England batsman Keaton Jennings says he felt "like a goldfish in a bowl" thanks to the intense scrutiny he was under after a poor run of form.

The opener scored a century on his debut in 2016 but went 22 innings without another before he scored 146 not out yesterday.

"At times you feel incredible heat being around the Test environment," he told BBC Radio 5 live.

"You feel like the world is on top of you. That's the intensity you feel."

I thought Keaton Jennings' 146 not out was a really outstanding innings.

It was a proper innings, showing every ounce of character and temperament that he clearly has.

I think the person who will gain the second most satisfaction from the innings, after Jennings himself, will be Alastair Cook.

It was the sort of innings Cook would have played under the circumstances, before his retirement.

Keaton Jennings ended his two-year wait for a Test century as England moved into a formidable position on day three of the first Test against Sri Lanka.

Jennings scored a brilliant 146 not out to allow England to declare late in the day on 322-6.

Sri Lanka closed on 15-0 and must bat the final two days for a draw or score a record 462 to win to deny England a first away win in 13 Tests.

Jennings's century was his first since his ton on debut in 2016.

    Incredible.

After 12 hours of torrential rain and thunderstorms last night, I half expected the England team to arrive to the ground this morning by Ark.

But the covers have come off, the water has somehow disappeared and it looks like we are going to be starting on time.

Surprise surprise the forecast is again a 50% chance of thunderstorms. But so far we’ve been incredibly lucky.

But will we get a dry day today and could England pull off a historic win?

  12. Can England finally get a win on the road?published at 03:55 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2018

    It's been a long wait.

England have gone more than two years without a Test win away from home. The BBC had just lost the rights for the Bake Off when England won in Bangladesh, with Ben Stokes leading the way with bat and ball.

Since then it's been played 12, lost nine, won zero.

    Is today the day?
