Let's have a look through some of the highlights of the play we have had so far and there have been plenty of them, Kusal Perera giving Sri Lanka a solid start and capitalising on some loose bowling from Afghanistan.
The problems have continued for South Africa today as well with news that fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup by a shoulder injury. The South Africans have lost their first two matches and we will see them take on the might of India in Southampton tomorrow.
Both England players also had one dreaded demerit point added to their records. Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was fined 20% of his match fee, and his teammates 10%, for a minor over-rate offence.
England's Jason Roy and Jofra Archer were fined 15% of their match fees for indiscretions at Trent Bridge. Roy, who had a poor match, dropping a key catch and making only eight with the bat, was found guilty of "using an audible obscenity after a misfield during Pakistan's innings." Imagine the money accumulated if that happened in village cricket?
Fast bowler Archer was found guilty of dissent towards an umpire's decision following a wide delivery.
It looks a bit grey in Paris but they have begun the French Open quarter-finals and you can monitor Johanna Konta's progress here.
We'll keep you informed of any improvements in the Cardiff conditions and there is plenty of cricketing housekeeping to catch up with. Let's start with the disciplinary results following yesterday's England-Pakistan match.
I wonder where Udana is hiding at the moment? Here is another time for him to avert his eyes. Now own up, who has played a shot like this recently? Let us know your ungainly exits at #bbccricket or text to 81111
Not many skyscrapers in the latter part of that innings are there? 19 came from the 17th over - bowled by Gulbadin Nabi - but they have been semi-detacheds rather than high-rise blocks since.
Let's have a look at the prospects for further play, courtesy of BBC Weather's Mel Coles.

The Sri Lanka coach does not look happy at all. He is standing isolated outside of the room on the balcony.
There are 75 extra minutes for each match so it will be a while before there is talk of reduced overs, but the skies are slate grey as a young schoolgirl generously allows her colleague to shelter under her plastic mac.
SL 182-8 (33 overs)
But finally the rain is deemed too heavy and after that intriguing passage of play we will have an interruption.
Lasith Malinga is the new man, aged 35 now and not at his original fighting weight, but still with those blond locks. He might have had an early exit had the throw been better but he scampers through for two leg byes.

Perera was becalmed for such a long time. He got his side into a dominant position but the way he has played since has reflected the way his side have gone.
Since posting 19 runs in the 17th over, Sri Lanka have failed to record more than seven in a single over.
K Perera 78 c Shahzad b Rashid 78 (SL 180-8)
The big wicket and after eight fours in his 78, Perera departs. A reverse sweep and it only goes into the gauntlets of Shahzad. The collapse extends to 7-36 in 11 overs.

It is worth getting another slip in here because Lakmal does not fancy it.
Run-rate 5.59
Several new features from our host broadcaster at this event, not all of them useful it has to be said, but we have been informed the new batsman Lakmal has taken a middle stump guard. He has had a difficult start, evading a bouncer and rattled on the glove which requires some treatment from the physio for his right thumb, which is being taped up like a battered wing mirror, but he cuffs one away to third man to get off the mark and avoid becoming the third duckee of the innings.
Let's try and cheer Udana up a little by looking at his six. We'll see that horrible shot he has just got out to shortly...
