  1. Somerset batten down the hatchespublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 367-7

Jamie Overton glances Josh Shaw off his hip for one more.

Very difficult to tell these two apart - identical appearance and identical bats!

    But that's definitely Jamie.

Brother Craig sees out the over. The batting has been becalmed since the loss of Davies and Gregory but it's still been a good day for the visitors overall.

    Four overs left.

  2. wicket

WICKET Davies lbw Tongue 47published at 18:14 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Lancashire 85-5 v Worcestershire 222

Josh Tongue has a third wicket - just two balls after running out Dane Vilas!

Alex Davies opted not to play a shot and looks inconsolable after being given out lbw.

Jordan Clark joins Toby Lester at the crease for Lancashire, who are 85-5 - trailing by 137 runs - with three overs to survive at Southport.

  3. Somerset seven down at Headingleypublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 366-7

David Willey bowls round the wicket from the Kirkstall Lane End and Craig Overton pushes him through the off side for a couple of runs.

    Five overs left tonight.

  4. wicket

WICKET Vilas run out (Tongue) 18published at 18:11 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Lancashire 81-4 v Worcestershire 222

Lancashire and Dane Vilas so unfortunate!

He's backing up out of his crease and Alex Davies hits a straight drive, which Worcestershire bowler Josh Tongue diverts onto the bails at the non-strikers end.

It's opportunistic but a freak dismissal really - Toby Lester is in as nightwatchman.

  5. 50 runs

50 partnership for Davies and Vilaspublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Lancashire 81-3 v Worcestershire 222

Alex Davies (43*) and Dane Vilas (18*) have their 50 partnership, with Lancashire trailing by 145 runs at Southport.

It comes off just 55 balls, proving attack can be the best form of defence.

Vilas has settled impressively in the circumstances, while Davies is scoring freely.

  6. Division Two round-uppublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

We had a bit of rain earlier today but all five of our Division Two games are progressing now..

Sussex are 87-3 against Middlesex at Lord's after dismissing the hosts for 169 with both openers gone. Steven Finn had Philip Salt caught by Dawid Malan for 32 and Ethan Bamber dispatched Luke Wells, caught by James Harris for 24. Tom Haines has just fallen, caught by Ollie Rayner, bowled James Fuller for 15.

Leicestershire are on top at Bristol, where Gloucestershire have been dismissed for 202 after reaching 150-3 earlier today. Mohammad Abbas took 5-30. They're 1-0 so far in reply.

Warwickshire have recovered to 99-2 after slipping to 43-2 against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay.

The hosts were bowled out for 203.

Northants are now five down at the Riverside after dismissing Durham for 129. Alex Wakely was the last man out, bowled by an Axar Patel wrong-un for 60. The visitors lead by 47 on 176-5.

Kent are 348-6 against Derbyshire at Derby, where Joe Denly made 106 and Zak Crawley fell just short of a maiden 100, lbw to Tony Palladino for 96.

  7. Stoneman closing in on tonpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Surrey 234-6 v Nottinghamshire

Mark Stoneman is in touching distance of a century for Surrey, on 92 not out.

The Surrey man hasn't made a ton since he scored 111 for England against a Cricket Australia XI in Townsville last November.

He has 13 overs to do it - so time won't be a problem - but can Notts crank up the pressure a tad?

  8. Injury to Jack Brooks?published at 18:05 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 360-7

The bowler is moving a bit gingerly at the moment and the suspicion is he's tweaked a hamstring.

He's unlikely to bowl again today. Not ideal with the new ball only nine overs old.

  9. Derbyshire claw their way back against Kentpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Derbyshire v Kent 336-6 (88 overs)

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Kent at Derby

A cat has just arrived at the County Ground in Derby, hiding under the covers with a bird in its grasp.

It’s the hosts who now have the bit bitween their teeth, with four quick wickets stalling the Kent charge and making the local crowd purr.

Sam Billings and Heino Kuhn can be particularly annoyed after playing poor attacking shots.

Daniel Bell-Drummond (31*) now must bat with a long tail to try and get his side above 400, or at least survive the day with Grant Stewart at his side.

  10. Lancs trying to build recoverypublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Lancashire 61-3 v Worcestershire 222

Alex Davies and Dane Vilas are steadying the shaky Lancashire ship, with both playing some expansive shots at The Oval.

There are six overs left in the day - if they can stick around and get towards three figures, the hosts would consider that a success of sorts.

  11. wicket

WICKET Davies c Ballance b Brooks 80published at 17:54 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 343-7

Double breakthrough for Yorkshire! Where did that come from?

Steven Davies aims a drive off Jack Brooks which goes straight down the throat of Gary Ballance at cover.

That's two wickets in four balls and the Overton brothers are in the middle.

  12. wicket

WICKET Clarke lbw Fletcher 14published at 17:53 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Surrey 225-5 v Nottinghamshire

Third time lucky for Notts - they've had two lbw shouts against Rikki Clarke waved away, but Luke Fletcher isn't denied this time.

Clarke is stuck on the crease against a ball that doesn't quite get up, and is trapped for 14.

Tom Curran joins ever-present Mark Stoneman (86*) - are Notts on top against leaders Surrey?

  13. wicket

WICKET Gregory c Williamson b Brooks 65published at 17:52 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yokshire v Somerset 343-6

He's out! Lewis Gregory plays one shot too many off Jack Brooks and miscues a clip to the onside which is seized by Kane Williamson.

  14. Somerset on top at Headingleypublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 343-5

Big appeal for lbw by David Willey off Steven Davies. Not out.

Plenty of fielders back on the boundary now. Davies gets an inside edge and the ball dribbles safely on to the on side.

    Maiden over.

  15. White Rose put to the swordpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 343-5

Jack Brooks is struggling a bit here. Yes, he has two wickets but he's also gone for 80-plus runs.

Steven Davies works his third ball to mid wicket but he can't evade the fielder.

The fifth ball is worked to long leg for a couple and the batsman picks up three more down the ground.

  16. Partnerships key for Surreypublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Surrey 215-5 v Nottinghamshire

Surrey have had partnerships of 90 and 78 to take them from 36-3 to 204-5 at The Oval.

Mark Stoneman has been at the heart of both and has taken himself to 82*, with Rikki Clarke joining him.

Despite the recovery, Notts shouldn't be disheartened - they've bowled pretty soundly and are well in this.

  17. Davies and Gregory put on 100published at 17:37 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 328-5

Davies drives Jack Brooks through the off side for four - and that brings up the 100-run partnership between the sixth-wicket pair.

A few eyebrows were raised when Somerset opted to bat this morning and slipped to 5-2 but that call looks thoroughly vindicated now.

  18. Runs flowing at Headingleypublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 322-5

David Willey takes the new ball from the other end - and that's a rare leave from Lewis Gregory outside the off stump.

The batsman goes back into attack mode and smashes Willey's fourth ball for four through long off.

  19. wicket

WICKET Jacks b Milnes 48published at 17:28 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Surrey 204-5 v Nottinghamshire

The second Surrey batsman to go on 48 - agonisingly short of a half-century.

Matt Milnes' delivery nicks back a bit and takes out Ryan Jacks' middle stump, which cartwheels out of the ground.

Surrey 204-5 and that would seem to confirm that Ollie Pope definitely won't bat until the second innings.

  20. 50 runs

50 for Lewis Gregorypublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 29 August 2018

    Yorkshire v Somerset 311-5

And Lewis Gregory pushes Brooks neatly through the on side for four to get to a whirlwind 50 off 32 balls with six fours and three maximums!
