  1. Aus 17-0published at 4 overs

    Finch 13, Warner 4

The ball is nibbling around still for Tom Curran. His impressive performance in the Pakistan ODI series got him a place of this World Cup squad ahead of David Willey.

England have a slip in as they look for early wickets and Curran bowls five dots before Finch takes another single on the sixth delivery.

As I've said this is not the only cricket today.

It's a big day on the domestic scene with the Royal London One Day Cup final between Hampshire and Somerset at Lord's.

We've got radio commentary, in-play clips and text updates of that game here.

India are playing New Zealand in a warm-up too.

  3. Aus 16-0published at 3 overs

    Finch 12, Warner 4

Another boundary for Finch. Mark Wood hasn't quite found his mark in this over. Short doesn't look to be the way to go on this pitch. Finch had all the time in the world to pull this one in front of square.

He steals the strike at the end of the over too.

  4. Aus 11-0published at 2.2 overs

94mph from Mark Wood but the direction is wrong. Aaron Finch flicks this one off his toes for four.

I like that they are keeping Jofra Archer tucked away. He could be a massive reason why England do well in this tournament. So rest him up and give people like Curran a chance to shine.

  6. Aus 5-0published at 2 overs

    Finch 1, Warner 4

Shot. Tom Curran's decent first over ends with David Warner leaning on a drive and the ball running away for four.

That's the first boundary of the innings.

A smattering of applause for Warner's first runs.

  7. Aus 1-0published at 1.3 over

    Warner 0, Finch 1

Aaron Finch flicks away a single to get Australia off the mark.

  8. Not outpublished at 1.1 overs

    Umpire's call!

Finch survives. It was only clipping the top of leg stump so the original decision stands.

It might just be slipping down leg. Finch has not hit it.

    We wait for ball tracking...

No surprise England are reviewing this. Looked a good shout from behind the bowler’s arm.

  11. England reviewpublished at 1.1 overs

Massive appeal from England off Curran's first ball.

He nips one back into Aaron Finch's pads. The umpire says no but this looked good.

Chris Woakes is playing only as a batsman today.

Tom Curran will open the bowling from the other end.

  13. Aus 0-0published at 1 over

It's a maiden to start from Mark Wood. What happened to the old David Warner?

With the ground far from full, the boos that greeted David Warner did not resonate much around the Hampshire Bowl. When he arrived at the crease, one fan yelled, “Get off Warner you cheat,” to a few hearty laughs from those around him.

  15. Aus 0-0published at 0.4 overs

Mark Wood is swinging this ball early. His pace is up at 92mph. It doesn't look like he's going to take this easy.

Warner goes for a pull but misses.

  16. Aus 0-0published at 0.1 overs

No bouncer. Back-of-a-length from Wood and the ball crunches into Warner's bat.

The Aussie lets out a big cry of "WAIT ON".

Mark Wood will start with the ball for England. David Warner is on strike. Bouncer first up?

And there are boos as Aussie opener David Warner skips onto the outfield.

It's a little taster of what will come in more hostile grounds during the World Cup and Ashes.

The Aegas Bowl is not full but there's a decent crowd considering Hampshire are in a One-Day Cup final today.

Those that are in the ground applaud as the England players walk down the steps.

I've wondered whether England are trying to keep a bit of mystery up their sleeve with Archer. Try and make sure as few batsman as possible have faced him going into the World Cup.
