince helps himself to three fours through the off side.

Two are punched away off the back foot, but the middle one is a shade fortunate as there was precious little foot movement. If the ball had deviated off the seam, he would have been in trouble.

Hampshire need another 206 to make Surrey bat again.

  2. Loose stroke from Mullaneypublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 156-1 (42 overs)

Notts skipper Steven Mullaney punches the back of his bat to remind himself to maintain concentration after a streaky edge past the slips brings him his latest boundary and takes the total beyond 150. There was no need to play a shot at that ball from Craig Overton, but Mullaney's luck is in - this time. He is 77 not out.

  3. Play back underway at Old Traffordpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 228-6 (64 overs) v Lancashire 301

Half an hour's play lost in the end.

The spectator who had been taken ill has now left the ground in one of the ambulances which accompanied the helicopter as part of the medical services' impressive response team.

To make up for lost time following the loss of most of Sunday's final session due to rain, there had already been an extra allocation of eight overs to today's play. Now, with this delay to catch up on too, squeezing in all 104 overs could mean, weather permitting, a later than anticipated finish in Manchester.

After Scotland's amazing win over England yesterday, perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that Aberdeen-born Josh Davey is the man to break Nottinghamshire's first-wicket partnership. Jake Libby plays across the line to a straight one and he's gone. A good innings, featuring 12 fours, but the visitors are still 113 behind as Chris Nash replaces him.

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 8-1 (7.2 overs)

    Sam CurranImage source, Rex Features

No doubt about that one. Jimmy Adams plays forward defensively, but the ball from Sam Curran beats the inside edge and strikes him on the pad. Up goes the umpire's finger - and off goes the Hampshire opener. Skipper James Vince is the new batsman and they need something special from him.

  7. Division Two round-uppublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

Early wickets on day three in all today's games in Division Two.

Nick Selman has gone for 42 for Glamorgan against Warwickshire at Edgbaston, caught at slip off left-armer Keith Barker. And now Chris Wright has removed Connor Brown cheaply too, caught behind. The visitors are now on 67-2, leading by 30.

Durham have added 20 runs to move on to 185-7 against Derbyshire but for the loss of stand-in skipper Cameron Steel, who was caught behind - a fourth victim for South African Duanne Olivier. A slender lead of 76 at Chester-le-Street, Gareth Harte still there on 31.

Northamptonshire have lost Adam Rossington for 29 at Wantage Road against Leicestershire. The hosts have moved on to 189-4, a lead of 176 .

And Gloucestershire, 44-4 overnight, have already lost Jack Taylor for 33 as they attempt to make an indentation in the massive 582- 9 declared posted by Kent.

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 8-0 (7 overs)

Joe Weatherley flicks the first four of the day down to fine leg at the Ageas Bowl. It's a rare off-line delivery from Surrey, with Jade Dernbach and Sam Curran still striving for a breakthrough.

  9. Flurry of fours at Tauntonpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 135-0 (35.3 overs)

We've seen it all in the first 20 minutes at Taunton, a straight drive, a leg glance, an authoritative pull, a cover drive all find the boundary before Steven Mullaney deposits a ball from Craig Overton for six over backward square leg. Mullaney has 68, Jake Libby is 53 and Notts have surpassed their dismal first-innings score with their opening pair still together.

  10. Play suspended at Old Traffordpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 227-6 (63.2 overs) v Lancashire 301

An air ambulance has landed on the outfield - to the right of the old pavilion.

Simon Harmer was facing a delivery from Graham Onions and was coming back for a second run even as the helicopter was landing.

But the players have now gone off and the early indications are that a spectator has been taken ill.

  11. No early freebies from Surreypublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 & 0-0 (3 overs)

Hampshire have their work cut out to avoid defeat at the Ageas Bowl and Surrey's new-ball pair of Jade Dernbach and Sam Curran are right on the money as the home side's second innings begins with three maidens. They need 233 to clear the deficit.

WICKET Steel c Smit b Olivier 6published at 11:07 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Durham 96 & 159-7 (54.3 overs) v Derbyshire 205

The first wicket of the day falls at the Riverside and Durham skipper Cameron Steel is the man to go, caught behind off a beauty from pace bowler Duanne Olivier, who now has nine wickets in the game.

Steel was batting despite an arm injury suffered earlier in the game, but his gallantry may be in a losing cause. Durham are only 50 ahead with just three wickets standing.

  13. Stylish start by Mullaneypublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 116-0 (31 overs)

Straight out of the coaching manual. Notts are under way at Taunton where Lewis Gregory overpitches in the opening over and Steven Mullaney plays a beautiful straight drive for the day's first boundary, taking him to 58 not out.

  14. What's the score in Manchester?published at 11:03 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Essex 222-6 (61 overs) v Lancashire 301

Underway on time at Old Trafford as Essex spinner Simon Harmer garners a single from the first delivery of the day from Joe Mennie.

But, if you're at Old Trafford, keeping track of the score might not be so easy. An overnight storm has knocked out the electronic scoreboards! And they're working hard to fix it!

One issue resulting from the rain that brought yesterday teatime's early finish is that they have some lost time to catch up today. Lunch will be at 1.10. And they will take a later tea too.

  17. Notts not out of it yet - Carterpublished at 10:55 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Somerset 392 v Nottinghamshire 134 & 112-0 - match resumes at 11:00 BST

Jake Libby and Steven MullaneyImage source, Rex Features

Nottinghamshire spinner Matt Carter believes they still have a chance of victory over Somerset at Taunton despite being made to follow on.

Skipper Steven Mullaney passed 6,000 first-class runs and shared an unbroken century stand with Jake Libby as the Division One leaders rediscovered their batting mojo at the start of their second innings, but they still trail by 146.

“It’s actually started to take a lot of turn now,” Carter told the Notts website. “I think if we can manage to get a lead of somewhere between 150-250 I think we’ll be able to put in a good stint and get close to getting over the line on the final day.”

He was delighted by Libby's return to form, adding: "Seeing the work that he’s put in and not getting the scores that he’s wanted has been a little depressing for everyone around him."

  19. Cook scalp means a lot to Menniepublished at 10:48 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Lancashire 301 v Essex 221-6 - match resumes at 11:00 BST

Lancashire pace bowler Joe Mennie was delighted to see the back of former England captain Alastair Cook on a rain-shortened second day in their game against defending champions Essex at Old Trafford.

Cook made 58 before Mennie had him caught behind and the Australian has so far been the main threat to the visitors, taking 3-40.

    Alastair CookImage source, Rex Features

"Alastair Cook played and missed at a few and we dropped him early doors, so I thought he was in for a big one. But to get him out when he'd set himself and was looking pretty dangerous is a big confidence booster for me," he said.

Essex head coach Anthony McGrath said it had been an "absorbing contest" so far, and added: "The first target is to get the 300 and then it's parity. It's game on from there. There's a lot of cricket left in this game."

  20. Steyn hopes for Hampshire revivalpublished at 10:45 British Summer Time 11 June 2018

    Surrey 368 v Hampshire 135 - match resumes at 11:00 BST

    Dale SteynImage source, Getty Images

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn is hoping his new Hampshire team-mates can bat much better when they follow on against Surrey at the Ageas Bowl, so he will have some work to do on the final day.

Surrey lead by 233 and skipper Rory Burns opted to send the home side in again on the second evening, only for bad light to deny his attack a chance of more wickets.

"You always want it to be overcast for swinging conditions, but strangely enough when the sun came out it swung beautifully for them," Steyn told BBC Radio Solent.

"Hopefully we can bat well in our second dig, get a bit of a lead and put them under pressure on day four because it looks like the wicket could just get worse and worse.

"I'm just feeling my way into it. I'm probably at 75, 80 per cent of max pace. I know if I land the ball in the right areas at 80 per cent, I'm always going to be a handful."
